I just turned 50 and this is still my favorite song of all time! Such a classic!
I have been enjoying this song since 1987 and never got bored enjoying it, Every time I'm down I just listen to it, it brings back all my memories, the bad ones and the good ones.
George Michael is arguably pop music's best male singer. Vibrato, range, emotion....impeccable. Incredible singer. His good looks don't hurt either.
The idea for the song came to him whilst sitting on a bus going to his job. He knew it was gonna be a hit at some point so put his friend Andrew Ridgley as co-writer so he would also get royalties. The line " guilty feet have got no rhythm" is a great addition from a 17yr old boy.
I never heard that version of the writing. He and Andrew were the duo Wham. They constantly wrote music together. This song was originally on the 2nd Wham album.

George & Andrew decided that George should go on writing their songs after that! If you would a good read, Get a copy of GEORGE & ME by ANDREW RIDGELEY. It's a very enjoyable story. (a believable story)

George was one of the greatest singers in music history. This performance was terrific. Had other hit songs, also duets. When he was in the duo Wham had a great song I'm yr Man, worth checking out. You have great musical taste
His death was one of the biggest losses to the musical world, but the drugs ,the bloody drugs .His musical talent will never be surpassed in it`s range of song and style . Privately he was quietly very generous to a lot of causes ,even to the point of him watching morning tv about a couple who could not afford IVF treatment ,George phoned into the channel and payed for their treatment . He was a very kind hearted genius which the media tried their best to destroy and nearly did ,he came out fighting and won . Give us all a treat and play more .
I guess George was clean of drugs for 4 yrs. Weed was his choice of drugs toward the later part of his life. I'm not condoning drugs of any kind. But sometimes I wonder, maybe It was able to keep him feeling sain & kept him on Kiel. You, know, after using for so long the body could rebel. At least that's what he said in an interview, & spoke of It honestly. Which, we know how honest George was. The word was that It was his heart that took his life. What do I know! It's just something I thought about. Is It possible?

As a rule, George sang about his experiences in life. This cares through 30+ years of magnificence. George was & still is in a league by himself. No one could top George's music in any way. George Wrote sang, arranged, & directed everything, including his videos. George's style is POP, R&B, JAZZ, SOUL & even a little swing. By the way, there has been anyone to sing his songs without failing miserably. Big artist's never even tried. George won countless awards. After the Faith album, He pretty much left performing in the US because the kind of circus that came with fame, as he said, was more than he could handle at the time. It wasn't until 17 yrs. after that he 1st. performed again in the US. Please, don't read & believe what many tabloids, etc. say about him. Listen to the words from the horse's mouth, sort of speck! George was a man of integrity, honesty to a fault, the media love's what makes them money & you can't listen to most of It! They did some really did some dirty dealings to & about George. After he stopped in the US he went on to 68 countries by the time of the 25 LIVE concert tour around the world.. There may be more since then. There are interviews, recording sessions, & of course many, many videos of George. Live performances & the list goes on! George started in WHAM, He and Andrew Ridgely wrote Careless Whisper a the age of 17, along with Culb Tropicana, & one more that for reason It's just not coming to me right now. After about 4 yrs. w/ WHAM, George went on to his solo career, and he was off! I hope you choose to go on the journey with George Michael, You'll fall in love with this man. And then, you'll find out about the man he was, UNBELIEVABLE! Anyhow more than enough said, My suggestion next would be at the Apollo Theater w/ Stevie Wonder, LOVES IN NEED OF LOVE TODAY. George has sung this many times in his career, but in my opinion, this is the best! OMG... Your reaction is something special. I get made fun of for listening to love songs like this, but this is so much more than just a love song to me. This may sound a bit cliche but so when I watched your reaction it really touched me. I've subscribed to your channel because I know moving forward I'll get a genuine reaction from you. Music can touch a person in a way sometimes we can't explain, because lyrics can hit us right to our core and that's why I can appreciate songs like these. It’s hard to suggest any particular songs as I’ve been a fan since my teenage years when they came out as wham and continued to follow him. Pick any track and I guarantee, you’ll love the song. Also to note, he did many famous duets too, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Mary J Blige, Elton John & Mutya Beana just to name a few.
