It's always a good idea to wet it, especially since it's fiberglass and you don't want to be breathing in those fibers :) Doing it dry is fine too though
@@MotoMango , if you wear mask, googles and gloves it’s not a problem doing it dry, I didn’t said that wet is wrong, just said don’t need to be. Thank you for your kind words on my bike!!👍🏻
I've been thinking of welding up a custom 2into1 exhaust, and adding some pod filters. Did you end up adjusting the carbs jetting to make it run nicer? If so, what sizes did you go with?
You should do it! My jet sizes ended up being a bit too rich, BUT there's a website that helps you calculate what jet size you'd likely need depending on what modifications you've done. Let me find it.
Take this with a grain a salt like anything really, but this is a great starting point for your jet sizes. You typically have to tinker a bit to get it running perfect. Link below for calculating jet sizes. www.caferacerwebshop.com/en/blogs/blog/how-to-rejet-your-cafe-racer-carburetor/
I'm guessing this was the MAC 2 into 1 header kit? I have the 2 into 1, but I don't like how it goes right next to the oil cooler. did you/ do you have any issues with overheating? I might wrap mine just in case...
The exhaust is from Amazon and the headers are OEM, but the piping is custom. This bike is normally two headers, pipes, and exhaust but I converted it into a 2 to 1.
The exhaust tips look good connected coming out same side.
Thank you! I'm super happy with how it came out
It’s definitely amazing sound. I like it.
Yeah, I love the sound! Thanks!
Thank you! I just pull the exhaust off my 450 and was wondering how to go about this
Nice! Glad I could help :)
Sounds good!
So good!!!
Sound turned out better than I was hoping for!
The wrapping tape not necessarily have to be wet, I did my bike exhaust 4 years ago with dry tape and still mint condition

Your CX500 looks absolutely amazing btw

Here's a video where I rebuild the carbs on the CM450

I didn't have any issues, but I sold the bike after about a month. The buyer didn't mention anything about it either so probably fine
So did you find header connection for your 2 to 1 or was it just built?
I bought it that way, but I'm sure it's out there.
Did you have that exhaust made or did it come from another bike?
