A steel hull, incredibly robust doors and hatches along with unbelievable finish, craftsmanship and attention to detail. This is old school boat building at its' finest. I could easily imagine the 77 taking on the roughest seas with impunity.

Alexi builds the nicest explorer type yacht I've ever seen. His attention to detail is 2nd to no one. The interior doors he showed in the 145 foot video were amazing. The best thing is he is a down to earth guy and not an ounce of cockiness in him. I would of never thought a 60, 70 or 77 footer could include what I wanted but he some how stuffed it in there making everything looking like it belongs in 5 star hotel. More speed would be nice but why bother when in your in the lap of luxury, the other thing you sacrifice range for speed

The tour with the company owner was great. I particularly liked the sauna, the solar panels and the dual power options (US & EU). The rationale for overbuilding the expedition yacht said a lot about the Bering philosophy. You did a good editing job in a short time as we saw the soul of the Bering vessel. As an ex RAN sailor I can tell you it is the length of anchor chain that hold ships stable, not the anchor..
Like so many nautical questions, the size of the vessel and its purpose dictate the answer.
Big ships are generally equipped with “stockless” anchors. This type stows easily, and holds the bottom pretty well. There is a long straight shaft called the shank that is flanked by roughly triangular plates called flukes that pivot on a hinge at the end of the shank. The chain or other type of rode is attached to the other end of the shank.
When enough chain is laid out on the bottom, the weight of the chain on the bottom helps to hold the ship, and it ensures that the pull on the anchor is horizontal. When the ship “sets” its anchor, it means that it backs down to put a strain on the anchor, which digs the flukes into the bottom.
Conversely, when you heave the chain up, the ship moves forward until the chain is “up and down”, and the lifting force breaks the anchor free of the bottom. If it gets wedged by a rock, everyone is very sad. When that happens with a big ship, the anchor can be damaged, even to the extent of breaking the flukes off. The solutions are various, but especially with a small boat, or even a pretty big one, you may be able to slide a heavy ring or shackle with a strong rope attached down the rode to the anchor. With a little luck you can send your tender out the opposite way the anchor was set, and pull it out back the way it went in. Or you can put a buoy or some kind of float on the original anchor rode, and use the bigger boat in the same way to see if you can pull the anchor out backward.
Sometimes you pick up an abandoned anchor chain, or some old cable, or even some other ship’s anchor chain that is in use, if one of you were careless during anchoring, or the two ships swung with the tide, crossing chains, or one of the ship dragged over the other’s chain in a strong wind. Divers may have to be engaged, and a barge and a crane, and a tug.
Some designs of anchors for warships were meant to be easy to break out just by steaming ahead on them, in case you were being strafed and bombed. Further hilarity can ensue if you put two anchors out because of heavy weather expected, and they get twisted. Anchors and chains are heavy, but they are usually just heavy enough to do the job. Ships make money by using their buoyancy to carry cargo, not anchors and chain.

I like these, but honestly I think the 65' hits the sweet spot for me. The difference in fuel consumption for the 77' vs. 65' is like triple. As a result the range of the 77' is less than the 65' Explorer. The 77' is a whole level above the 65' but for me, the 65' is the one I would want to actually own.
