We just got a strike on our channel for one of our React videos. I used your guidance to dispute the video, but it was immediately denied within a few hours. I decided to take the next step and "Appeal" the rejection since it seemed too quick and perhaps "automatic" rather than intentional. That proved to be a mistake, as it resulted in a strike and take down of the video. There are other reactions to this same live performance on TH-cam, but I guess we pushed to far with the appeal. Now, I'm going to contact the creator directly and try to get them to remove the strike. Any advice on that?
Yeah, I would never recommend appealing the dispute, I’m honestly not sure if the creator will have a say in it, it’s likely more of TH-cam or the people that claimed it, likely an outside company that the artist uses
the initial dispute wont get you a strike, its if you try to appeal the dispute where they will give you a strike and take down notice. it even says so after you submit your initial dispute@@Dynamofoe

what i hate about many reaction videos in youtube nowadays are contents claimed as reaction videos but basically they just re-uploaded other creators' hardwork with them on the screen, nothing else. if it's a funny content, they're just watching and laughing. if it's not funny they're making faces as a sort of reaction. but basically, all they did was show someone else's work and watched it with us. where's the idea of being a "creator" in those cases? there should be a way for youtube to identify what are really reaction videos, complete with discussion or explanation... and what are simply re-uploading and using someone else's content.
"What I hate about many reaction videos is that they are just them reacting" is what I just read. Lol. I think it's a valid argument for you to think reaction videos are not content. I would extremely disagree. Not because this is my reaction channel writing this but because I watch other people's reactions to see how they also reacted to things I've already seen. Most reaction channels for videos hardly include the full video in any way that's enjoyable to just watch for the video. Otherwise, it would get the copywriter claimed. I'm not sure what else you would expect a reactor to do other than react going with the implied premise that you think reactors could be content. If they are going to be watching it for the first time they are unlikely to be able to provide an analysis or breakdown of the video. But that's a different type of video altogether.
@@kloaf11reacts25 But they are reacting to someone's else's protected content. And they aren't offering anything insightful or compensating the OG creators. Fun fact it's illegal to watch a video and react to it And post it without permission and it shouldn't be posted anyway even with permission because it's owned buy the studio and the company And you get in Serious trouble
The funniest part is how TH-cam let's non monetized channels get claimed. Enjoy the 0 revenue I get. I'm just afraid of strikes more than I am claims. Should I be worried about getting my channel taken down for claims.
Lol!! Yup! But learn from my mistake and dispute them even when you can’t be monetized yet, because otherwise you will have to go back later in the future and dispute all the videos that we never disputed back pre-monetization days And I wouldn’t worry about strikes from claims, only if you dispute the rejection claim, then you can potentially get a strike, so I have never disputed a rejected claim

Great video! Quick question - Have you ever gotten a strike for disputing one of the claims? I do movie reviews/analysis and use a lot of clips from the movies with voiceover along with a few ~5 second clips with audio from the movies related to my talking points. I haven't had much issue so far but 20th Century Fox has blocked a video twice now on my channel. I'm afraid if I try and dispute fair use I will get a strike. Thanks in advance!
Really interesting, thanks. About seven years ago, I made some home travel movies for friends and family on TH-cam - not monotised or anything - and at that time you could download music from Jamendo on a CC non-commercial use (with attribution) license. I went out of my way to source music I could use and even made voluntary donations to some of the artists. I recently went back into my old channel and realised that half of them now had copyright claims against them! I managed to track down one of the artists and he was really kind and said 'sorry for the mix-up' and withdrew the claim, but I was really hacked off with Jamendo because I had specifically sourced music they said I could use, and now I have to redo everything because I can't contact half the artists.
U can keep it videos up. U can even put popular songs on them. A copyright claim only means u can't earn money. U can still have it up and people watching it.
some reactors reverse the image to avoid blocking and one even had the image in 9 seperate but equal portions to avoid it. These were specifically for PTX videos. Have you ever tried these techniques?
You have a really cool voice Thats why i subbed and "I desires to make good quality, wholesome music that listeners of all ages can relate to and be moved by." was funny lol
I don’t make my videos for the money but as I’ve learned from other TH-camrs is that sooner or later the copyright police will come for you even if your clean, they’ll just block you
I'm not even monetized and got a copyright claim on my own material because my Dad's ring tone! Now on all shirts are blank, all brands are taped with electrical tape! I got lucky with one of my videos with background music.
Thank you for this. I’ve honestly watched this video a million times, everytime I have an issue. Question : If a video is blocked outright BEFORE I dispute, if I then submit a dispute (I really do believe it should fall under fair use) and they still deny it, will i receive a copyright strike? Or will it just remain blocked?
You’re very welcome! So if I understand correctly, if it’s blocked, and you dispute, it should open up again within 48 hours until YT reviews Then if it’s blocked again, you can either choose to re edit the video or scrap it….maybe Patreon? I wouldn’t dispute a rejected claim

Gacha reacting explained☠️
@@kloaf11reacts25 But they are reacting to someone's else's protected content. And they aren't offering anything insightful or compensating the OG creators.
Never. Not once.

Question: You respond to a "Copyright CLAIM", what if the video would have been marked as a "Copyright Strike"?
I love all of your videos, I’ve been watching you for the past month nice content 👍
Thank you!
Clarification. What happens when they don't allow or disallow after 30 days of dispute?
U can still have it up and people watching it.
same. very disappointed that youtube basically built a way around the creative commons free-to-use-with-attribution music space.
