    I've been using the Canon C70 for 4 years now and Canon just released the C400. Is it worth upgrading from the C70? In this video here are my 5 reasons why I would upgrade from the Canon C70 to the Canon C400.
    1. Full frame 00:30
    2. Sharper image 01:21
    3. Has better low light 02:32
    4. Better Auto Focus 03:13
    5. Looks more professional 03:55
    I do love my C70 but I find the cropped sensor annoying because my lenses aren't what they truly are. If I have a 50mm on the camera it's actually a 75mm because of the 1.5 times crop factor on the super 35.
    The image quality on the new Canon C400 shoots 6K whereas the C70 only shoots 4k. This will be handy when needing to reframe or crop in an image.
    Currently on the C70 the low light performance is not that great but on the C400 it has a stacked, full frame sensor that allows more light to be let in for better low light performance. Also with the triple native ISO Canon is doing with this C400 will make it a low light beast!
    With the Canon C400, Canon has stated that their auto focus will be better with second generation auto focus.
    With the new Canon C400 it definitely has a more professional look to it giving it that Hollywood camera rigged up style. I can only imagine with third party accessories there will be a ton of options to rig this up even more!

    When I look at this video and see the teal and orange look on you’re talking head, the crushed blacks, and the “stylized lut look”; I can’t help but think that a new camera won’t do more for your work than investing in your coloring skills. Your delivery was perfect. Great audio. Didn’t over talk but didn’t under inform either. Very informative. Real glad I clicked on this video and I’m looking forward to your review of the camera when you get it. Also, what do you think of all those outputs on the camera; are you gonna use it? Like genlock, and both SDI ports and hirose etc. Also; I don’t like how close the price is to the Komodo X. So I’m on the fence. Coming from and R5C and R5. Can’t wait to see what you do with the C400, I’m vicariously living through you champ!

    Am I crazy for wanting to sell my 1 year old FX9 in order to get a Canon C400? The C400 does everything my FX9 does and more. All this while being smaller, lighter, and way less power hungry.
    I never use my FX9 for live work where all the SDI ports might come in handy. Mainly I do corporate videos and commercials.
    My main issue with the FX9 is that I must crop in on the sensor to get slowmo, and once I do that I lose the amazing autofocus. With that said the camera looses its main point by being full frame for me.
    This also means that I have to sell my two lenses, Sigma 24-70 2.8 and Sigma 35mm 1.2 Art. But what can you do.
    Am I totally out of my mind?

      Honestly, whatever makes you happy sometimes focussing on the small differences isn’t worth it but if you have the money and it inspires you to get new gear, then I say go for it. Haters are gonna hate. That’s just the way it is.

    This may be a Noob question: but I've fallen in love with the extra zoom the super 35 sensor gives me on the c70 becasue i film sports. Is the Super 35 sensor the same thing as just cropping and zooming in on the full frame sensor the C400?

    • @OneShotFilmmaker
      @OneShotFilmmaker  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@bobbysommers2556 I hope this makes sense. I’ll try and explain it. lol the sensor in every camera is the best image it gives out every time you crop in a image you start losing quality so the super 35 if you were to crop in that you start using losing quality the same as if you were to crop in a full frame … the benefits of full frame also means whatever lens you’re using. That’s the focal length you’ll be getting. Whereas with a super 35 if you have a 28 to 70 it’s more like a 60-100 something like that. Hope that makes sense

    • @bobbysommers2556
      @bobbysommers2556 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@OneShotFilmmaker Thank you for your quick reply! That definitely makes sense: So with my 70-200 on my c70 it gets me about a 100-300 equivalent. So on the c400 I could theoretically just crop in post and get roughly the same image quality?

    • @OneShotFilmmaker
      @OneShotFilmmaker  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@bobbysommers2556 not really when you cropping on any sensor you start losing the image quality so because the C 70 is a super 35 you’re technically not cropping in because that’s what the sensor is in full resolution. It’s a little hard to explain and even harder to understand sometimes.lol I should be getting the C40 very soon and I’ll be pumping out tons of videos on that comparing it to the C70 so make sure you’re subscribed 😊 if you have any other questions, let me know

    Haha, I already heard of photographers who just add a battery grip to make their camera look more professional. The problem today is that even expensive photo cameras like the Sony A1 look quite tiny and not like something that costs more than 7000 Euros.
    A large camera also allows you to cross police lines without a press pass, because police will just assume that you are a professional and they respect the freedom of press.

      I have one old customer. And at first I came with a colleague who had a camera all in a kit. The customer reacted to it exactly like that. He was delighted. But after years of cooperation, this customer figured out how the image is formed. And he told me. Let's come as light as possible and we will shoot lightly. This is more important to me. And no one will see the difference in the image. But you won't have to waste time and effort on this. And I bought a Canon R8 for him. I have already shot a couple of projects and no one has seen the difference. But I can color correct. And this is probably the main thing.
