I' a techno purist, but when listening to AR's stuff, I make an exception. I love all his albums, so well produced and engineered. The guy is a true master of the genre. Utter respect.
great interview this guy is really in touch with his sound.. he has built an amazing environment - look up his tune 'Hacker' if you want to hear the perfect example of his work.. I used to play this tune.. amazing sound Scape at volume and now I understand why!
Anthony's studio architecture is similiar to Ableton Live. Production studio = Arrangement-View and Jamming studio = Session-View. I think it's maybe the reason why he is also called Little Computer People :D
One of the best electro producers ever. "Simulationszeitalter" is on my top 3 list of best electro albums ever. Brutal. But my god, he can be cheesy sometimes ( 4:34 ) 😏😁
Difficult to find, and even more difficult to find a working one. There are several stories of people building a working Wave out of multiple donor machines. Super desirable.
He builded his studio modular, that's what he says in the interview. Nothing wrong about it. The definition of modular is designed with standardized units that can be fit together in a variety of ways. An example of modular used as an adjective is in the phrase "modular furniture," which means furniture made with standard units and parts.
sassy mobile companies, nice. yeah im well aware of what modular means, and i totally understand what anthony rother means by calling his set up modular, but the reality is that when we're talking modular in the same sentence as synthesizers there is a standard meaning, and that is the kind with that comes in a rack with patch cables. To title the video as about modular is, i think, wilfully misleading. but yeah i don't really mind, so it's not worth getting defensive over, i was just pointing it out as i and a few others in the comments obviously came here to geek out on modular synths
i realise it looks like i'm calling a perfectly sensible response sassy, but i was responding to telekom's original unedited response which was "you know what modular means, right?"
Great Guy, great video, cool topic Telekom. I also disagreed few times like Kelly here ;) - for instance when He said "I also have some analogue stuff like Lexicon and M-One and H8000 from Eventide" - actually these few effects while they sound amazing are one of the most digital stuff in the industry, like ever. Yeah I also don't like everyone slaps "Modular" (also Organic, Bio and Gluten-Free :D) label on everything- yeah, amazing collection of vintage synths but by design (they are mostly digital and they have only audio and midi output - no triggers, gates and control votages and all that modular jazz) they cannot connect with eachother like modular block are. Last but not least - "Look Mum, no computer attitude" - It's just too hard to believe he programmed Nord Modular on a typewriter machine, or those 2 monitors are just there for the mood... and PAZ Analyser. Just have fun, grab what you need and make music no need to act like You are a some sort enlightened monk of electro but thats my opinion- some people are after this I bet ;)

One of my biggest inspirations! Love his music and the way he approaches his studio.
Living in the future 👍
Love the way he deals with live performance showing how skillful he is
Love the idea of having a "jam studio" separate from the main studio.
Absolut klasse
love the part about visualizing sound. very well said
Nice to hear what Anthony has to say about his gear ✨❤️👍
Finally! I have been waiting for this so long.
Awesome video of a great artist! Those studios are epic! Love his gear!

Klangkosmonaut! ❤️
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Elektro!
Anthony's studio architecture is similiar to Ableton Live. Production studio = Arrangement-View and Jamming studio = Session-View. I think it's maybe the reason why he is also called Little Computer People :D
what a room! so many great ways to make music today! most producers I know don't even use keyboards anymore. do it all on pads with a laptop.
Big inspiration this man.. True artist.
😁😁😁 Jawoll!!! Genau so!
master of electro !!!

Wow

pioneer
4:01 spot the cirklon
Does anyone knows what tubular rack system Anthony uses?
Guess you mean the Jaspers?
wish he could expand on how he uses the nueron
Tell me please, how many instruments are connected to one 32-channel mixer console?
In other studios, the console is even smaller, and the tools.
Magadan - Patch bay probably connected so he can quick switch. Most people with lots of gear only have some connected to their mixer at any one time.
Yep, the opening shot shows him connecting via a patchbay.
that old waldorf sound so distinct. what is that big ass waldorf keyboard?
Waldorf Wave, very rare and expensive.
Difficult to find, and even more difficult to find a working one. There are several stories of people building a working Wave out of multiple donor machines. Super desirable.
And for sale
www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/waldorf-wave-synthesizer-16-voice-speed-board-/888924457-74-4522
what synth does he use in 3min?

Meine Liebe, Katarina! Icj liebe dich! Always and forever!
Und kommt dabei auch was nettes raus?

@@Miscellama Thanks a Lot. Amazing sound

If only he would play in the uk, somewhere other than fabric, does he hate the uk?
WhErE is ThE MoDuLaR?!?!? LMAO
Does anyone know what type of controllers he’s using ? The fader ones on his desk are they avid ? What’s those buttons above them ?
It's his Avid SC48 Venue Live mixer like he says in the interview
Telekom Electronic Beats ahh thank you
try be more hessisch. you cant
It‘s possible, believe me
? I don't get it?

Title it synth utopia, dont be throwing in modular as clickbait

Get a grip - nobody cares mate 0:16
totaly missed the point dude
Too bad he forgot how to make music after Simulationszeitalter.
interesting studio but the music ive heard from him has no depth .. kind of like from a spoiled kid with too many toys. keep going anthony!
🤔
doesnt know chords huh
Yet he released several celebrated albums and countless videos since you left your comment. Apparently, it does not hold him back.
Just a bunch keyboards making generic techno. Where is the modular?
You‘ll get the answer in the video
A router?
