  • The state space form of a lead or lag compensator is important for time domain simulation. However, as a proper transfer function, it can be tricky perform the transformation state space. In this lesson, we show two ways to manipulate the lead or lag compensator transfer function to determine an equivalent linear time invariant state space model. To support the claim of equivalence of each state space model to the lead compensator, the step response of specific lead compensator is compared to step responses of each state space model. The underlying computer code is reviewed in detail. Finally, the role of a lead compensator in the air speed control loop of an automatic landing system is illustrated.

Great videos. Thank you for sharing. I guess there is a problem at 2:45, it should be Y = KXs - KXz . Also time domain form would be y(t) = Kxdot(t) - Kzx(t)
But at the end result is correct. Looking forward to new videos.
