    I was joking around with you earlier. But imagine if every producer got together and teamed up. Maybe form a producers Union or something. We could set a minimum price for tracks depending on how the track is used. You might think this is crazy, but we could also get things like insurance in case of lawsuits etc. That's great that you are able to buy a house from your music, but you must realize that your $20.00 a beat formula will not work for everyone. I currently create content for TV here in Toronto. I have also created music for Raptors television so I know what I'm talking about. Anyway man not trying to start an argument, keep up the good work and I'll keep tuned into your content!! Peace

      That's literally exactly what a producer does. If you do your business properly by documenting ownership of your beats and have contracts dictating what an artist can do depending on what type of contract they pay for they have zero legal grounds for a lawsuit. And as your own private company you can set your prices however you want.

    The problem with registering with content id is most of our beats violates the terms of content id because we use sound kits distrokid doesnt even support electronic music hip hop,edm,dubstep etc because of this issue audiam is the only content id system i know that actually enforces this so even though the others dont your violating youtubes content id rules if you register your beats unless you play every single instrument and sound in your beat yourself

    Wsup bro.. I've been having the same issue, but as an artists, from other artists. Funny part is that when u said you're listening for the tag I had a big sigh of release. & ok it makes sense why I never get the claim from producers & only other artists who may have also bought the license.. but when I upload to BMI I don't claim the extra 100% for composition of the beat. Everyone doesnt move with integrity.. either way, I appreciate the producer perspective..

    Thanks Pain, definitely a problem. Smart method to hunt down artists who use your songs without a license.
    For those who wanna try another method is to sign to identifyy.com (by HAAWK Copyright management).
    It’s free and they do all the work to put your songs into the contend id system... I tried it by myself, but TH-cam never responded to me signing up to do it myself 😒
    Well, it’s not really free, cause they take 30% of your earnings, but hey... they do all the work.
    When your tracks are in the system, your own TH-cam uploads will be claimed too, but you are the one who will get the money (they even give you 100% for your own channel).
    So you can monetize your channel before you hit 1000 subs and you‘ll monetize artists videos. If a customer don’t like it, you can whitelist his video or the whole channel.
    This is also a big advantage in customer service, because Customer A cannot claim Customer B‘s videos... you will claim both and have the possibility to whitelist them.
    If anyone is interested how it looks like on my vids, search for ROCKY LAGOON, go to a video and check the description. There you‘ll see the claim by HAAWK.
    Peace out ✌🏼

      Centric Beats You are right. But this is what I found in their FAQ:
      10) Do you monetize for Facebook / Instagram?
      A: While we currently monetize TH-cam only, we are able to deliver fingerprints to both Facebook and Instagram for tracking purposes and as soon as Facebook/Instagram permit monetization, we'll immediately begin collecting/monetizing these platforms for our clients (in addition to TH-cam).

    I use audiam directly for content ID. I go directly to the source. If I get a claim on my own beat all i have to do is email audiam to remove the claim from my channel and thats it. Its no big deal. The issue arise for every one because if they use a distributor, the distributor has no control over what audiam does. But I agree with ur method if u submit ur beat through distributors. Also when the video is monetized by anyone audiam pays u directly

      but u register ur beat with audiam before uploading it to youtube right ? same thing would apply with songtrust ..

    I only put a single sentence in my disputes. And the claim is retracted. But TH-cam itself should be cracking down on false copyright claims. There are content ID websites but I’d have to look them up again, I don’t remember the names.

    just because you dont ear the beatstars tag it doesn't mean they have bought a license from you. They could've bought it from someone who bought it from you. Or they got the beat for free from someone who bought it

  • @ProdByMallDidIt
    @ProdByMallDidIt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now TH-cam says they don’t deal with Content ID claims, they just send the dispute to the person that stole your beat and let them decide what to do. 🥲

    Tell your clients to submit the acapellas separately to TH-cam Content ID. Their content is the acapellas on the song maybe they can opt out of that option on TuneCore and submit their acapella to identifyy.com that way they have their Content Secured Too!.

    Surely it depends on the terms you set in licensing your beats. As long as you retained the copyright in the beat and didn't grant the right for the licensee to monetize your creative work, then you can appeal a TH-cam Content ID strike on those grounds. You would, of course, be on firmer legal ground if you had previously registered your copyright with a PRO.

    • @DJPain1
      @DJPain1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      PROs don't even hold audio data and are absolutely useless in a DMCA claim

    I am a vocalist and it gets really tricky with people who makes beats because of course both partys wana make revenue from it so its very discouraging when you realize after buying a beat and you read all the legal licensing and your hands are in a way tied from releasing it to platforms, the beat i bought doesn't allow me to monetize on TH-cam i respect that but still id be great if the artist even put 50% of the royalties in the beat makers pocket as i feel its a 50 50 deal or artistry. Unless you had a writer/co writer then the vocalist splits that 50% . Someone knock some sense in me .....................................i feel like this pushes the vocalist to learn to produce there own beat to avoid conflict. i am new to making music so im open to listening to opinions .

    • @DJPain1
      @DJPain1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In what way are you "tied from releasing it to the plarforms?" Furthermore, your TH-cam channel isn't currently monetized, so how much of a problem is that for you?

    Do you see a solution in sight for Content ID issues for instrumentals using purchased non-exclusive samples? Are there any workarounds to this issue? I have decent tracks without samples, but I also have some good ones that use them. It's a pain since most Hollywood post-production studios use non-exclusive FX libraries.

    I’m also receiving these types of claims on both if my own TH-cam channels. Haven’t disputed them because I am aware of my distributor and Songtrust that’s claiming copyright on my videos. Don’t know what’s your take on this, should I still dispute?
    Mostly so that TH-cam know I’m the owner of both the master recording and composition?

    • @DJPain1
      @DJPain1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You wouldn't dispute that because you chose to make Songtrust the agency that's collecting your youtube money.

    I'm a producer from NY, don't really comment much but I'm around a lot of these industry people. The problem is even bigger than this. I've seen multiple internet producers lose placements because of people trying to get around everything, I actually wanted to talk to you about it because I've learned a lot of business information from you and am starting to get more opportunities but there's another part to this business that's just wrong and it's hard to explain. is there anywhere i can hit you up to ask some questions directly?
