I was there with my brother and my son. In the 7th inning I made my son stand on seat and I told him to take a minute and burn everything u see into ur memory because ur witnessing history and something u might not ever see live again. My only Nostradamus moment!!!
My favorite part of this game was the epic rant John Kruk had about the Astros being displaced due to Hurricane Ike on ESPN Baseball Tonight after the game. I don't know if it's on here or not, but it's worth a watch. My all time favorite rant of his.
Surely appreciate the post! The best I could do that night was listen to the game on the computer. Mostly perfectly placed, lively fastballs. Appeared Erstad just wanted to get the thing over as he struck out on a pitch way wide. Since, the Cubs have had two Jake Arietta no-hitters, one by Alec Mills, and one combined. Between 1969 and ‘72, they had four: two by Ken Holtzman, one by Burt Hooton, and one by Milt Pappas. Recent Cubs around that time threw some more: Bill Stoneman, longtime GM of the Angels, threw two and Jim Colborn, one.
