We love going to Target for our gift cards. Some of the warehouse stores offer discounts on them too, but generally they are not as much as Target, or if they are, it’s seasonal. For example, Sam’s Club in our area is offering a special on Disney gift cards for a few days starting on Thanksgiving. That’s the exception though, not the rule.
We don’t have Sam’s Club around here, so that’s not an option for us. That’s one of the reasons we like the Target option so much. Thanks for watching! 👋
These tips are super helpful! We’ve used gift cards to pay for our resort stay. We get gift cards sometimes for Christmas or birthdays and we keep them locked away safely and look forward to using them on our next vacation! 😊
Thank you for this Informational Video!! I was able to save $140 dollars on $1000 dollars worth of Gift Cards and consolidated them all to one single card.
Tl;dr: if you want to use gift cards for meals at WDW and combine them digitally, load them onto a physical card that is linked so you can pay like a normal person. Don't try to pay with the digital barcode on your phone. Just an FYI about our experience with Disney gift cards...I bought $1000 worth at a discount over time to use as our food budget. Our plan was to use our magic bands to pay, then pay it off every night at the resort front desk using the gift cards. I read this is a common thing people do. Our first dinner was Morimoto, and we charged it to the room. When we went to the resort to pay with the gift cards, it wasn't in the system yet at 11:30pm. Overnight, our CC on file was charged twice (the bill was over $200). We were then able to pay with the gift cards, but it took a few days for the extra charges to fall off the CC. So we decided to just use the digital gift cards on my phone to pay for our meals going forward. For mobile ordering, I had to cut and paste the gift card number from the email every time. It wouldn't store it as a payment method. When we went to a sit-down restaurant, managers sometimes had to get involved. I actually had to go into the Ohana backstage area to scan my phone and approve on their machine. I don't mean to sound whiny! Just putting the info out there.
Thanks for sharing your experience. That sounds really frustrating! We do a mix of paying with our gift cards directly and using our magic bands. We haven't tried loading the gift cards onto our accounts yet.
Hello! I have a question, sorry if I didn´t undertand but Im not an english speaker. Can I have the gift cards at Walmart by cash? And if I have one of 100 usd and one of 50 usd, Can I consolidate them and pay my ticket to Disneyland California?
Thank you for the tip! Q- if I have more than $1,000 in gift cards, how can I put that money toward my vacation package if the website only allows one gift card (up to $1,000)?
We're DVC members, so we haven't booked Disney vacation packages in a few years, but I seem to recall that you can make payments on the vacation packages. I would try to make a payment towards it using one gift card at a time. If it doesn't give you that option anymore, try calling. They should be able to help you with applying a payment.

Yes! That’s a great way to use them! I’ve even applied them to my charges at Disney resorts before checking out. Thanks for watching!

Can you pay for Genie+ with the gift cards? If so, did you run into any issues?
I have not tried to pay for Genie+ with gift cards. I'm not sure if you can.

@@TheMagicInTheMusic I didn’t think of that. That payment plan before the total balance due could work… thanks for your help :)
Do you use this gift card strategy? What’s your favorite method to save money with Disney?
All this work to only get 50 bucks for a 1000🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yeah, for some people, the time spent doing this wouldn't be worth it. It depends on your situation.
@@TheMagicInTheMusic Yes, it's certainly worth a few minutes of my time to save money!
