John & Matt, another great video on a very unique car with all your tastefully done mods & improvements (labor of love, for sure) that you guys put into it ! I remember the 6 wheeler from last year. It looks fantastic now . Great job guys, Essy Fariab 😀👍
I had the pleasure of touring that museum a few years back while visiting my brother in Sacramento. Sorry the Land Rover wasn't there back then but I did watch it on Car Trek and enjoy the back story by John.
Hey, have ever considered doing a retake on your amazing stories that you do on Vin Wicki....for those who don't know about that channel. I never get tired of the R.V. one!
I have done this same roof rack for my 1995 LWB buying 2 pieces from eBay and putting it together and making it one big rack, cost me only 200$,it was 6 years ago
John, I think if you contact British Motor Heritage Trust, give them the chassis number, they can give you the history. It might be a nominal charge though.
Costs about $50 You get a nice certificate 🙂 I'm sure it's also possible to get a full list of previous owners from the DVLA in Swansea. It's also a paid service
You kniw what would be the perfect thing to do with it, get a nice sized battery from a wrecked EV, make the rear axle electric, that way it's a plug in hybrid, you wouldnt need 6wd for long distances or high speeds, you'd get regen braking, you might even be able to take some of the accessories off the engine and make those electric to get more effiency and power out of the little V8, it would deffantly come off the line quicker in combined gas electric mode. Beyond that a 4.6L or Buick 300/340/350 swap possibly with aluminum heads and intake or even the cathedrial port looking 350 heads could be pretty mean and still very light and torquey. Of course dollar for dollar an LS swap, even a 5.3 is probably going to destroy an Rover or Buick V8 on power, fuel economy, everything.
There is a six wheel rover for sale on classic cars... But, this one is a red truck. It's so weird and wonderful but, at $165,000.00 a little bit out of my range 😊
John @FicarraClassic She was MOST likely originally a Fire truck in the UK especially with the Tag (Lazy) axle as many of the early 2 doors were. I have a few Classic Rangies and I recall reading an article someone wrote on them in the 80's as a cheap project base in a RR Club magazine.
and yes, this 6 wheeler has appeal.. i can understand that. But as you say, unless a true 6x6 it has weak points.. I do like it in a quirky way... but LS swap would be a must for such a poor engine it has
I hope you get to do the 3rd driven axle install and do video on it, that would be cool to see

Always puts a smile on my face watching Ficarra geek out over vehicles!!
What a cool truck to see in person. The kids dug it.
Love your passion John / Keep it coming 😎😎😎

That’s in the works!
John is like Jay Leno, but on a ramen noodle budget... and that's a compliment in case anyone wonders! :D
I went to see this truck earlier in the month of July, was nice to see in person! Hello from Canada! Also seen you at Radwood SF 23! Good to meet you
yay field trip!
we never left 8th grade with John! love it!
yes 6 wheels is just so awesome! more the bettah
I love how the stanchions in a auto museum look like valves.
Man you know a lot about this vehicle. You deserve to own it. Great video.
so rad! thanks for the video
I saw a six wheel Range Rover fire engine yesterday, super cool in person.
A Range Rover with an MG V8 Sebring engine would have been the Hennessey Raptor 6x6 of the 70's !!

The key was widening it. Totally makes the difference!
Love the more in-depth story and the happy accident that ended with me and my son owning another car from the Cal Auto Museum?
Looking fit bro
Thanks John,
RE: Vids from U & Ed.
Do you want to hire a continuity guy?
Best to you Scott 🏁
Six wheels are best!

Of course, double oil catch pans.
It saddens me you don't own this and it's for sale
It was for sale for 80K
They have an EV1 it's pretty cool

Only take 10 guys to get rack off truck.😄
Would $30k buy it? Another $10k for the 6x6?
That’s….Old Man Emu, suspension
6 wheels and also about 6mpg (probably)
if both axels aren't driven then I see no practical advantage
British crap. never seen the appeal in unreliable stuff. LR, RR etc.. Go Toyota..

THAT 6 WHEEL RANGE ROVER IS A REAL PIECE OF CRAP ¡¡¡¡!!!!!
