    This video shows how to replace the alternator of Acura TSX, RSX, Honda Accord, Civc, CRX, and Element. Remove the power steering pump makes more room for the alternator to come out. Remember to unplug the car battery 1st before the works.

    It's a tight fit to get it out with the power steering pump attached. The two lower bolts are annoying to get out. Good job making the alternator easier to get out.

    Thanks for the video! subscribed for more good videos like this one around k-series engine.
    Needed this video for my 02 RSX. (I know you said 03, but I think it'll work for me too)

    I replaced my alternator earlier this week because the power steering pump leaked all over it which resulted in noisy alternator bearings. The two lower alternator bolts are easier to reach if you remove the condenser fan (the fan that is closes to the alternator). The fan has two electrical connectors (one on top to disconnect and the other midway on the side to unattach from the fan housing) and two bolts at the top you need to undo. Before removing the fan, youll also need to remove the coolant reservoir tank which is held in by two bolts. I was able to carefully turn the alternator and get it out without removing the power steering pump.

      Were you able to get the alternator bolts out without removing the front bumper and headlight? I’m gonna have to replace my alternator soon on my rsx as well lol

    I have an 02 RSX Type S, and my Motor Mount on that side is way bigger, and I can't get a tool on that Nut to loosen the Tensioner.

    I know this is a old video but I'm unsure if the CRV, Elements, and Accord has the same 2 piece fan like the Acura TSX. I went ahead and unplugged the sensors from there and the fan and wiggled the alternator out from there. Took me about 30 mins or so to swap it out.

    Question...DO ALL 02 AND UP HONDA K-SERIES CARS USE INTERCHANGEABLE/SWAPPABLE ALTERNATOR DESIGN? WILL THE SAME YEAR MODEL CR-V OR ACCORD (K24) ALTERNATOR WORK FOR SAME YEAR CIVIC SI (K20-A3) ALTERNATOR? PLUGS ARE SAME? PULLEYS ARE SAME?

    How come there's no power steering fluid when hose is removed?

    • @TheAnalogKid2
      @TheAnalogKid2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      okay, that's not a power steering hose.

    • @joehowto
      @joehowto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My way does not required to unhook the power steering hose. The hose I removed is connected to the PCV valve and not the hose connected to the power steering pump. Please watch it again. Thanks

      @@joehowto Thanks for showing it Can be done this way. Looking to do this on '05 RSX with recommended alternator.

    That's a POWER wire not a ground LOL the alternator CHARGES the battery and supplies POWER to the entire car while the engine is running
