As a real alcoholic, I can assure you it's nothing to brag about. It started in high school as just fun and games, and carried into partying with my college friends. Then I turned 21yo in Texas and everyone drank whiskey and beer everyday especially in Corpus Christi where most people literally go to work all day then get off, and go fishing and we would drink everytime on the beach while doing so, and it was just way too normalized. Next thing I knew years went by, and I was drinking a 5th of whiskey a day, and would chug a 40oz budweiser or two before going into work because I was a server at multiple restaurants dealing with assholes and stupid people. I eventually quit drinking hard liquor all together except on special occasions, but switched to drinking beer all day which on average would be around 20-25 beers at least all day everyday. I did this from 2011 until last year, and now I'm done with it. My daily routine was wake up and drink 4-6 beers before doing anything, then would drink another 4-6 beers while doing the things I needed to do, and at this time I had turned $265 into around $340,000 in 10 months after learning how to read charts and trade the markets mainly crypto so I had no routine except drink and make money. Then would finish the night off with another 4-10 beers or more depending on the day and what we had going on. But this year I said no more, and I started subbing out the beer for hard liquor because I don't like drinking it, but my body literally needs alcohol in it to survive. I've only had around 10 beers in the past 2 months, and was taking 14 shots a day instead and been slowly weaning off of that number. Went from 14-16 a day down to 12-14, then 10-12, 8-10, and currently fluctuating from 4-8 this past week. This week I'll bring it down to 4-6, and next week go to 2-4 which will go on for 2 weeks after that. Then I'll be going down to 1-3 with my gf having extra hidden somewhere just in case, and that'll last another 2 weeks. Then after that I'll go to 1-2 for 2 weeks, and then go to 1 for 3 weeks. By this time my body should have become acclimated to not physically needing the alcohol to survive because alcohol is one of the only substances you can literally die from not having, and you will have hallucinations, tremors, and your body will shutdown. Then I'll go to zero a day, and only drink on special occasions. I'm only 32yo and I'm not trying to die by age 40-50. My grandpa was an alcoholic, my dad passed away in early 2018 from alcohol addiction at 61yo, and watching him suffer and dying was a huge wake up call for me. I know it'll be tough, but cannabis and mushrooms help a lot because when I smoke I don't even think about drinking for hours, and when I micro dose or trip it's the same thing. They're truly miracles and life savers. Please kids DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL UNLESS IT'S FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION!!! At first your just having fun and partying thinking well it can't be that bad because it's legal and everyone is doing it, but before you know it years of time has flown by, and if you don't have it you'll freak out and start literally dying. By then it's too late because most people will never stop because it's just easier to keep drinking and functioning like normal then having to deal with the withdrawals ect. If your going to use substances to alter your mind and body just use cannabis or mushrooms. You can't die from using either one, and they're 100% natural given to us by the God's and universe for a reason.
My dad started drinking around age 11. Got really bad during his adult years, because a heavy drinker and I remember my mother also having to pick him up from the puddle of piss he passed out in. Then of course my mom got me and my sister to pick him up when we were old enough too. Get him cleaned and change his clothes, etc...I still love my dad, he was a good dad but I hated him drinking.
It’s a shame that Alcohol was completely normalized and cannabis was demonized. That’s probably one of the most deceptive and destructive lies that have been pushed into cultural acceptance. Weed doesn’t poison the body like alcohol does, and quality dry herb vapes pretty much eliminate any potential undesirable effects on the lungs. Also, abruptly quitting cannabis after years of regular use won’t result in harsh withdrawal symptoms. Cannabis withdrawals are similar to, or less severe than caffeine withdrawals. Anyone should be able to legally grow weed, the same as any other garden herb. The idea of a small group of people outlawing something as natural as water, sunshine, and air, sounds more absurd with each passing year.
