This is harder because it would be a production challenge to cover a lot of ground and days but it could work.

This was the first Car Trek where I preferred your choice. Even as poorly as it was built, I can see so much potential in that Range Rover that it bothers me that I don't have the opportunity to work on it myself. Thanks for all of the series and for this one on Christmas day!
Love Car Trek and closely follow all three of your channels. Here are some possible ideas for a future CarTrek: - A Baja-style race using cheap hot hatchbacks - A winter trip through the Rockies - Customizing cars/trucks into hot rods while driving to the Detroit Autorama, where your version of the Ridler Award is the prize
My suggestion is each of you driving a very early hot hatch, something like late 80s Peugeot 1.9 205 GTi. Then find some good twisty roads with not much traffic.
My idea for a car trek season would be diesel (or gas) trucks under the price of a 2023 Ford Lightning. You guys haven’t done any car trek seasons about trucks and I feel like this kinda runs along the line of season 8 with gas guzzlers beating a Tesla. Maybe one of the challenges would be towing a heavy trailer across a long stretch to a truck show or something or another challenge would be putting your trucks on a pulling sled and see which one is best or seeing if they can out perform a ford lighting. It’s just an idea but you guys haven’t done a car trek season on trucks yet and I’d be interested in a season about trucks
2 of my favorite Top Gear/Grand Tour episodes, were the caravan specials. Using an impractical vehicle to tow a camper trailer Or simply buying a drivable RV, and doing performance upgrades to the big blocks that are in them.
Let some other famous TH-camrs pick your cars for you. And I have loved every Cartreck that you have done. I watched your first Christmas special again the other night. It was so funny!!!!! I loved the funny skits too. I look forward to the next 10 episodes. Thanks to all of your and your crew that film and edit these adventures. And a big thanks to your sponsors.
I really like car trek, and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into producing the series. My favorite seasons are the ones that feature less expensive cars and less formal challenges. Id rather see you all buy 3 cars with a reasonable budget or maybe allow a modification budget. Id rather see a more in depth series i can become invested in, rather than 3 episodes with one extravagant challenge
Some ideas for future cartrek: Sleeper’s for a max of 20.000 ( modified or not) // Buying each other cars ( just to fool around ) //Best Examples of horrible, or unappreciated cars
Since shipping issues seem to be the topic of discussion lately why don't you do a CarTrek delivering 400 cases of critically needed parts to Jared in Atlanta, Georgia from Texarkana, Texas. The twist would be each of you would be starting out from your home and devising the best way to get to Texarkana pick up the parts and deliver them to Jared first.
I like this idea. If I may suggest, have them all purchase the vehicle they're going to use IN Texarkana, leave at the same time from a parking lot, pick up the parts, and then head off to Georgia.
In my opinion this was the best episode yet! From the editing, to the way it was filmed and executed. Hats off to you guys for creating something so great.
Ed, Love the content, stories and people you have on! My Car Trek Idea: get 3 late 1970s American SUVs and crown a champion! Let's say 1978 -82 range Ford Bronco, Chevy Blazer and Dodge Ramcharger. People would go CRAZY for that idea!
I would love to see you do cheap pickups. It would be way off brand for Ed and Freddy, Tyler it would make more sense as a Kansas guy. I can see people rolling up in Utes or Elcamino’s or a variety of things to represent a truck.
I enjoyed the multiple car challenge however with a couple changes actually stick to the budget to keep it fair. Different challenges along the way. At the end auction the cars off to see who can profit the most plus gives people a chance to open car trek cars.
idk how into this u guys would be but maybe u could do a cheap muscle car episode maybe like 10k budget to go out and buy a cheap V8 powered rwd muscle car
Thought it was your best one, by far. What about Alaska, I've always heard the roads are pretty demanding there. Or, maybe something in your wheel house, fixing up flood cars and taking them on a road trip?
Can you do a high mileage pickup truck run where you have to load and unload several pallets? Some motor cycles, some scuba gear and tug a small sailing boat. And finally find a way to go up a hill with a steel hull powered boat on a trailer and park it in a service center to have the boat engine serviced?
Ed and Shmee are by far the the most articulate, automotive TH-camrs. Ed is also pretty damn funny. Ed is not cognizant of this fact, but he and I are neighbors.🤫
Id love to see a "best 3 car garage" condensed into one car each but still has to do all 3 styles of thing. Maybe not to such extremes but say rally instead of trails like this, a normal track, and some daily segments like parking, load capacity etc. and style as judged by the public like the "supercars for a z06." I'm sure you could make an episode out of each.
My suggestion for the next Car Trek is do one derived from the Carrera Panamericana, driving from the southern tip of South America to the northernmost point of Alaska. It would obviously be a huge project that would take all of you guys away from your significant others and families for several weeks or months but I think a big 2-3 month series worth of shooting (given weekly uploads - I’m figuring 1 hour episodes every week so it would be 8-12 episodes) and I know it will be very expensive but I feel like sometime in the future that would be an awesome series. Maybe that could be a long term dream or goal for you guys.
Car Trek 10 was fantastic, maybe even the best y’all have done so far. You asked for ideas, and I have one. You might shoot it down immediately, but I think if you fly somewhere, anywhere, look on social media and buy motorcycles for a grand or less and ride them back to the starting point.
Give them each a trailer and have them buy the cheapest vehicle to pull it and the cheapest track car to put on it. Then have them visit a few race tracks and do some racing challenges. Also it would be fun if they had one of the professional drivers they know play a Stig type character. The last one with the super cars would have been awesome to see a professional run those around the track and give us a good comparison of how good or bad they are.
Idea for a Car Trek!!!!!!! Transportation is always a huge headache in the car hobby. It always comes with a large contingent of horror stories from either the Transporter's themselves or more likely the car owners who are having the Vehicles transported. For Car Trek, the three of you could get budget transporting rigs and try your hand at transporting cars!!
Here's a thought for a Car Trek series: Do semi-off road vehicles (like WRX, SUVs, other adjacent things) and start near Moab, UT in the summer and do off roading from there and head east through Colorado (and you've GOT to do I70 through Glenwood Canyon, US 6 Loveland Pass, and Rocky Mountain National Park) and eventually end up at Omega for the Car Wizard as a final checkup. Summiting Pikes Peak in your vehicles would also be worth it, but that's a bit farther south and may be slower than you want to go.
I had another CarTrek Idea - Each of the 3 picks a car, no overarching theme. Could be an SUV, could be a sports car, could be whatever. Then, each of the 3 also creates a challenge; race, offroading, most storage. Now in order to prevent each person from just picking a challenge they would win based on the car they bring, on your challenge, you're also given a handicap. That way if you bring a supra and the other two have a sedan and an SUV, you don't just win your challenge of a race for example. It would take some tweaking, but especially if you could actually "unveil" the cars to each other during the episode it would make it cool to watch. Imagine Freddy showing up in like an old MR2 Turbo thinking he's going to win a race challenge, but Ed or Tyler pulls up in like an old ZR1 corvette and smokes it. Could even do a spin off of the "dream garage" and have multiple cars/challenges. Fine tune it and you have a CarTrek series!
Do a road trip in a different country, like cheap rally cars tour true Scandinavia. You can race each other in a tunnel, drive on a icy lake, get some behind you to go skiing, or tow a shed etc.
I have to say this was the best one yet, I have truly enjoyed all so far but apart from the super-cars for the price of a C8 this was the best. I think a road trip in old cheap vans converted for a budget giving you 2-3 days and nights out like the 3 blokes who purchase heaps then modify them for tenting. Start in further away place and then make your way to base.
Cartrek 11 needs to be the versatility of pickups... they can do it all from winning a car show, race tracks, overlanding, hauling/towing things.... the list goes on
I always dreamt of doing challenges like this with my friends so I have a few ideas: 1. Buying a car and making a trip with it for the price of a plane ticket for that trip. 2. Fastest cars possible, for the price of a ferrari rental (1 week's worth for example, or 1 month) 3. Underappreciated cars: each has to buy a car that in their opinion will soon shoot uo in value. 4. This one I actually did and it was fun: Track day challenge for the price of consumables on an expensive trackday car. To clarify, a friend has a professional 997 turbo for track use. We tallied how much each outing costs him (tyres, petrol, break pads, trailer rental, mechanic) and bought cars for less han that (second hand tyres, breaks from other cars ratehr than big break kits, etc.) and raced him. Whoever was closest, won. 5. Perhaps an episode in europe? Buy a car instead of getting a rental, drive across parts of europe and maybe at the end import the cars to the states. Whoever makes the most wins? Hopefully you'll like some ideas. Hope you get this far in the comments to see them :)
A cartrek idea: 3 pre-1980 cars (but newer than 1969), with engines under 4 liters and AMERICAN made and MUST be under $5000. Road trip from Chicago (north side) heading north, then west through North Dakota and Montana and end up in Boise Idaho. I suggest a Ford Pinto, a Chevy Vega/Monza and a Dodge Dart/Plymouth Duster. Best fuel economy, fewest breakdowns, etc.
The Chevy Spark, I think it is... I had to rent one of these for a few days, and I hated every one. For starters, the gas and brake pedals are right next to each other, and all the way on the right side of the foot area, really made it a pain to drive. Anyway, three econo-shitboxes should be interesting.
@@MK-1010 Yeah small cars actually used to be fun like the old classic Civic hatch the EG model and of course the French Peugeot hatchbacks but us never got those and of course the old two-door Corolla hatch that everybody loved in Japan but that was the performance spec model the AE86 Of course I'm just messing around here even though it's all true.
Just a suggestion. The next-ish Car Trek should be cheap off-road Ford/Chevy/Dodge-Ram pickup trucks. Y'all can haul camping gear etc. Basically roughing it in the outdoors.
Fantastic Car Trek. Please keep the series going, I like the idea of super cheap, and or economy cars, crossing a mountain range, with their little engines, going up steep hills, and sleeping in tents attached to them.
For the next Car Trek maybe try getting utes (pickups) and doing challenges like towing (totally not caravans as that has never been done before), carrying capacity, fastest etc. I'm not a truck guy but it is something you have not done yet.
Hey Ed, Car Trek 10 was great & your 6 wheel Range Rover proved "interesting"! I must say that my favorite Car Trek car of yours was Mona!!! I really liked Mona, I felt your pain when she hit the tree!! I still miss Mona!!! Thanks Ed for Car Trek & VinWiki!!! 👍👍🙂
what about a 'cannonball'-like run? you wouldn't have to be so serious about it. cool forgotten cars that were obscure in the day - say 1980:2000. doesn't even have to be across the whole country, just a handful of states - maybe pick a region of the country - maybe even a different smaller country.
You should totally do an episode abroad, like in Japan or Europe where you go on the ultimate road trip and show the process on how you ship/import it back to the states
I could listen to Ed Bolian talk about paint drying as he watched it live and never get bored! Honestly one of the coolest TH-camr’s out there and definitely one of my 3 favorite of all time. Would love to sit down with him for a week straight and pick his brain about everything automotive 🚗! One of the best 🏆 @EdBolian #EdBolian 🤘🏼🏁
Like others have said, the fun cheap cars are more enjoyable to watch. How about finding or making the most obnoxious Volkswagen buggy for sand dunes and beaching? And if I may, the silly approach that was reminiscent of the original Christmas special (Freddy crashing the rolls into a tree, Tyler covering his car in paintballs) is one that was sort of lacking in this one. I’d love to see a bit more banter between everyone, the pranks, and the little games! Thank you guys for bringing us such a spectacular series though. I think I speak for many who say we really enjoy watching them all
i would love to see a cartrek that involves you guys finding the SMALLEST cars on Autotempest for under 10k. Stuff like fiats, smart cars etc. Track them, do a parking challenge, do some distance driving. With how tall yall are its comedic and entertainment value would be fantastic.
Got an idea for the next car trek. You know the way both lamborghini and porche are making offroad supercars. Well what if you guys could make your own offroad sports cars for cheap and bring them somewhere similar to the Oregon trail.
Ideas for future series - keep branching out! In the spirit of the 6-wheel Rover, how about an entire series on limousines? Hearses? Should be easy to find on AutoTempest. Or vans as someone suggested... or even RVs? Does Tyler still have his conversion van?
Honestly that thing would be amazing once sealed properly, 6 wheel drive, and maybe try to add some more power to it to make up for the higher stress from 2 more powered wheels and another differential
Enjoyed the super-episode. Maybe do a CarTrek that features really low horsepower sports cars of days gone by. Take the cars and run the Blue Ridge Parkway (where you can't go fast anyway and an under-powered car would be perfect). Just an idea.
remember that in top gear, sometimes they did sort of builds like the boatyota to cross the english cannal, or the campervan episode, well being a knock off, why don't you do a more landed build, like 9 second 80's drag race cars, or a 10k time attack car, or the fastest car for less than 8k, or one of the famous motortrend cheap truck challenge, you guys haven't done anything with trucks yet, anyway, i just enjoy watching whatever you guys coock, have a happy new year
The next car track!!! Since I am a boat captain, how about a tow vehicle with a boat. You could do a couple call vehicle challenges, as well as one small, boating excursion.
Something that I think would be a cool idea for a future cartrek, is buying ‘80s American sports cars with a budget of $20,000 or less. Have the first episode being a reveal, and doing necessary repairs on them. Second episode, have them participate in something like one lap of America.
Corolla GR challenge. For the price of the Corolla GR including mark ups, so $65k ish, Ed buys an exotic, Freddy builds a rice rocket, a Hoovie drives the GR. Challenges must include daily tasks that favors the GR, like picking up a bunch of ppl and groceries to go snowboarding, commuting in traffic, etc. one track test is fine, but it should be endurance based over 10 laps or more. Unlike the vette challenges where you didn’t actually have the vette participate, I think it would be cool to have the Corolla participate. Also doesn’t have to be the CGR, could be any hot new car. Bronco Raptor, regular raptor, defender 130, vette again, 911 T, etc.
Loved #10! A couple ideas, one is much more feasible than the other: NYC is one place you DON'T want to break down, especially in Manhattan or on the highways! Summertime would be the best (or worst, depending) time to do it. Don't know what kind of vehicles, but definitely of questionable reliability! The trek could end with a track day. Monticello is a private, club owned track that can be rented, about 90 miles north of the city. Lime Rock in Connecticut is about 100 miles away. Much further south is a track near Atlantic City, perhaps 5 hours away.
A Hooptie challenge! Cheap Econoboxes from the 70's or early 80's! A Pinto, a Vega, Chrysler K car. $2,000 limit. You see what you bought at the meet up point. Buying only based on text desc and pics. No prep of the cars in advance! First challenge to make them road worthy.
Hey guys! I live in maine and having yall come up and do " the most impractical car for driving up mt washington" or "the fastest hillclimb for the lowest cost" would be hilarious. Thanks for the great content boys, feels like the good old tg days!
You guys could do a mini van challenge!! When my kids were baby's, we had a Ford freestar that was a great kid hauler but was depressing. You guys should make bad ass mini vans for us dad's that did time in one
My recommendation for the next car trek would be small and cheap hatchbacks because you don't really see those on the road in the US so there will definitely be some interesting cars.
I would love to see in the next car trek series. Ed’s, Tyler’s and Freddy’s favourite car from when they were growing up/in there teens early 20’s either the car’s from which they could afford at the time or there favourite car from that era or just the craziest or highest hp or wildest car that they’ve seen at that time.
I'd love to see Car Trek goes to Baja. Doesn't even need to be a 3 car competition deal. Some of my favorite moments in Car Trek are when you guys are all in a car together just talking trash at each other.
As for Car Trek ideas, how about cheap or not-cheap iterations of: rally builds drag & drivers baja/desert runner builds mud boggers donks sleepers lowriders military vehicles minivans semi trucks RVs any brand non-typical road legal vehicles (Polaris, Slingshot, ect...)
One idea for a next cartreck : you get cheap 4x4 pick up trucks, maybe american classics (rams, f150, gmc) you start in north california so you will have plenty of nice roads and access to some of the nicest park in the usa (sequoia; yosemite, joshua tree etc..) you finish the trip in cerro gordo (Ghost town living on youtube) it’s next to death valley where you will be abble to test the trucks in the worst conditions possible and make nice videos. You end up giving to the town the most reliable truck of the 3 (charity is never bad) to help cerro gordo getting back in shape. You could finish the serie by putting cerro gordo sticker on the truck to make it a service « car treck-cerro gordo » vehicule. Ok i killed the surprise give away but i like the concept 😅
I'd be interested in a 2020's USA redux of my favorite kind of Top Gear episode; that being the "is xyz mass-transit solution(s) faster than a car?" challenges/races. Examples: "Is a new Z06 a faster way to get from Fenway Park to rival Yankee Stadium than transit and Amtrak's 'high-speed' [wink wink] Acela line?" "Is a new Amtrak supersleeper cabin a better way to cross the US than by car?" "How much harder is the Bandit Run if done using transit?" "Can you emergency/last-minute drive across the US faster than just getting a standby ticket and flying." and so on. You could make some of them crossover shows with other TH-camrs. A channel called Jeb Brooks does a lot of US domestic train, coach, and flight reviews. You could race Cleetus and his helicopter across Florida. There are at least 3 or 4 good Car Treks in that format, possibly as many as 8. That's my suggestion for the next series.
How about some sorta mini Cannonball but with rules. Let's say drive from X Texas to Wizards garage on budget cars built and modified, but deducting points for speeding, rolling stop signs, etc... it'd pit the drivers selecting routes, times to beat this or that city rush hour, doubling fuel tanks to avoid stops. Kinda like an iron butt and musketball mixed together.
IDEA FOR CAR TREK! How about a build show? Tavarish could build a kit car and yourself and Tyler have to drive to point B before he finishes.? It is a top idea! And a top gear idea though. Just a thought. 😊
This would be incredibly ambitious (maybe too ambitious), but it would be really cool to do a road trip down the Pan-American Highway. Maybe not the whole length, but even just Alaska to Canada would be awesome!
If you like 6 wheel Range Rovers, try and source a 'Centaur'. That was a Land Rover with two regular front wheels, but the back was the tracks from a Scorpion tank. I think 7 were built so they're a bit rare.
I tend to prefer Car Trek-Episodes starring lower-end cars. My favorite was the Cheap Luxury Cars-One. So I guess that would be my suggestion for the next one!
But they've already done that? Not really a suggestion
I tend to not prefer any cartrek, VINwiki stories are much better
Like a pimpmobile version? Lots of cheep Lincolns and cadillacs. Race to pick up a "John" Ficarra for their ladys of the evening.
Taking a Toyota Yaris, a ford focus and a VW golf, on a track day to see what melts first.
I tend to prefer comments that start with “I tend to prefer” 😂
I’d LOVE a true cheap car challenge on Car Trek. Like asking, Can you recreate the famous “£1500” car challenges from old Top Gear?
I agree the cheaper crappy cars are the most entertaining
I think an inflation correction will be required, not much that will pass inspection for $1,500 these days.

Start with a truck. Switch to a supercar race across US. Get a built in Canada car to cross border. Have legit French cars at St Pierre.
Logistics of that even with a small crew doesn't seem that realistic.
I don’t think those ferries run anymore, sadly.
There are some cool concepts that I think would work great

right, there has to be some better angles
There has to be in car video of it!

Just another episode of Tyler wins. Tylers 7 hours away, Ed's almost 10 hours away and Freddy is even further
I like this idea. If I may suggest, have them all purchase the vehicle they're going to use IN Texarkana, leave at the same time from a parking lot, pick up the parts, and then head off to Georgia.
@@Raswhitworth even better!
What did you think of Car Trek 10?
Sounded like a great idea but was actually quite boring. Too much fill
@@volvogt21 Yeah, it needed more dumb and dumber meat.
Thought it was your best one, by far. What about Alaska, I've always heard the roads are pretty demanding there. Or, maybe something in your wheel house, fixing up flood cars and taking them on a road trip?
one word Aquacars
How about good OFF-ROADERS that are NOTGOOD on Highway AND LOW MPG on a ROADTRIP across America
Really liked this Car Trek! Great to see something other than the usual super cars.
I actually enjoy the full length features it was entertaining and it kept the whole waiting for the next episode.
Boat trek? RV-Trek? ATV-Trek? Moto-trek? Love all the content guys!!! Please dont stop what your doing!!
Cartrek Challenge: a functional car/truck that MUST also must fly or float (aka Aero-car or Amphi-car)
Oregon fail was a great way to spend Christmas evening. Thanks guys.
Always liked that Top Gear episode where they race across europe in car vs public transportation/train.
On the next car trek the trio should buy old vans and DIY them to cheap campers and do some challenges ...its good idea .
Cartrek 11 needs to be the versatility of pickups... they can do it all from winning a car show, race tracks, overlanding, hauling/towing things.... the list goes on
I always dreamt of doing challenges like this with my friends so I have a few ideas:
1. Buying a car and making a trip with it for the price of a plane ticket for that trip.
2. Fastest cars possible, for the price of a ferrari rental (1 week's worth for example, or 1 month)
Love watching car-trek, would love to see an episode involving compact cars, seeing how that seems to be out of everybody’s comfort zone
If you'd like to torture them add the word Sub to Compact.
The Chevy Spark, I think it is... I had to rent one of these for a few days, and I hated every one. For starters, the gas and brake pedals are right next to each other, and all the way on the right side of the foot area, really made it a pain to drive. Anyway, three econo-shitboxes should be interesting.
@@MK-1010 Yeah small cars actually used to be fun like the old classic Civic hatch the EG model and of course the French Peugeot hatchbacks but us never got those and of course the old two-door Corolla hatch that everybody loved in Japan but that was the performance spec model the AE86
Of course I'm just messing around here even though it's all true.
@@MK-1010 Well I don't really like Priuses but even those might have been more fun than what you had to rent sorry about that.
@@MK-1010 last Model in stock or possibly the cheapest
Just a suggestion. The next-ish Car Trek should be cheap off-road Ford/Chevy/Dodge-Ram pickup trucks. Y'all can haul camping gear etc. Basically roughing it in the outdoors.
Fantastic Car Trek. Please keep the series going, I like the idea of super cheap, and or economy cars, crossing a mountain range, with their little engines, going up steep hills, and sleeping in tents attached to them.
My cartrek suggestion is who can find the best pimpmobile? Who can race their lady of the evening to the "John" Ficarra the fastest?
Wow. I didn't even know there was another Car Trek out. Can't wait to go watch that.
The 6 wheeled Range Rover makes absolutely *no* sense what-so-ever, and for this reason fits the criteria of Car Trek precisely!
what about a 'cannonball'-like run? you wouldn't have to be so serious about it. cool forgotten cars that were obscure in the day - say 1980:2000. doesn't even have to be across the whole country, just a handful of states - maybe pick a region of the country - maybe even a different smaller country.
( with a manual trans Rangie or Discovery, you can triple-clutch Lo-Hi-Lo while still rolling
And they heel-and-toe well )
Got an idea for the next car trek.
Ed during CarTrek:" I am mid 50's into it"
Ed after CarTrek: "I am around 75-80k into it",
At least on this one there wasn't a budget
Would be cool if you did some kind of generation challenge like: 2001 M5/E55/RS or something of the like. Or best SUVs from 3 generations ago etc.
I love the car trek series and I can’t wait for the next season. For the next season maybe try something with “the most ridiculous pickup trucks”
Something that I think would be a cool idea for a future cartrek, is buying ‘80s American sports cars with a budget of $20,000 or less. Have the first episode being a reveal, and doing necessary repairs on them. Second episode, have them participate in something like one lap of America.
That Christmas special was your best show yet!
It would be awesome if you could be even more like old Top Gear and have some adventures outside the US. Some dangerous roads maybe...?
Feature length CarTrek is the way to go!
Huge car guy, but would love to see some truck stuff. Offroading, towing, hauling, breaking down with old cheap trucks
Love the car trek "long series"
Car trek idea: "Hot Hatchbacks" 😏
As for Car Trek ideas, how about cheap or not-cheap iterations of:
rally builds
drag & drivers
baja/desert runner builds
mud boggers
donks
sleepers
lowriders
military vehicles
minivans
semi trucks
RVs
any brand
non-typical road legal vehicles (Polaris, Slingshot, ect...)
I think a first car episode would be great. My 88 Dodge Reliant was predictably awful but I would absolutely buy one again for nostalgia sake.
I would love to see this car with working locking differentials tackling some medium difficulty terrain!!
Next car trek idea... take the offroad one step more extreme: winter... snow... Canada... cheap pickups
Great episode! And your chat was very informative. Thanks Ed!
I'd be interested in a 2020's USA redux of my favorite kind of Top Gear episode; that being the "is xyz mass-transit solution(s) faster than a car?" challenges/races.
Examples:
"Is a new Z06 a faster way to get from Fenway Park to rival Yankee Stadium than transit and Amtrak's 'high-speed' [wink wink] Acela line?"
"Is a new Amtrak supersleeper cabin a better way to cross the US than by car?"
"How much harder is the Bandit Run if done using transit?"
"Can you emergency/last-minute drive across the US faster than just getting a standby ticket and flying."
and so on.
An eastern block cannonball would be a great car trek episode
