As someone who has been trying to get pregnant for over a year and a half and I’m scared to even keep trying now… and what if I never can have a baby and IVF gets banned. I want nothing more in the world to be a mom but I’m so scared of having an ectopic pregnancy or issues in labor where my life no longer matters.. literally had a panic attack Wednesday morning. 😭
Colleen, I have watched you since I was literally 10 years old and I am now 22. I even attended one of your live shows one year and went to your VIP meet and greets and got to meet you. Your kindness exuded from you. Ever since then, I have watched you everyday. You are my comfort watch, my friend, and a place I can go to when I feel stressed or sad. So thank you for addressing the election. This election meant so much for so many of us. I know exactly the fear and anxiety you are feeling, especially for little Maisy. I have been crying off and on as well. Devastated and scared don't even begin to explain my emotions right now. Seems like we will never find a woman qualified enough when held to such unfair double standards. I was going to try to have children soon but I now am afraid I could die if something goes wrong and medical interventions is needed but cannot be provided.

I work in an elementary school with 2nd graders and am also terrified for their future and the future of their education. I did want to mention that when your talking about equality, you might want to change your verbiage to equity. Equality is giving everyone the same thing, and equity is giving everyone what they need. I learned that when I joined our DEI committee for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Girly from Ohio here and I woke up at 4:30a to the sound of heavy rain and I didn't even need to check the poll status to know what had happened. In the moment, I knew and the earth was crying because of it. I knew the rain was a symbol for the tears that were shed and were going to be shed. No so cry away lady it’s what your body needs to do because of the stress of the situation. When Scotland voted against independence in the 2014 referendum I was devastated, it was honestly like loosing a loved one. When the UK voted to take us out of the European Union I was angry, we’d been lied to and people fell for those lies just like voters of Trump have done but in time some of them will learn their mistake. I won’t travel to America until women have body autonomy and it’s safer for us so I understand how you can worry for your daughter but I also worry for any female or trans partners your children may have in the future, under the new administration their safety is not guaranteed. Thinking of everyone in America who are worried & scared just now.

The world is a scary place right now. I was watching from Belgium and my heart sunk for women all over the world. It far outreaches the boundaries of the US. One thing we can do is keep lifting eachother up in these comment sections, in our families, neighbourhoods,…! As a bi woman I fear the future. I may be married to a man and yes I’m faithful but I’m still me. I still celebrate pride. I still run around with rainbow hair from time to time. I still go to gay bars. I still go to drag shows. But in the end I’m still woman, so I also fear all my rights as a woman will be stripped too. I’m scared that gynecological issues will be pushed aside because doctors are scared they will be seen as covering up abortions and then just not doing any procedure that women need as life save measures. Like a bleeding polyp that almost caused me to have a blood transfusion a few years ago because I lost much blood during Covid before they could surgically remove it. Don’t worry Colleen, a lot of us cried I’m sure, I know I did and I still am.

As a bi woman I fear the future. I may be married to a man and yes I’m faithful but I’m still me. I still celebrate pride. I still run around with rainbow hair from time to time. I still go to gay bars. I still go to drag shows. But in the end I’m still woman, so I also fear all my rights as a woman will be stripped too. I’m scared that gynecological issues will be pushed aside because doctors are scared they will be seen as covering up abortions and then just not doing any procedure that women need as life save measures. Like a bleeding polyp that almost caused me to have a blood transfusion a few years ago because I lost much blood during Covid before they could surgically remove it.
