I had one friend who had an almost white carpet on her living room floor and I hated going to her house when I was well dressed and had to walk around in my stockings. If you just have one living room why would you put a white carpet on the floor? In winter I know I must take off my boots, but again I could not carry a pair of shoes to wear. I was brought up to wear my slippers and shoes even at home at all times. My parents were very strict when coming to walking around barefoot. It was not allowed in our house. Maybe it is a good idea for people to have a den so people don't have to take their shoes off. It is just a carpet. That is all it is Yes, boots, but I never ask people to take their shoes off. I don't really care. When the carpet gets dirty then it gets shampooed. There are more important things to fuss over in life. But we are all different. and everybody can do what they want in their home. I prefer to meet people at restaurants. People don't have to make you feel uncomfortable with their inhibitions there.
There are no self made Billionaires in their 40s in Kenya unless plundering has been involved. Riches equals work over time....
