  • These Cantonese uncles and aunties may not wear head to toe designer, but they could be “invisible millionaires” collecting rent from dozens of apartments or buildings. Their favorite pastime is dim sum and mahjong. They’d rather spend money on food than buying some brand-name clothing or accessories

Haha, this made me laugh. I am not Chinese, but I live in an American city with a large Chinese population, mostly Cantonese, and this is definitely true! Many of them also like to wear pajamas all day unless they have to go to work or something.

It's the weather. As you live closer to the beach, there is lesser reason to wrap feet with shoes all day long.

I only wear sandals and crocs so i guess I'll fit right in. I don't wear socks and I don't care how cold it is outside.

Creating the next CERN or a similar large-scale research facility will likely take several decades. Here's a rough estimate of the timeline:
    1. Planning and proposal phase: 5-10 years
    2. Design and development phase: 10-15 years
    3. Construction phase: 10-20 years
    4. Testing and commissioning phase: 5-10 years
Considering these phases, it may take around 30-55 years to create the next CERN. However, this timeline can vary depending on factors like:
    - Scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements
    - Global cooperation and funding
    - Complexity of the project
    - Regulatory approvals
Keep in mind that CERN's Future Circular Collider (FCC) proposal, which aims to build a new, more powerful collider, is already underway. The FCC's timeline estimates:
    - 2020s: Design and development phase
    - 2030s: Construction phase
    - 2040s: Operation and experimentation phase
Please note that these timelines are approximate and may change as the project evolves.

You are saying Cantonese people where slippers more than Mainland people?

    • @KinLee919
      @KinLee919 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Cantonese are (mostly) mainlanders, the region canton (nowadays guangdong) is in mainland.

@@KinLee919 oh, yes, you are correct. I always think of them as Hong Kongers but that is wrong.
So a Cantonese speaker is more likely to wear slippers outdoors than someone in Shanghai or Beijing?

@@TheFiestyhick not only cantonese people, but I think more you go on the south, the hottest it is, so more you wear slipper 😂

Flipflops dont show your self worth. And its impractical to wear shoes when you have to walk for miles doing grocery or its just too painful to wear shoes where the climate sucks. Its amazing footwear can help with temp regulation
