Well, hopefully it comes soon. So far I am enjoying mine. Captain Wifey and I are currently up in Newfoundland on it. I will be posting videos from this trip. Total of 12 days on the bike and 3 ferry rides.
Nice! I had a 2013 Multistrada for a few months which I sold and got the R1200GS. The suspension on the multi was just killing me and it had the fancy skyhook stuff too. GS such a more comfortable bike. Curious to see how yours compares.
I have the rallye version got her last sept new traded my awful 2022 s1000xr in for her got 2000miles on now no issues at all but i have no led headlight they gave me a voucher to have the adaptive headlight retrofitted they are now fitting the led in production but are taking so long to retrofit the bike shipped without it i notice yoyr bike sgipped also with the halogen headlight did you get a voucher for the retrofit led
Thank you for watching. I did not get the option for LED nor the heated seats. I was told the bikes being received now cannot be retrofitted either at this point. That's awesome if you received a voucher and they are doing that for you. 3 separate dealers told me the same thing, so I am pretty sure I am not able to have my bike retrofitted.
Interesting Chris. I too have a Ducati Enduro (2017 mind you) and also purchased a GS (R1200 2018). Huh!! So it will be interesting to see your GS comments in comparison to your prior Enduro. Oddly enough, my Ducati also has a (very minor) rear cylinder head gasket leak. Naturally I investigated the repair, which would be a significant amount of labour & machining so I opted just to live with a few drops of oil leaking every ride. No biggie actually. In fact, my Ducati has 130,000 Km's now and I've had zero issues thus far (other than the minor leak, that is). I also take my girlfriend for long tours across Mexico. I had thought that the GS would be far superior for her, believing the telelever suspension and the smoother ride would benefit. Also my GS has a larger seat. There's no doubt the GS has proven itself over the years. I've owned my GS for about 90,000 Km's with no issues. Oddly enough, she prefers taking the Ducati over the GS. She particularly enjoys the larger passenger hand grips on the Enduro and thus feels more secure. She's actually quite confident hugging me as I'm zipping thru the twisties, but on more relaxed straight sections she'll stretch out her back and grab onto the passenger grips, lean back on the center pannier. For me, my ride of choice is clearly my Ducati - I love the Terminogni sound, the roughness and crudeness of the bike, and most importantly the power (I've estimated 40% more than my GS). Clearly the GS has softer controls, which are particularly appreciated thru heavy traffic. Of course this is a total personal issue, and everybody has their own opionions about their ride. Happy for you. Good luck with the new GS.
Mine was leaking much more than a drop. I had to put oil in it every couple rides. I am very glad yours isn't leaking as bad and you are correct, I will miss the acceleration and sound of the Ducati. My wife also liked the Ducati better as it was more comfortable. :) She also did not appreciate having to cancel the trips though and she felt the BMW was acceptable. Only time will tell. Thank you for watching!
Good luck with the BMW. Hopefully for you you’ll not run into problems. As you might know I ride the same 1260 Enduro as you had. I have not had any problems with it (knock on wood it stays like that). I’m also at 13,000 miles now. Waiting to hit the 18,000 for the desmo service. Probably a hit in the wallet, but hey, I have owned Ducati all my life and am used to higher maintenance cost… Enjoy the Beamer.
Couple of months back I called up BMW Motorrad in Munich if they still ship them out with halogen headlights, but they explained that since November 2022 they are shipped with LED headlights again. So it's probably a September or October 2022 production model. New model years usually start in September after the production plant holidays
Welcome to the Geeser🤣🤣😉😉 family brother. Sorry to hear that the Duschcati failed you… I hope you’ll enjoy the GS as much as I did but sold it to get a GS adventure for the longer rides here in Arizona.
I also bought the GS Adventure. We love to explore fire roads when we are out and about. Definitely miss the riding back west though. I used to live in CA. Especially love Death valley in the winter. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
Congrats to a very nice bike, I traded in my 2020 Multistrada Enduro in a Road King. Wanna try a HD and see how it is :-) You will be very pleased with the BMW, I rode BMWs since 2007 before the Multistrada, GS and GSA. I liked the multistrada very much, had about 24k on it, and was getting close to the desmo-service and here in Norway that service is expensive. So I thought why not try a Road King, not sure what I have done, but I might buy me a 690 Enduro r also.. :-)
Congrats on the new bike Kjell. The Road King is a very different style of bike and if I had not had all the issues with my Multistrada, I would not have gotten rid of it.
I have thought about that as well. Those look like really fun bikes offroad. I would like to ride alot of the BDR routes here in the US but I am limited due to the fact I typically ride alone at this point or with Captain Wifey. The KTM 690 would make that much more feasible.
Also i finances allow i may visit toronto and have a 2 week car road trip down throuvh the states and around the great lakes and back up through canada
I have both and you don’t know what you’re talking about!... Since I bought my Gs in ‘22 I’ve covered nearly 10k miles. Over that same period of time, my Multi has covered 170miles! Yep, 170 miles. That’s how good a Gs is.
Good call. I’ve got 27k miles on my ‘22 GSA and it runs flawlessly and takes off-road abuse like a champ.
Excited for you...I'm still waiting for mine.

Enjoy, one to note, the dealer won't lubricate the shaft splines, other than that the bike is a monster.
Congrats. GS is a nice ride.

Thanks Michel! I hope you continue to have an issue free experience with your Ducati! Hope you move to CA went smoothly.
2023 BMW R1250 GS Adventure but no LED headlight?
Yep, BMW did not allow them to be ordered. Also didn't have the heated seat option available.
@@Fentventures So strange. I get my Trophy GSA with an Adaptive LED light. 3 months ago (in Europe of course)

I would like to trade my RKS for something different NOT better but every time I think about it I say I’ll keep it😂😂
@@Fentventures I had to buy me a KTM 690 Enduro r too which I can play with in the mountaines 🙂

That sounds like a fun time. Drive safe and enjoy the adventure.
