    Vic would love to see a long form video on Sharkie. His early years, time in the big tank, why he is in timeout? etc He is a real lovable character

      A character alright. I'll make note of your interest. Sharky has been around, several 240s when young, then 25,000, then 1800, and now back to 240.

    Labeo chrysophekadion is one of the few monster fish availalbe readdily in Australia and they are real bastards when they get big...a behemoth specimen might tip a meter long. They will harras and bully almost any fish when the lights are out. They are super smart and very aggresive. Also that pleco is a pretty reasonable tank boss. He isnt really beating anyone up. A solid citizen.

      Yes, almost no damage on Sharky, just occasional tiny rips in tail edge.

    Vic, I’ve just recently got myself a black shark. She’s about 10 inches. I was worried that she would be a real pest but turns out she’s not too bad she’s a real character. She does get into squabbles now and again, mainly with my little Channa, Snakehead It’s a 220 community tank I’m assuming it’s a female, she looks just like your one quite fat and very awesome All the best
    mate 👍☹️

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. Ours has not been an all out horror either. There appears to be some room for variability. 10in is also not sexually mature - things will intensify after that.

    • @oscardean6351
      @oscardean6351 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Fish-Story oh no, I’m hoping she’ll be comfortable with her tank mates Which should ease things, some people think large Oscars eat anything that fits in the mouth but I have a small snake head in with a 12 inch Oscar and he doesn’t even look at It. Fingers crossed Vic, good luck with them red tails by the way so sad 😞

      No, this one has always done extraordinary well versus all specimen of the other common pleco species we have ever had.

    Apart from killing a tiger bichir my big black shark is going ok in the 6x3x3 still

    My moneys on the pleco long term, they can do some damage when really headbutting a victim and are just mean territorialy.

      So far pleco dominance over the black shark continues unchallenged.

  • @j_toledo419
    @j_toledo419 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks kinda like it takes him a lot of work to break down a single pellet. Does he take smaller ones whole?

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sharky has put on significant weight. It doesn't look like he needs help in the feeding department whatsoever yet...

  • @j_toledo419
    @j_toledo419 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think the pleco just wants to eat first lol 👍, and I just got off work and good and stoned but is that little gar in there with them or in the tank behind them,? 😁
    Update - I'm farther along and now see the Gar is in with them. So when you feed him does Sharky and Grumpy take any leftovers from bits the gar might miss?

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  ปีที่แล้ว

      It may also look like Grumpy got more than feed envy going for Sharky :) Yes, the gar is in the same tank. It hasn't fed 4 months. It had been fed live before and I bent backwards trying to get it to take non-live but so far no go. Grumpy and Sharky eat all gar feed unrivaled by it.

    Would a common Red Tail Shark get as big as Sharky?

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, these max out at around 6".
