And then we'd all have a good chuckle because *of course* there would never be a kit for such an obscure, stupidly huge post-modern art nightmare looking MFer that came out of a bunch of Japan-only novels published in the 80's nobody had ever heard of and had (at the time) maybe half a dozen pieces of official art total. I just bought one for full price but the other day my Hobby Lobby had a Penelope so I might have to pick it up for 40% off today and have one I'll put together as the Penelope and then a separate glider and Odysseus
Looks great! As long as it can stand there menacingly it's all that the kit has to do. Peoe that think this kit is bad because it can't nail all action poses clearly haven't seen the design of the suit
Cripes, things like this make me wish there was a video series of aeronautics engineers looking at Gundam kits, that'd be great for a laugh seeing their reaction to this kit. But I really dig the Fixed Flight Unit and the Odysseus as separate kits, regardless of how impractical and implausible the Fixed Flight Unit is. If you think of it as two larger than average HG kits, the price point really doesn't seem so bad. But you've gotta really be into the design of both units if you're not already sold on the combined mode. One thing that might be cool is posing the Odysseus up with a larger beam rifle, something like the beam smart gun, and having the little stands on the sides of legs down like they're providing additional support while the rifle's being fired. Although, given the limited arm articulation and weak ball joints, that might require a little work to accomplish.
If I remember correctly, Odysseus is the name of the one who thought of making the wooden horse to secretly enter the city of Troy. Anyway that's a cool looking kit, but I think it needs more detailing, decals maybe. And some size comparisons for these kind of above-average-size kits please.

wait, is it using a similar type of action base as the HG Elf Bullock? which might be an issue as the HG Elf Bullock is a smaller kit, hence probably why the Penelope wobbles when touched due to not really able to handle the weight of a larger kit.
@@ZakuAurelius honestly they could have cheapened development by months if they used an innerframe based on the MG RX-78-2. Its kinda sad how the one thing that they could do to make the kit better with the weight be not used.
@shadowshinobi06 when the kit is as big as your average MG kit I think priority to structural integrity should have been made apparent. As we've had full inner frame HG kits before in the HG IBO kits.
@shadowshinobi06 graze Eins and ringraze Julia were also close to MG size ( although willowy due to design) but big enough that a hefty inner frame is needed for stability.
@shadowshinobi06 to be fair the Penelope suffers from a weight problem. Sure its a statue but all that weight when sitting will cause the leg to fall off from the extra armor.
