The 80s are my favourite decade of music, so many wonderful and different artists, you could feel and hear the creativity with people that were able to play an instrument. Tears for Fears is just one lovely example, others are Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, Hall and Oates, Simple Red, Queen, Foreigner or Genesis
Not to mention Roland's guitar solo is probably the best solos ever in terms of feel and musicality within a song. He doesn't do a million arpeggios, just feel and tone. Brilliant!
Mo, my sister and I went to see Tears for Fears in concert in June 2022 and they are still as amazing as ever. They've created amazingly good music for decades now and have a new album out!
Please react to more Tears for Fears, they are one of the top bands to come out of the 80s, and I think you will love all of their songs! In fact, "Head Over Heels" is probably my #1 favorite song from the 80s. Roland is the lead singer on that one (the guy you were crushing on).
Roland writes and sings on most of Tears For Fears songs but for this song it was Curt Smith that sang it. I bought the album when it came out and I must have worn the vinyl down from the number of times I played it. Tears For Fears are back with a new album coming out in 2022.
I bought my first record in 1962 and 59 years later "Advice For The Young At Heart" accompanied by that lovely video of the Latino Wedding with Oleta Adams is one of my favourite 10 Songs of all time :)
Anyone ever told you that you remind them of Sade? She happens to be half nigerian and going by your name I can tell your nigerian, but you have the look and aurra of her, plus she's a huge 80s great as well, love all her music.
Shot in the Coachella Valley, between Indio and Banning. I used to live near where they filmed this; if the video has lasted another 30 seconds, you'd have seen my old house. I miss the 80s....mostly.
This song held down the number one spot on the Billboard charts for four week in 1985. One of two number ones from Tears for Fears, the first being Shout. Ah the 80s, this is the soundtrack of my childhood.
GREAT Reaction and if you like that Guy then you will love him in the video which is with their song Head Over Heels". They did some wonderful songs usually with good music videos to go with them. "Pale Shelter" " Woman In Chains" "Mad World" "Sowing The Seeds Of Love and my personal favourite " Advice For The Young At Heart" accompanied by that lovely video of the Latino Wedding with Oleta Adams is one of my favourite 10 Songs of all time :) ENJOY!
I'm so glad you reacted to this. This brings me back to my teenage years, when music of all genres had substance. Lovely reaction and keep up the great work. Cheers.

Mo, I'm so glad you got to TFF! This is one of the best songs to come out of the 80's. It's one of the top band & songs critics & us the listener thinks of as amazing! Tears For Fears which is Roland (the one you are crushing on) & Curt. Their writing & harmonies are timeless. The lyrics discuss the human desire for power & control. Please! Please! Explore a few more: "Head Over Heels" "Woman In Chains" "Sowing The Seeds Of Love"
one of my most cherished and favorite songs of my childhood along with one of my most favorite bands. SO glad you reacted to this. Blessed growing up in the best music ever, the 80's and then straight into the great 90's as well. Depeche Mode is another amazing band. I can even think of a song i didnt like on any specific album.. amazing
Hello Beautiful Sista.👑. This song is a Timeless classic. I grew up in the 80s, and Tears for Fears we're one of the Great groups during that time. Shout and Head over Heels are a couple other of their Great songs too. Much Love from the U.S 👑💕
Oh the 80's.....so glad i lived through my youth in the 80's...this was a bedrock of that time period and still sounds fresh today...hey baby girl...that shy smile...the rose red cheeks...you were crushing werent you....hahaha...xx
In all these videos that I can watch there are those like you who are attentive to what is happening who discover admiration the music of their fathers and mothers and I love watching their reactions. And there are those who are too deeply rooted in a certain musical culture who take it down, forgetting that they come from the past. As I always say I love it when young people listen to old man's music.
The drummer Manny Elias was a little bit older (32 years old). Singer Curt Smith was about 24 at this time. Guitarist/singer Roland Orzabal (the one you have a crush on) was about 25. Curt and Roland are about to release a new Tears For Fears album. They're both around 60 years old now.
tears for fears , full production no gaps , great music great era , great reaction keep them coming pretty lady, there best song in my opinion was Woman in chains ,very sad but highlights women in abusive relationships, well worth a reaction
Also, they have a song called, HEAD OVER HEALS that is another great hit! TFF are a great 1980's British group that made a big splash during the 80's BRIT MUSIC INVASION! I am a huge fan of theirs!
Hello, my dear Morenikeji! Do you know how difficult it can be to have to explain to my wife who my favourite baby girl is? hahahaha! I love how you've felt the groove on this one, my friend. The drummer sets a pattern that makes the song roll instead of pound, making it so easy to move and dance to. Further, while the drums are a steady roll, the lead vocals hold notes and slow some down so that the song has a push and pull effect on the rhythms. Tears For Fears had been making good music for a few years before this, but they really hit the big time with the song and the album it came from. Every member of the group is at the top of their game and each instrument makes an integral addition to the overall sound. It's fun, it's catchy, the lyrics are intelligent, it's memorable and easy to sing along with. This was such a wonderful time for music and was probably the last truly creative period before the corporations took total control and forced everything to become the same, not allowing any freedom to create at all. Seeing you dance at the end shows that the song is not only rhythmically catchy, it also gives a feeling of joy. This is one of those songs that I can remember exactly what I was doing when it first was played. Oh, and my baby sister had a big crush on both the singer and the guitarist. ☺ Take care and stay safe, baby girl. I must explain to my wife who my favourite is. hahahaha! ☺♥
It’s hard to resist both the lead singer and the guitarist! Plus their energy in the video is nice to see as well♥️. Haha, thank you for your compliment and I appreciate the information as well🥰

When this song came out in the mid eighties it was everywhere, the radio played it non stop. VERY popular.

A song that NEVER seems to get old. It's 39 years since it came out, and still seems as fresh today as it did then
This song is good, but their best song by far is called Head over Heels. It reminds me of *you* when I hear it.
I'm seeing Tears for Fears in concert May 27th 2022. First time seeing them in the 80s and now in 2022
