    I know this is kind of an old video man, but I love the sound of your truck. Will you please see if you can do an extremely long ASMR video of you driving this thing through the city and on the freeway and do this exact same format with the engine, start up and everything and hammer down on the Excelerator because I love hearing that as well. Thanks man stay safe and have a great one and you just earned yourself a new subscriber.

    This is the video I've been looking for. One where I can see what it'll look like when I get behind the wheel.

    I get about 12 mpg with it. Not to bad considering how big the truck is! Also I like each truck the same. They have there quirks but the 5-ton is defiantly the Cadillac.

    The Allison MT654CR is a 5-speed close-ratio fully-automatic transmission. Torque converter locks up from at least the 2nd gear.

    I know im alittle late to the party but how bad does she ride with just leaf springs ? and is there a conversion for the front suspension to change out the leaf springs to something similar to what's in the lmtv?

    You should take that rig on Trooper Tyree's October 2022 Great Smoky Mountains Convoy. See HISTORY in MOTION magazine 'Events' listing of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association.

      Erich Brock One of the road signs said Dismal Swamp State Park. I googled it and it is in South Mills, NC. South, yes.

  • @GTFORDMAN

    i looked up the specs of this and it said it was an Automatic, i thought "surely they mean a synchronized manual" (in Australia truckers refer to anything that's not an 18 speed road ranger as an "Automatic" lol) but no it's an actual Automatic!
    btw does that 5 ton still have the Multi fuel function?

    • @crazyfvck
      @crazyfvck 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GTFORDMAN Not all of them do. Most of them are diesel only.

      The M923A2-M943A2 just like the M923A1-M945A1 and M923-M943 are all Cummins actually.The A2 has the 12V 6CT with the MW Fuel Pump for 1987 to 1994.And then the A1 and M923-M943 only have the N/A NHC-250,and the same engine is what the M812-M820 for 1969 to 1982 had as well.
      The M35A2-M342A2 had Multi-Fuels,such as the 135 HP LDT-465,168 HP LT-465,and 175 HP LDS-465 all for 1966 to 1988.The M35A1 had them too but they have a LDT-427 and then the M35 is a gas truck.The M51A2-M62A2/M348A2 had Multi-Fuels also,and those are the five ton trucks,but then the M51A1-M62A1/M348A1 have EDNT-673 Thermodyne Macks and were made by Mack too,and the M51-M62/M348 just like the M35 had gasoline engines from Continental.
      There also was the Caterpillar Goer,all the way from a 8 Ton to a 15 Ton truck in that series,that had Caterpillar Multi-Fuels also.Starting in 1961 they originally had a 8V-71 Detroit,then in 1964 they came with a 192 HP D333C Multi-Fuel all until 1972,and then from there until 1976 they all had a D333.The M520 & M553 were from 1972-1976,those are the 8-10 Ton trucks,and then the 12-14 Ton Goers were all within that time line too,the others that were heavier were retired in early years,even with Multi-Fuels.Fort Hood use to have a ton of Goers back in the day.

      @@mrmolasses5366 Yeah,in a M35A2,not in a M923A2-M943A2.These trucks have Cummins,the M35A2-M342A2 and M51A2-M62A2/M348A2 are the only trucks that had Multi-Fuels,but some Caterpillar Goers had Caterpillar D333C Multi-Fuels also.
      Running gasoline in a Multi-Fuel can NOT be done unless a mixture of motor oil or diesel fuel is done,and it can not be half/half or very little,it needs to be 70% Diesel/Oil against 30% Gas/Petroleum.
      And when you take away the flammable fuel part about a Multi-Fuel,literally,the same Diesels,Oils,and Fluids you can use in a deuce and a half is the same exact thing you can use in any Caterpillar,Cummins,or Detroit.You just need a different Fuel Pump to continue to do so.A Multi-Fuel is still a diesel engine that just has different Pistons,Injectors,and Fuel Pumps compared to others.

    • @Slim_Slid
      @Slim_Slid 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@crazyfvck All of the M923A2-M943A2 have Cummins,not most of them,none of these trucks were Multi-Fuel either.The M35A2-M342A2 just like the M35A1 and then the M51A2-M62A2 and M348A2 were all Multi-Fuel only.The M51A2-M62A2 last had them until 1969,and then the M812-M820,M923-M943,M923A1-M945A1,and M923A2-M943A2 only had Cummins.The M35A2-M342A2 all had the Multi-Fuel until 1988.There is also a M35A3-M109A4 that came out in 1993 but ended in 1999,but it has a 3116 Caterpillar.
      On the five ton trucks,there was also a M51A1-M62A1/M348A1 that came out before the M51A2-M62A2/M348A2 that have Mack engines and were made by Mack too,they had the same 673 Thermodyne that the B-51 to B-73 Mack trucks had.And then the earlier ones were only gasoline trucks just like the first deuces.
      Multi-Fuels were also used in Caterpillar Goers,which came out before the HEMTT even existed.
