You need to do a video on every lake in California. Love your video keeps it’s coming. And thanks for sharing
That was interesting to see the trees still up didnt know there was a forest down there and fish resting on the floor very cool thanks . 👍🙂🍺🍺🍺
I started going here when it opened. I was a five year old kid. This was my dad's favorite place and of course mine now too. Thank you for a new way of seeing the lake i could only dream of. Ive spent hours snorkeling there throughout the years but obviously thats a limited experience. Hopefully you go again and possibly Perris as well. Thanks again!
Beautiful lake t grow up on! Glad I could have a video on this one. I do want to do Lake Perris soon. Cheers!
You should dive at Lake Perris on the Bernasconi beach side. The water is usually clear and lots of submerged trees.
That was really calming to watch
Dude please go deeper next time! There's a town under the water. I've always wanted to see what it looks like!
It's near the Dam I've seen the tops of man made Adobe type structures about 20 years when they were working on the Dam they had to drain & lower the water it was cool but at the same time kind of erie.🤯
Go deeper to see the town Im going to be scuba diving into this lake as I live not far from it but if the town is deeper than 90ft then its in tech diving / deep diving depth and that would need the use of a breathing gas called Heliox or TriMix " heliox is a gas that is a mix of Helium and Oxygen, TriMix is a gas that is a mix of Helium, Nitrogen, and Oxygen" depending on how deep you go and for how long you plan to stay down for requires these tech. Gasses to avoid getting Diving Illneses such as D.C.S. Decompression sickness "The Bends", oxygen Toxcisity, and Nitrogen Narcosis so to respond to " Go Deeper" you must not be a diver or you would know that in some cases deeper is not possible and if it is needs more planning and special certificates in order to get your tanks filled with special gas mixtures not just the normal air typicaly in a dive tank..
I love this video so much
Wow very nice video buddy 🤙 i like diving spooky sites it brings peace to me 😁
That was so awesome!!! I’ve been fishing that lake since the age of 5, I am 56 now. My dad took me the for my 1st fishing trip 👍I’ve loved lake fishing ever since. The place you can find a lot of fish would be by the Gazebo swimming side at the buoy line. I catch fish there in the summer when people are swimming. Thank you so much for this outstanding video!!! I hope you do many more! I will be subscribing
Hey thank you so much for the kind words! This lake is apart of your family and life. I’m so glad I could help remind you of such great times 😇 I’ll be making more!
Great underwater footage of this lake ; I’ve only dived in the ocean and have been thinking about doing a freshwater dive
Hey thanks! I highly encourage getting out to a lake or quarry when you have the time. It’s a whole new world. And it’ll help clean your gear
Surprisingly clean
That’s what I was so shocked about. Calm day, not much boat traffic, and of course late winter.
Incredible video... Watched every second of it. I fish Silverwood quite often, so it's fascinating to see footage of the bottom there and the dead tree forest. I really hope you do more from this lake, and others. Well done!! I will be sending folks to your channel through mine. Stay tuned.
Thanks urban outdoorsman i really appreciate it! The dive was a good experience and I hope to get to more lakes around here in the near future!
I’ve been wanting to do this as I never dove in a lake, I believe I would have to camp out for a couple days prior to the dive due to elevation. Definitely need to do some more research in lake diving.
@@jdub92706 you’ll be fine doing a few dives after driving up. It would be flying on a plane or going over mountains after the dive that would give you bends.
This was a great vid do another one if you can thanks for sharing so different parts of the lakes all the local lake in the IE will be cool Perris Big Bear how about some canals or aqueducts
I would love to, I just have to call the local law first to see if they allow diving in the lakes ahead of time. I've been doing more coastal diving lately. But thank you!
I went scuba diving in Silverwood years ago since I live in the area, but I went in over by Pilot Rock, & like you I didn’t dive where the small town is located though I wish I had, but it may be important to note: Sport Scuba Diving was not permitted here when I went in back in the 90s. Great post thank you, it makes me think I might have to go back, keep them coming, you rock!
I never realized you couldn’t dive here either. I made that mistake. Was it much clearer back a few years ago? I want to see that town so bad now that everyone keeps talking about it
No, it was very poor visibility back then too, which seemed odd at the time but I assume it was because Silverwood is such an active lake, but who knows right? And honestly the better lake to dive in the area is Lake Arrowhead (also illegal to dive) but there is an old saw mill in its depths, but it's clear & there is quite a bit of bounty to find beneath the private docks since it is a well to do area. Shoot you can even visit Lake Arrowhead Village too & make a day of it.
So cool man I used to fish here all the time before I moved!! Epic dive would love to collab some day
Sick
Really cool video! I’ve fished there before and wondered what it looked like down there, THANKS! I actually NAUI certified and never thought about diving there! Hope you dive more lakes!
Also, no one was out there on a boat fishing?
Thank you! If you get the chance try diving there with a shop. I’ll get to as many lakes as I can 💪. There weren’t many people fishing at all the day I went. Just recreational boaters.
I free dive in the ocean here off the coast in California. But going down in a lake always freaks me out. Not sure why. It has to be craytal clear or else I start to feel a slight panic. Great video your baver than me.
Hey lake diving takes practice is all. The ocean can be just as bad at times with visibility and the predators haha! A lake you should try is Lake Tahoe. I want to scuba dive there next! And thank you!
You left out that there are Carp and Goldfish in the lake as well.
I should’ve done a little more research on the fish. Wish I saw a goldfish!
New sub I wish the video was longer
Hahahaha! Next time I will work on a longer video for diving. It takes some time to fact gather and tell the story.
Please do a video at the old rock quarry crest mint quarry it is stupid deep
Let me look that up and see what I can do. Sounds exciting. Drop me a location for it or website
Amazing video I fish silverwood for carp that’s those golden scaled fish you see in schools where about is the spot you were diving with all those trees
Thank you! To my knowledge if you’re looking at the dam from the lake itself. The spot would be one of the entrance to the coves on the right hand side. There are picnic shelters built on the points around the area as well or close by.
@@bigacefilms
🐡is a 🐡
But when I think of carp
I think rough fish and not very sporting to me. P.B. 13.3
With holdover Trout
after the snow in Cleghorn & Millers Canyon
2-4 pound Bass all day long in Outhouse Cove spring and fall
Stripers for god sake cruising the Dam and Channel.
I’m just saying Why?
Looking for Carp “Why?”
This gave me so much anxiety lol idk I’d be scared diving under like that.
Filomeno, it is challenging but with years of training and experience this type of water is normal. Check out this video of you want black water and anxiety lol! th-cam.com/video/sK8-IlRmfaM/w-d-xo.html
Good stuff, man. What part of the lake was that?
This I think was near the northeast? There were some cabanas on the shoreline nearby for boaters to use.
Hey there, could you recommend how to get to any more private areas (at silverwood) like the one you entered the lake at? or good times where other people aren’t around? seems so peaceful
This was early March give or take and was on a utility road that the gate was open over near the left hand side of the dam. We got lucky I think because I don’t know if it is always closed. I’d say the off season in winter and possibly spring would be the best if you just want to relax in the chilly weather with a beautiful lake.
thanks ace for the reply! I want to get out there at a time where it’s not too chilly to swim to film something and find that sweet spot on the lake where it at least looks like no ones around for a serene feel
You should go dive on the other side of the lake were the underwater town is
Did you know there’s was a city down in that lake.
there’s a whole CITY under there and you chose to swim next to the trees?
Do you still live or travel to silverwood lake I need somone to dive the lake with, your experience diving the lake would be helpfull even if I endup doing a solo dive for planning at a min..
I haven’t been back to scuba there since. I heard you needed permission from the county first before doing it. I think they won’t allow it still due to the many tangle concerns. Worth a shot. I leave in sept for a new job so I don’t have much time to dive it if you figured out about the permission part. It would be fun again for sure. The bacteria might be a concern still considering it’s summer
@@bigacefilms tangle concern thats why we use bubby system and carry knifes i use 3 lol and bacteria well premedicate with a good wide specrrum antibiotic lol, I will check with the county because I would love to document the town below as long as its not to deep
@@bigacefilms I really would love to video it and turn it into like a short documentry or somthing to also include old photos and history of it and all
What's all that shiny stuff in the sand
That is silt, just the reflection of the sun on it. If my flippers stirred it up the entire area I was in would be cloudy and murky. Very fine stuff that is.
Was that a real duck or like a plastic duck ?
That was an actual duck. Saw a few more down there. I’ve seen decay on things and that was decay
Seems odd that you can't enter the water from shore.
I’ve never been anywhere where there were rules like this either. It has to do with diver safety and getting snagged on debris close to shore. I researched it after it was mentioned in another comment.
I’ve got about 7! 100$ glide baits I’d pay you to collect arround the sunken trees
😂😂 I’m so sorry Casey! That’s some expensive tree decorations now. Next time I go to the lake I’ll give you a heads up to see what I can find!
why can you dive from boat and not from shore?
The rules of the lake. I was unaware at the time but I believe it’s because there are so many underwater hazards that could potentially snare and trap an inexperienced diver.
Can you freedive there?
Very good question. I wasn’t supposed to scuba unless I had permission, but didn’t know. If you do I would be very careful either way and pick and off season to where it’s not stirred up.
Did you find any Swimbaits? 🤷🏻♂️
Actually if I pulled every fishing line I saw, I’ll bet you I would have found quite a few of them.
Do they have crocodiles? 😭
@@bigacefilms I’m from DTLA and it was my first time there but didn’t go in the water because it looked like there wold be 😭
@@edgarg.8884 just be wary of the bacteria level! I totally understand though, totally looks like gator territory. Not enough stuff for them to eat. Although I am curious to see how they would do in cali climate…
@@edgarg.8884 www.travellerselixir.com/where-to-see-crocodiles-alligators-in-california/
i was told there is mercury in the water there do not eat the fish if you want to catch them
I’m not entirely sure but I’ll tell you with the amount of particles I saw floating around I wouldn’t eat any fish from here.
Just curious if you know that was illegal
@@tyip5616 I was unaware and saw nothing that day stating that. As I said it has been rectified and it’s not going to happen in the future. Thank you for the heads up.
Surprised you didn't find any bodies.
@@bigacefilms lol I just remember that because I grew up all around there. Didn't mean to be rude lol.
Awesome!🤪 what is it like to wear a wetsuit?
@@bigacefilms woah i see, must've been very hard to move about in that thick wetsuit plus ur hood looks cute on you hehe😛
Too bad the public isnt allowed the "priviledge:
I’d love to go back and explore that lake. But now I know. Never again will I see those depths lol
Diving at Silverwood Lake is illegal in all capacities. You can not dive from a boat like you are stating.
I stand corrected. If you could post the latest statute so it’s on here that would be helpful for others who have the same idea. Or post a link to it. Thank you.
3:35 damn I didn’t know they had flatheads
There’s so few down there. If you were catching them specifically you may not even get one on a certain day going out. It would have to be an area or multiple days of fishin.
Memories! I used to work here ages and ages ago from spring, summer until we had to close for the winter. An old retiree loved to stop by the gate to show us his fish.
Ahhh that sounds super nice to work there! Beautiful place to relax and fish at as well. Glad I could bring back those memories!
