Thanks for the crutch info. My son has asked for custom made Fetterman crutches and now that I know that we REALLY can customize them I am excited to finally get GOOD crutches for him. Good by Walk Easy crutches hello Fetterman. Also never new he was out of Philadelphia, we live 40 minutes from Philli!!
thank you for that informative video :) just got my aCL repaired recetly (hours ago) and learnt something, just from watching this :) thank you and God bless you. all the way from Nairobi, Kenya :) take Care bro and stay sharp :)
It's people like you, Josh that inspire me so much. At the end during your Amputee Rap you say "the glass is half full, yeah i still got three!" and that's just amazing and it inspires me to always look on the bright side. You inspire me to turn my not-so-great things into amazing opportunities. Truly Amazing. God Bless You Josh. :)
I'm really glad I've finally heard of someone who has had a history of crutches breaking on them as well. I have Cerebral Palsy (C.P.), and the last pair I had, before my current set, snapped in half while I was going down a stair case (which is even worse than it sounds if you hear the full story), made me identify that purchasing crummy pharmaceutical crutches was harmful, and potentially life-threatening, for myself and my active life-style. A friend of mine took it upon himself to design and fashion me a pair of crutches out of aircraft aluminium, which I have used happily for the past 20 years. Admittedly they are not the lightest pair I've had, but that works for me, since I enjoy working out anyhow. It is a shame we are such a minority, as active people using crutches, but I am glad I ran across this video. Please keep them coming. :-)
I have cp; I have used lofstrand crutches over 25+ years. I'm glad you've found something that increases your independence! I've always just used the mass produced ones, this video makes me want to try others to compare. 💛
So Josh, there's this girl that's in a lot of my classes who I wanted to befriend, but I'm awkward and didn't know how. We were talking about books we had read the summer, and she said she had read Just Don't Fall. Thanks to that, we were able to have something to bond over, and now we're friends. We still talk about you, we had to pick a topic for a project and we thought about, because of you, doing something with amputees, and it's great having something to talk to her about. Thank you.
FINALLY! I have been looking for cuffs that opened on the side or were closed for a really long time. I saw you on a video once and I remembered that yours were fitted so that the crutches wouldn't fall off. I can't even tell you how long it took me to track this down. THANK YOU for posting about this! Also your song at the end made me giggle. :)
first all of all, thank you for this video. im 34 yrs old and use crutches due to polio when i was 3 yrs old. i just contacted thomas fetterman inc company and they do make cool looking crutches but expensive. under arm crutches made with rose wood..
Hi It's great to see someone copeing with being an amputee. I lost all my fingers and thumb in a wood chipper May 9th 2011 so new at this. Do you mind sharing how you lost your leg? I tried to start a groupo on face book up npo one visited it yet. Oh do you have nerve and phantom pains alot? Barb
I love how you say that we should hang out sometime :) I'm not an amputee but I have always watches your videos and you make it feel so personal -3 Ps-don't you live in arlington? I like 5 minutes away from there
Josh Sundquist I really appreciate all the videos u put up on amputee stuff I lost my right leg on may 26th 2015 I was on regular old school crutches till today I watch your video here the other day I couldn't afford awesome ones but I did buy some on eBay for 10.99 there not as, awesome as yours but I'm like to thank you for all the motivation
so just wondering how much walking around in the snow sucks? i've been on regular crutches in the snow after a knee surgery and i slipped like three times, not good. do you ever slip when it's snowy/wet/icy?
It’s nice to be around folks that understand what it’s like to be disabled. The awkward cane drop in public never fails it always happens to me in the middle of a nice dinner out.
Necro post, but thank you! I need crutches (maybe temp, maybe permanent) and was curious if forearm crutches could bear my entire weight and allow me to put 0 weight on my bad leg that is INCREDIBLY painful to bear weight on (and can buckle sometimes). This answered EXACTLY what I wanted in a concise way. Thanks!
I’m also in PhiladelphiaBut Im a Stroke Survivorand but I’m only using one forearmCrutches for. Walking because I’m walking an afoThanks 🙏 for this Information bro Will
Hey, I have asked my dad for crutches as I have a lot of pain walking and crutches will take some pressure off. I'm going to get the standard NHS forearm crutches, I hope to get some other ones when I get enough money. What ones do you recommend that are cheap but not grey/too cheap.
@brycerocks100 he talks about why he doesnt use one in his first episode of ask josh theres a link to it after this video its called: Would you want your leg back? do you have abs?
I've never had to use crutches (although once, I allowed myself to use my mom's old pair when I nearly broke my ankle) but I found this video rather interesting. :)
Josh So sorry you lost your leg & became an amputee . Since it ' s now over 5 years later have you got a prosthesis ? If so what brand & type did you get ? How did you go about getting the fetterman crutches ? Did you have to pay for them out of pocket ? I have go to Hanger Clinic on August 8 , 2016 to be fit for RGO (reciprocating gait orthosis ) leg braces . May I ask how you lost your leg ?
@rokerskate I've been trying to get him to come visit me too. He might be able to get my "juicer" to juice more efficiently. But I don't know. I sure hope so...

I use only one lofstrand crutch and wonder if there is a way to stop them from falling over all the time. Do you have this problem too?

The fact that you had your cuffs custom made partially for hugs is quite amazing.
Aww...you looked so sweet with your nervous smiles.

I wish I had known you when I first used crutches (broken leg) and tried to get on a bus that had narrow and high steps. SO funny.

I totally recognize that hug thing from when I had to walk with crutches ;)
Why did I just watch a video about crutches when I have no need for them??? Oh yeah, it's because I love Josh that much! :)
I'm trying to go from using a wheelchair to using something else. This video was helpful. Thanks Josh.
Was so engrossed in your video that I forgot about my bread in the toaster
I'm not an amputee, but I did find this interesting! Thanks Josh!

You are seriously the cutest guy on the internet

@JohnstasBACK he is a big brother... he has 2 little brothers and a little sister.
Your crutches are awesome~ I'm sure many people will find this really useful too! ^-^
My boyfriend has almost the same ones he has cp
@rokerskate I've been trying to get him to come visit me too. He might be able to get my "juicer" to juice more efficiently. But I don't know. I sure hope so...
@jwdesign336 even if you live in america (i do) private schools can do religion classes. I go to a private Catholic High school.
Why not use a buckle on the cuff?
I don't need crutches right now, but I still found this really interesting!!!
Yeah I don't need to know about this either, but it's interesting to know! :D
thanks for the informative video. :)
@Ibakecookiess I was thinking the same thing!

Love this video! I bet Ashley is behind the camera :)
Im not an amputee but this is awsome. thanks for the advice
@brycerocks100 Prosthetic limbs are uncomfortable and even painful for some people so they choose to go without one.

I gotta get me some of those crutches!
You have an amazing balance :)
It's funny because my crutches are right in front of me, wish I had those when I was using crutches, look so much more comfy.
@madmelidy31 your fruits will be so inspired
i kinda wish i had only one leg so that i could learn to balance goodly like josh
@brycerocks100 he has a video about that. i think it hurts him or something
i still wanna get these even if i only sprain my ankle
I am getting a walking boot tomorrow for my ankle that I sprained and/or crutches
josh rules
@brycerocks100 i think he said it was uncomfortable and heavy, and he's quicker without them :)
Is it weird that I'm hoping for a bionic leg review next? :/
awesome
You are adorable. Thanks for the information.
@jwdesign336
He had childhood cancer, and had to get his leg amputated. x3
I don't even need crutches and I'm watching this

I used to be as cool as you, but then i took an arrow to my knee. ...ooooh the irony
omg im here before the frozwn 300!!!
Dang it Josh. i wanted the only reason for you to have almost closed cuffs was because of the hugs.

I don't need this but i still watched haha :)
i love you josh
Hi Joshhhh :D
