Bob Ross was the painter with the happy trees. Did you mean more like Bob Vila jumping into projects on this old house?

YOUR FIX IS OK FOR THE PRIMARY CABLE BUT THE ISSUE IS USUALLY IN THE INDIVIDUAL LINES TO EACH WHEEL WHERE THE SALT AND RUST TAKE THEIR TOLL

Thanks for your comment Ken. The Primary cable is a troublesome cable for the Colorados/Canyons/Isuzus. I covered replacing both rear Parking Brake Cables in another video called, "2005 Chevy Colorado Drum Brake & Parking Brake Replace" You may be interested in Checking that video out. Here's the youtube link to it if you're interested. Cheers! th-cam.com/video/Lp76jLHC4QM/w-d-xo.html

Your e brake is sticking and probably have broken a spring. You need to replace your e brake mechanism or at least get in there and take a look. I hope that helps

Thanks, not prob Brake ( still original Rear*,& NEVER USE PARKING BRAKE,a POSSIBLE PROBLEM) yet:::** though, I do have that rare **intermittent : pass lock Ignition/ lock, out(** crank, no start)…..Simply waiting : ten minutes & one Second, always starts, a Problem ..… ((2007 Canyon 4 Cyl/ no remotes)):& sometimes, I avoid turning Engine off for short stops, occasionally…. Ps: use the BFH myself (occasionally called others, like “ a Tonya Harding”Hammer,(**thanks to Vice Grip Garage , on you tube))…

Annnnnd: Playing with asbestos dust and NO mask. Dude!
My first job as a teen of 16 was in a garage, many moons ago, and even then we knew to mask up when dealing with brake dust. Lung cancer is not worth saving a few $$ on DIY.

Maybe take the shoe out, and file/grind/sand a chamfer on that square edge - a good wire brushing on the mating piece. I'd go with molybd. grease on it. But great video - the big friendly hammer to the rescue!
