Removing fallen leaves from the intake of a waterway blocked by a large amount of fallen leaves

- This is a video of a trip to remove fallen leaves that had clogged an intake a little way into the mountains to return water to a dried up creek.
The creek, which has not been concretized, is home to crabs, dragonfly eggs, and birds that come to bathe in the water. Therefore, if the water does not flow for a long time, the creatures are affected.
Every year in late fall and early winter, when it rains heavily and strong winds blow, large amounts of fallen leaves flow into the creek and block the water intake, causing the water volume in the creek to drop drastically.
The creek beside us had low water the day before and stopped in the evening.
The person in charge seemed to have removed fallen leaves, and the next day in the morning it began to flow as usual, but in the evening it became thin again.
The next day, the sand on the riverbed had dried up.
On that day, the person in charge (I was told that the neighboring district is in charge of managing the intake, but I have no idea who does it in that district) moved too slowly or did not get the water flowing right away. So, I went for a walk (by car on the way) and picked up fallen leaves for the first time in a long while.
Actually, the creek next to our house has a somewhat higher bed than the main creek because the area around our house has not been concretized (it started out at the same height, but was raised as the field was being developed), so even though there is little water flowing in the main creek, the water stops flowing early in the creek next to our house, This meant that even if there was little water flowing in the main channel, the creek beside it would stop flowing early, and we could tell that the intake was clogged early.
I love taking a little walk in the middle of nowhere and cleaning up the clogged leaves.

担当の人がまめの様で、最近はこちらが行く機会は滅多にありません。
あの場所もやる事も気持ちが良いので好きなんですがね。
大事な作業ご苦労様です ゴミを流すなという意見がありましたが、取水口に詰まらなければそのまま下流に流れていくはずだったものです 流して何も問題ありません それよりもご自身のために安全帯の着用をお勧めします

勢いはありますが深さも浅めで、下川には石が並べてあり堰から転落する可能性もないので、増水時以外は安全帯までは要らないかなと思っています。
また、最近の担当の人が小まめに掃除されていて、最近はほぼ行く事はなくなってしまいました。
田舎に住んでるが溝掃除水路掃除は水中の長い物は大好物だが陸の長い物が大の苦手なので苦痛、水路掃除は真冬に願いたいね
私も4月20日に小水路の落ち葉の掃除そして27日地区の人びとと大水路の掃除5月に入り稲田の作業が始まります❗️水路作業が終わり水門を、開け流れ出した時の感動なんとん言えんですね‼️

うちの地区でも半年に一回くらい取水口の掃除当番があってたよ。
It’s idyllic and lovely but I’m mystified about what it is for… crop irrigation, maybe rice or those white radishes? And can I ask where that is as well, what part of what country?

The water in this canal is used most for growing rice.
But we also use it in the fields.
In the fields, a variety of vegetables are grown in an area where no single vegetable is grown on a large scale.
This water is also used for fire protection.
While most of the waterways have been replaced with concrete channels, a few earthen channels remain.
These waterways are home to fireflies, river crabs, dragonfly eggs, and other small creatures.
The water is indispensable for these small creatures.
This is Yamanashi, Japan.
That water comes from Mt. Komagatake in the Southern Alps.

こちらがやっているのは誰かの為ではなく、すべて自分が好きでやりたい事をやっているだけなので、そんな偉人が重なるなんて、何がか恥ずかしい限りです。
この日の河口付近の海洋プランクトンは
「今日の川の水は美味い！フマル酸やマロン酸、分解しかけの糖鎖。上流産の大量のプランクトン！
美味いわ！増殖してしまいそうやわっ！」って言ってると思う｡ 知らんけど。
カメラは頭に巻き付けて撮影すれば？
もしくは定点カメラで固定するかすればもっと見やすく出来そうですね
やはり同じ感想の方がいらっしゃいましたね。我田引水の如く詰まりは治すけど塞いでた落ち葉、流木はそのまま下流へ流したのはちょっと人としてどうかな？自分さえ良ければ、の考えの人なんですね。
あの取水口に詰まる物は、あの川を流れ下る落ち葉などの数十分の一でしょう。
取り除いた水を含んで重くなった落ち葉などを、鉄の梯子を上って２m以上も上の地上に上げるには一人では無理です。
数人が必要になるでしょう。
年に一度か２度の詰まりなら、まだ何とかできるかもしれませんが、多い時には週に２度も詰まった事が有ります。
自分は地区に入ってもおらず、担当でもありませんが、高齢化も進み、若い人は昼間は働きに行って居ないので、取り除いた落ち葉などを流さずに処理するのは無理ですね。
この地域は脆い花崗岩の山や川で、普段から花崗岩の砂や小さ目の石が流れ落ちていますが、大雨の時は大きな岩まで流れ落ちてきます。
詰まる原因の鉄柵は、そうした大きな石や岩を水路に流れ込まないようにするために取り付けられているものと思います。
そうした大きな石や岩が沢山流れて来ない様な川なら、必要のない鉄柵なのかもしれません。
その柵が無ければ、詰まることなく川下に流れて行っている落ち葉などです。
人間の作ったゴミとは違います。
ゴミを回収し水を流れるようにするのは良いこと。 でも、この人はゴミを下流に流すだけ。こんなことをしてはいけません。
多くの都会では落ち葉はゴミとして処分されるので、ゴミと思われるかもしれませんが、落ち葉はただのゴミではありません。
以前、東北だったと思いますが、養殖の牡蠣の収量が減った時に、養殖をしていた人達がそこへ流れ込む川の上流の荒れた山に落葉広葉樹を植林し、海の養分を豊にすることで復活させたことがあったと記憶しています。
落ち葉などが海に流れることで海は豊になります。
家は、昔農家だったし、自分は農業高校にいったから、こうゆうコメントを見るとイラっとなる。葉っぱは肥料になるし自然由来なので全く害にならない。東京の人だろうけど科学的に作られた物と一緒にされては困る。あまりに物を知らな過ぎる
木の葉がゴミなら山ごと焼き払わねばならない。木の葉がゴミとして不要な物なら海藻は育たない。海藻が育たない海に魚は住まない。貴方は何を教わって生きてきたのだ？
