I think it's awesome that your family shows up in your videos. It gives them a very REAL quality, which is one of your strongest features and sets you apart from other TH-camrs that don't get taken seriously.
I love how there are a number of people milling about in the background, and none pay the slightest attention to the guy making a video right in the middle of the room. "Oh, yeah, Josh is doing that thing again. Whatevs."
It surprised me that people still use underarm crutches. I guess its different in the US to the UK since I have never seen anyone use them here, so I always assumed that forearm ones were the replacement for them ridiculously big things.
I wish I had seen this when I was hobbling around pre and post knee surgery. It seems to me like forearm crutches would be much easier to relearn how to walk on.
I am glad I found your videos Josh. I have Cerebral Palsy since birth and I have always used the forearm cruthes, I tried the underarm crutches once in my life, didn't like them at all
In the uk I have never seen anyone with underarm crutches it just looks so old fashioned and bulky, even when you have a short term injury here they will give you forearm crutches
Left AKA here. I use underarm crutches that are fitted with a special pouch, underarm cushions, and grip cushions because I live alone and have to carry things for myself /all the time/. I'd like to use forearm crutches, but function is more important to me than form, and I think "looking like a invalid" is worth the ease. Just keep in mind that everyone's situation is different. Otherwise, great vid.
Shirley here, i have a hip that need replacement and i bought the forearm cruches and they really help taking the pain off my hip until i have surgery. I cant walk on one leg though with them maybe my weight i am 5"5 and weight 150#. But at least they do help a lot with walking.
I have to use platform crutches (due to severe arthritis in my hands - can't bare weight on them) which have pluses and minuses. I can carry stuff with handles (you should see me struggle up the steps of my apartment building with 4 grocery bags hanging on either arm/crutch - not for the faint of heart). But in terms of the aesthetics....ugh. Capital H. I'm going to check out Thomas Fetterman. Thanks for the tip(s)! I love, love, love your videos, Josh. You rock!
I am armpit crutches user and i would love to try the forearm crutches but I am a bit scared because I feel like I will easily fall when someone accidentally bump me
Im an Amputee using underarm crutches but how do you use your phone or using wallet when standing and keeping the crutches from falling and yourself balance at the same time?Im using underarm because i can use my armpit squeeze the crutches to keep myself balance while I need to do something or make payment with my hands. Thanks
I just got mine (bad knee) - nice Drive 10403 model from medical supply - and yes they are the best way to go. But there is an issue: for my hand, the handle needs to be angled down so I can get my entire palm on it - otherwise I'm only using 1/2 my hand for weigh bearing. Nearly every crutch model out there has the handles at right angles to the leg. I'm surprised this issue is basically ignored.
Hi friend... i am paralyzed on right leg and my left leg too is kind of 20% not working. however i managed to get rid of left underarm crutch. now i use only one right side underarm crutch. do you think i can survive using only right side forearm crutch?
thank you, I was trying to decide between the two. (cancer/neuropathy mobility issues) what brand are those? ps love the family everywhere, just all doing their thing! adorbs!
I have a question. I am 36 and am finding it harder and harder to walk. My body is covered with osteoarthritis from my feet up. What type of walking aid will be best for me so I can stay mobile and out of a wheelchair longer?
Hoping to get some forearm crutches soon. Recently got diagnosed with tendonitis. It might be with me for the rest of my life, doctor doesn’t know for sure though.
Nice quick review. thanks I've heard for those never using crutches before, like myself, forearm crutches may be harder to learn, (need more muscle development). My need is temporary for maybe a month or two for a hip labrum repair surgery which will require I am totally non-weight bearing on one leg. Would forearm crutches still be considered a better choice as a new non-crutch user?

I’m a new amputee. This video was sooooo help. Thank you!! 😁
Dude you got a good sense of humor because I'm laughing at your grandmother.
@Lolalolliepop11 yes indeed...it was Anna, my 11-year-old sister
I wish I had seen this when I was hobbling around pre and post knee surgery. It seems to me like forearm crutches would be much easier to relearn how to walk on.

I miss the good ole days of TH-cam. 14 years later, most of the world is using forearm crutches and US is still using axillary crutches.
Haha

Your gramma is soooo cute! She walks in like nobody's business, and someone-unseen's arm hooks her back. Classic.
"theres grandma, hi grandma" lol
Wow, he is great getting around with crutches. Very impressive. I'm jealous. Thanks for this video!
hahahaha I laughed so much when your grandma walked on screen.

I’m here distraught that I have to go to Europe for two weeks with crutches. Thanks for the perspective and inspiration!
I love that your family members made cameo appearances in this video!

I have never seen someone use underarm crutches, forearm crutches are so much more comfortable though I find they rub my hands a little.
thank you, I was trying to decide between the two. (cancer/neuropathy mobility issues) what brand are those? ps love the family everywhere, just all doing their thing! adorbs!

Crazy Americans. No one uses underarm crutches here in the Netherlands. You only see those in old movies. :)
Hoping to get some forearm crutches soon. Recently got diagnosed with tendonitis.

Sorry to hear that
@@JoshSundquist I got the crutches and they’ve helped a lot!

nope!
I have never seen under arm crutches before they aren’t really available in my country I don’t know why
Your grandma is cute. I have ms and the arm crutches. Trying to get used to them.
thanks man...
thank you i was hesitant on the forearm because of wrist strain, i have weak wrists, the underarm might have given me more balance
I've had a pair of hot pink forearm crutches since I was 8. ^__^
WOW👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I prefer forearm
i prefer forearm
Hi grandma!
wooo! go gma!
HI GRANDMA!!
I think forearm or underarm crutches same good. Can be beautiful crutching with Both. But crutches VS prosthetis?!
Underarm crutches support better than forearm crutches.
The NHS always give forearm crutches lol
Quick tip fit your crutches right then do your review 🙄
i’m a new amputee
