i have done several alarms, and i think the lock relays might be a video worth doing, some dont actually understand how those relays actually work, and took me time to realize they can make a neg a postive and vice versa :)

Also found 1 of the 2-3 videos I'm looking for concerning my model yr Tahoe ('04) I already mentioned in another video before seeing this one. I do have the fortin red round programmer device. Glad I found them as figured they got stashed in a tub in garage. BTW manual transmissions are great. Great gas mileage (soon we'll have "electric mileage"), less maintenance vs automatics transmissions. I remember back in early 90's when I bought a Geo Metro new they wanted more for A/C and also if you wanted a Automatic Transmission. Now I need to check this wireless device deal out I saw in another video on your TH-cam channel.
I will be honest I didnt buy my remote start from you guys but its because I didnt know about you till I figured out how much of headache this was going to be and did some research and ran across this. 1- yes, for an app guide use directed dot com 2-factory disarm is factory security integration at its simplest. its necessary (if the car is so equipped) so that the horn doesn't drive you crazy when using your new remotes instead of the originals. for the wire info, watch the free tech sheet video I just uploaded, all the info you need and more is there and all free
Hello Friend I purchased and been installing an Easyguard EC200-K9 alarm and remote start system into a 2002 Chevy Silverado LS1500 with a Passlock 2 VATS. If you are familiar with this system, can you please help me with finishing up the install. Alarm functions work well. However when remote starting the engine, the engine cranks but will not run. All connections appear well connected. Does this system require a bypass module? Any suggestions on how I can do to fix this issues?

I have a viper 5701 in a dodge stratus 2dr sxt but the remote start was never hooked up because it's a manual transmission and I was told it was to dangerous. Thanks

Hello, I just recently purchased a Viper 4204V remote car starter online and it didn't have a wiring diagram or installation instructions, could you please help me with this I have no way of installing this without these instructions. I think I'm at the conclusion that I will have to build a relay to run acc.2 but I need to find a gwr from that exact remote starter you advertise here. Or shout I grab the GWR from the 4 wire pig tail that comes off the High power relay?
I am not sure who this was directed at but I have a question about a 1998 toyota tacoma neutral saftey switch. I think I need to install a relay or something to make this work properly but I can't seem to rap my head around it. The neutral saftey switch breaks the power side to energize the starter relay.

Got a car with remote start installed, however it came with no remotes, and the factory fob won't work because the system was bypassed. If I find the remote start system, will I be able find out what model it is and find a replacement fob for it?

Hi Lessco Electronics. I went under the dash board and checked my alarm fuses because it wasnt working. It ended up needing to be reset only. But when checking fuses I took both out (red fuse 10 amps) (blue fuse 15 amps) at the same time. From red constant power and white cable respectibly. I forgot where each fuse goes. from watching your videos looks like red 10 amps fuse goes in red constant power and blue 15 amps fuse goes in white cable. Can you confirm it just to make sure.?
Hi. Im trying to install a basic keyless entry in my car. It seems your very familiar with the avital systems. I was looking at the avital 2101 and the 3100..i noticed that the 2101 horn wire is a (-) which my car horn is..and the 3100 has the siren i believe and a (+) brown wire. I only plan on keyless and horn. Now can i attach the 3100 (+) brown to my cars horn wire without a relay. Or should i just go with the 2101 with since i have a (-) horn wire in my car. To me both systems are similar but with 3100 having a shock sensor . I dont plan on installing a siren.

I have Nissan Maxima 2010 Push to start - The Alarms directions say to access the (-)LOCK and (-)Unlock at the BCM (body control module). Does this BCM require DIODE to protect the BCM? The manual does not state that it does...?

I also have this exact alarm. I feel cofident I can install with some patients.lol. the things that I need to know and can probaly google but wanted to ask you. Door locks i would like to use the 4x unlock feature and flash the head lights as the alarm trigger lock/unlock/sounding. im just tring to figure out door lock and light polarity would you happen to know? My wife wants one on here old saab 95 but i have read its a nightmare and no pro will even touch becouse of the TWICE security. Hello I just got a Viper 5704 car alarm. I have no fears on wiring it up but there is no installation book. Also the book it did come with said I needs a Bite computer thing to program this unit. I dont mind buying the bite thing, however why spend the money if I don't have too, it sell for $100. I'm working a 97 Dodge Dakota no chip key. DEI seems to be the only place to get the install book but you must be a Lic tech of theres to get it. Can you help.
are there new alarm systems with fcc id j5523518r? or are there new alarm systems with the same connectors as the old delta brand....so I can just transfer the connectors and don't have to do rewiring?
Hello. I installed a python 514 remote an alarm combo with idatalink ac on my 08 acura mdx. The locks and tailgate work. When hit the remote start the try cranks and starts and then it dies. I thought it could be the security system but I put the key in the ignition while the remote start was activated and it's still started and then died. I did not connect the tech wire pic because I was thinking it would be virtualtech could that be the issue or some other problem thank you can can you give me some ideas

I am going to list them and you can just tell me if I need them or not. First is Parking light isolation wire, Flex relay input 87a key side and Fused (30a) accessory/starter input. I also have an Ignition 1 input/output and a Fused (30a) ingnition 1 input...which one do I use as the Ignition 1 wire? Thank you...the videos are great.

Hi, I have installed viper 5901 remote start alarm. When I start with the remote control and is unlock the doors, the car start but don't lock the doors, if I start the car with the key this locks the doors perfectly, do you know what's wrong?
Why dont you just tie that into the ebrake? its alot easier, wire it so the starter sees ground only when the ebrake is on (since that wire looks for an open or + circuit to engage the starter remotely) I never used neutral safety wires since theyre typically next to impossible to locate). and its a good habit to have the ebrake on while parked anyway...
all that stuff is DEFIETLY not alarm related, maybe the not staring issue, but thats about it. and the starter kill relay is 3 dollars to change, Id start there and go forward

The videos are great. I like the way you keep the wires together. How do you feel about wire looms? Probably would make the install look better. But would make it harder to get at the wires though and make it harder for a car thief as well. I'm interested in how you go about mounting the car alarm's antenna in the car? Do you have to remove the A pillar trim piece? How do you route the car alarm antenna from the windshield behind the rear view mirror to the car alarm?

you can use any starter on the civic, its not the starter kit that makes it compatable with the car, its the optional bypass / integration module that does, and for the fit guide use one of these sites: ifar.ca for fortin, idatalink.com for idata, caralarm.com for omega link
Okay there is probably a rediculusly easy solution to this, but I have a omega Al-2060 EDPB, and I'm looking at the main 6 pin connector. It has high outputs for the starter and the ignition witch (10 guage wire I belive), but my 2006 Hummer H3 has very small ignition wires. leading me to belive that they are 250-500mli amp wires. And excuse my french, but I've looked through just about every damn fourm and looked though hundreds of videos. How in the hell do I get that down to a low output so that I don't fry that wire?

I have a 2002 subaru forester no need for bypass module. my unlock button unlocks the car, but the lock button just flashes the parking light and does not trigger the lock. I reverse the lock and unlock wires ...and the unlock button locks the door but the the lock button doesn't unlock door, the trouble seems to follow the wire from the module. could it be a bad module?
You probably have a 1 wire lock/unlock system. Do you know for sure? If you do, did you add the appropriate resistors in the lock and unlock wires' circuits??

I have connected one of the avital remote starter without the relay and it worked fine but this one is different... the box makes the noise like it is working but nothing happens... it locks and unlocks but that's it..

On my car the Tach output is (-) but on the remote starters brain the Tach input is (+) so would I use the same relay as the doors to reverse polarity so the tachsense will be accepted by the remote starters brain??

I'm installing a dball2 into my pts Nissan 13 juke. It's rsr. The problem is I am not sure if I have to use key2GO. I can't use it since I am not a dealer. Any suggestions if I can get temporary access? I have looked all around for hours. I have the t-harness and dball hooked up. I did flash the right firmware I had bestbuy do the key2go. I just am not sure if I have to go back now and have them do something with their access? Or can I get a certain bypass and put a key in it? I would hugely appreciate any advise you can give me.
Lessco Electronics Thanks I had bestbuy flash it. The problem now is no matter what I do it won't recognize the key. I hit the push to start twice and wait a few seconds then hit the break and press it. I see a flashing orange light on dball2. I have double checked all the wires and to my knowledge it's hooked up properly Any suggestions on what I could check? Could it be a bad dball2 or t-harness?
Lessco Electronics I also tried hitting the program button 5 times on dball and its just a orange light that doesn't blink. Troubleshooting says it means everythings ok but there are more steps to do to program it. Anyway I can get into a more detailed troubleshooting mode?
btw i used the status out (on mine its blue too) to a relay for the clutch so its switch isnt completly bypassed like the installer did on the older alarm

Hi Lessco Electronics. I went under the dash board and checked my alarm fuses because it wasnt working. It ended up needing to be reset only. But when checking fuses I took both out (red fuse 10 amps) (blue fuse 15 amps) at the same time. From red constant power and white cable respectibly. I forgot where each fuse goes. from watching your videos looks like red 10 amps fuse goes in red constant power and blue 15 amps fuse goes in white cable. Can you confirm it just to make sure.?
Hi. Im trying to install a basic keyless entry in my car. It seems your very familiar with the avital systems. I was looking at the avital 2101 and the 3100..i noticed that the 2101 horn wire is a (-) which my car horn is..and the 3100 has the siren i believe and a (+) brown wire. I only plan on keyless and horn.
Now can i attach the 3100 (+) brown to my cars horn wire without a relay. Or should i just go with the 2101 with since i have a (-) horn wire in my car.
To me both systems are similar but with 3100 having a shock sensor . I dont plan on installing a siren.

I have Nissan Maxima 2010 Push to start - The Alarms directions say to access the (-)LOCK and (-)Unlock at the BCM (body control module). Does this BCM require DIODE to protect the BCM? The manual does not state that it does...?
No - you don't need any diodes in that application at all.

I'm about to do an install on a 2009 Pontiac Vibe with Excalibur Model AL-1660-EDPB. It's a remote and security unit. The bypass module is a Fortin Evo Key. I just have a question. What do they mean connect negative GWR (Dk. blue from the Bypass) to remote starter negative while running? Do I just connect it to any negative ground wire? Please help.
gwr is ground while running ( also known as 500ma negative output for ugn 3) eother will trigger your evo key fine.

Hello I just got a Viper 5704 car alarm. I have no fears on wiring it up but there is no installation book. Also the book it did come with said I needs a Bite computer thing to program this unit. I dont mind buying the bite thing, however why spend the money if I don't have too, it sell for $100. I'm working a 97 Dodge Dakota no chip key. DEI seems to be the only place to get the install book but you must be a Lic tech of theres to get it. Can you help.
are there new alarm systems with fcc id j5523518r? or are there new alarm systems with the same connectors as the old delta brand....so I can just transfer the connectors and don't have to do rewiring?

Hello. I installed a python 514 remote an alarm combo with idatalink ac on my 08 acura mdx. The locks and tailgate work. When hit the remote start the try cranks and starts and then it dies. I thought it could be the security system but I put the key in the ignition while the remote start was activated and it's still started and then died. I did not connect the tech wire pic because I was thinking it would be virtualtech could that be the issue or some other problem thank you can can you give me some ideas
Try using the units built in diagnostics first and see where that takes you
I'm installing a Viper 5704 into a 06 Odyssey. I enjoyed this video VERY much but there are a fewused wires that were not covered and was hoping you could clarify for me. I am going to list them and you can just tell me if I need them or not. First is Parking light isolation wire, Flex relay input 87a key side and Fused (30a) accessory/starter input. I also have an Ignition 1 input/output and a Fused (30a) ingnition 1 input...which one do I use as the Ignition 1 wire? Thank you...the videos are great.

check the tach wire and be sure all the ignitions are powered just as the key would

Hi, I have installed viper 5901 remote start alarm.
When I start with the remote control and is unlock the doors, the car start but don't lock the doors, if I start the car with the key this locks the doors perfectly, do you know what's wrong?
sounds like you are missing an ignition input to your system
Why dont you just tie that into the ebrake? its alot easier, wire it so the starter sees ground only when the ebrake is on (since that wire looks for an open or + circuit to engage the starter remotely) I never used neutral safety wires since theyre typically next to impossible to locate). and its a good habit to have the ebrake on while parked anyway...
all that stuff is DEFIETLY not alarm related, maybe the not staring issue, but thats about it. and the starter kill relay is 3 dollars to change, Id start there and go forward

The videos are great. I like the way you keep the wires together. How do you feel about wire looms? Probably would make the install look better. But would make it harder to get at the wires though and make it harder for a car thief as well. I'm interested in how you go about mounting the car alarm's antenna in the car? Do you have to remove the A pillar trim piece? How do you route the car alarm antenna from the windshield behind the rear view mirror to the car alarm?

you can use any starter on the civic, its not the starter kit that makes it compatable with the car, its the optional bypass / integration module that does, and for the fit guide use one of these sites: ifar.ca for fortin, idatalink.com for idata, caralarm.com for omega link

Okay there is probably a rediculusly easy solution to this, but I have a omega Al-2060 EDPB, and I'm looking at the main 6 pin connector. It has high outputs for the starter and the ignition witch (10 guage wire I belive), but my 2006 Hummer H3 has very small ignition wires. leading me to belive that they are 250-500mli amp wires. And excuse my french, but I've looked through just about every damn fourm and looked though hundreds of videos. How in the hell do I get that down to a low output so that I don't fry that wire?

I have a 2002 subaru forester no need for bypass module. my unlock button unlocks the car, but the lock button just flashes the parking light and does not trigger the lock. I reverse the lock and unlock wires ...and the unlock button locks the door but the the lock button doesn't unlock door, the trouble seems to follow the wire from the module. could it be a bad module?
You probably have a 1 wire lock/unlock system. Do you know for sure? If you do, did you add the appropriate resistors in the lock and unlock wires' circuits??
jawojnicki I ended up ordering them same model and replace the module and it all works now. it was a,defected module.

I have connected one of the avital remote starter without the relay and it worked fine but this one is different... the box makes the noise like it is working but nothing happens... it locks and unlocks but that's it..

Yup great vid except for forgetting the remote start harness. Thats the one i needed. With the starter kills and how they are relayed and what not.

On my car the Tach output is (-) but on the remote starters brain the Tach input is (+) so would I use the same relay as the doors to reverse polarity so the tachsense will be accepted by the remote starters brain??
In all my years, never have I seen a - tach, does the car operate on negative voltage?

mine system has a nine pine that seems to be all factory alarm stuff, I'm just concerned because it's referred to as the "main harness"

you dont need to use diodes on your civic door triggers, diodes just oppose polarity feedback, dont even bother with it

I'm installing a dball2 into my pts Nissan 13 juke. It's rsr. The problem is I am not sure if I have to use key2GO. I can't use it since I am not a dealer. Any suggestions if I can get temporary access? I have looked all around for hours. I have the t-harness and dball hooked up. I did flash the right firmware I had bestbuy do the key2go. I just am not sure if I have to go back now and have them do something with their access? Or can I get a certain bypass and put a key in it? I would hugely appreciate any advise you can give me.

Lessco Electronics Thanks I had bestbuy flash it. The problem now is no matter what I do it won't recognize the key. I hit the push to start twice and wait a few seconds then hit the break and press it. I see a flashing orange light on dball2. I have double checked all the wires and to my knowledge it's hooked up properly Any suggestions on what I could check? Could it be a bad dball2 or t-harness?
Lessco Electronics I also tried hitting the program button 5 times on dball and its just a orange light that doesn't blink. Troubleshooting says it means everythings ok but there are more steps to do to program it. Anyway I can get into a more detailed troubleshooting mode?

btw i used the status out (on mine its blue too) to a relay for the clutch so its switch isnt completly bypassed like the installer did on the older alarm
