Thank you SO MUCH for the small TV hack! I thought my TV was 55" but turns out it was 50" and had to do some tweaking, inspired by your video. The end result was absolutely amazing! Thank you for posting that, I would've just never installed it otherwise!
I haven’t tried the bulbs. I don’t really know how will that work with everyone around the house having to use the phone to control the lights 😂. I am glad you like the immersion system. It still works like a charm on my tv 😊.
My white works perfectly with the light bars, but on the tv it has a pinkish glow. I’ve tried numerous calibrations and settings. No luck. Any suggestions?
Yes! But to be able to bend it I had to remove the silicone protection from the strip. My TV is also 43” and everything works fine today. The strip is still in place and works great.
In my opinion you should get the 55-65’ version. If you get the bigger version you will end up with strips longer that your tv and you can’t cut them because each module it’s calibrated to have it’s own place on the perimeter of your TV so you will have the same problem as I did with the 55-65’ on a 43’ tv. So, my advice is to get the 55’-65’ model. You will have to place it a bit farther away from the edge of your tv but the led offer plenty of light. Good luck and enjoy!
Thank you Patrick! The silicone was not very hard to peel off. I just pinched it in one place until it separated from the strip. The two (strip and silicone) do not bound well together so they are fairly easy to get separated. 👍🏼

This strip will not fit a 42” TV unless you do this hack: th-cam.com/video/a8cCF2tV9y0/w-d-xo.html . If you are searching for something that will work right out of the box, this kit won’t fit a 42” TV.
I took a look at their site and I found the same information relating more info about the smaller kit. I will have a guess and say that by looking at the full length of the bigger set 16,4 inches which would be 5m and standard 75inches TV sets which is somewhere around 1m x 1,6m the sections of the larger kit should be 100cm on the sides and 150cm for top and bottom. The second guess would be 90cm x 160cm (each 3 led module is 10cm in length so each length will have to be divided by 10) . To be sure you can ask a question in the Gove app or on a Facebook group. Users are very eager to help out. I hope this helps.
I see on amazon have cable for sale ac to usb, it says SinLoon DC 5V to 12V USB Step up Converter Cable Power Adapter Cable With DC 5.5 x 2.1mm “DC 5521 output: 12V, maximum current: 0.8A” In amazon have comment under govee lights where I bought them that one guy powered ac to tv straight and it’s turning on and off with tv. What do you think would this cable be ok to power on this with tv? Im bad with voltage understandings myself. Or what kind of cable would be safe to do that? Thanks in advance
The output of my power supply is 12V with 2.0A. I believe that if you will try powering the LED’s from the TV’s USB port it might not work or you might end up breaking the USB port or something else from your TV. My personal advice is not to try it but I am not an expert either so better dig a bit deeper with your research. Good luck! 🍀
I am sorry for your trouble with the lights. You might have a broken connection on the point from where the LED’s stop working. I am guessing one of the wires got lose because the led strip doesn’t usually break from bending it. You will need to figure out which one of the connections is bad and desolder it if you have a soldering iron.
That is not an option with the Govee Immersion as the software knows the exact number of chips on each strip and if you cut off from the modules you will render the system not working properly.
No. Each segment has to be in a specific place in order to work properly. The only way to hack this is to make the gap between each LED smaller and all gaps the same. Otherwise the colors of the LED’s will not match the colors on the TV. I hope I explained this right.

Hello Justin! I have everything filmed, just haven’t gotten the time to edit the footage and upload. I will work on this tutorial in the near future. Thank you for your patience!
Hello i have 43 inches tv and i take this govee backlight but i have the same problem is too big and a need to see how you cut the strip make a video please
From 55” to 27” it’s a big difference. It might work but it might need a different approach. The hack is in this video. It’s about bending the strip in such a way to make the strip shorter to fit the length of the tv.
Why get this $120 system, when they have $20 back light systems with custom colors? I’ve had those on my TVs for a while, and they’re awesome. Is there that much of a difference? Asking before I upgrade
In the video I explain in depth how the system works. This system expands the colors from the TV on the wall using a camera. If you only want ambient lights the ones you have will do just fine. For me personally it is a cool feature.
I got the best results on my 43” by mounting the camera on the bottom side a bit farther away from the TV. The calibration software will show you a snapshot of what it sees so you can adjust the position and retake the shot to see if the position is right. Note that the system is designed for 55” and 65” TV’s and you need to hack the LED strips in order to work. See my video on how to install the system on a smaller TV.
Yes! You can actually cut the strip like all other strips and separate each module. Not everyone knows this. The scheme is that if you leave out any section you will also lose sections in the app when you animate the strip. It doesn’t split the animation sequence between the remaining LED’s.
Yes! If you pick up the right kit. Look in the description of this video and you will find 2 links. One for smaller TV’s and the second one for bigger TV’s like yours. I specified the size ranges.
Is it a 65” TV? There are 2 kits available (check out the links in the description) in the links I believe you can search for compatibility based on the size. I hope this helps.
