Great documentary. I mentor kids, too and they all sport J's I've passed on to them. I love seeing them excited and their confidence is boosted. I had J's in the 90s when I was in Jr and HS. I agree with you. I remember thinking that as long as I had fresh kicks, everything else would look good even if it was a pair of Walmart pants and a third shirt from Factory 2U. Great job.
The way lil homie lit up when you gave him some freebies was dope. I like the innocence of it all. He aint ask to be here, he aint ask to be bullied over some material shit. Well captured moment.
I have to disagree with that definition of a sneaker head. A sneaker head in general is anyone who has interest in sneakers and likes them for what they are. You can't say one isn't a sneaker head because he only has Adidas or Reeboks etc. If you love sneakers and have a collection. Youre a sneaker head, you have pride in what you do. Doesn't all have to be exclusive or rare.
Amaan Fazal well said. I'm adidas all day and can't stand Jordan's. I like footwear, trainers, chukka boots, loafers etc, but trainers are top for me. I've always been a English football fan/casual. So trainers are part of the uniform, since mid 80's and before. It's fashionable to be a "sneaker head" these days, but people been into trainers for many, many years before rich kids wearing supreme came into the mix.
This just randomly popped up on my recommended list. And wow! One of the best sneaker documentaries I've ever seen. Should def have more views! I would consider myself a shoehead, more than a sneakerhead. But the same passion is there! Been doing it for 20 years now. My girl gets mad at me when I order a pair of boots or whatever. Probably because I got more kicks than her. Lol. But as you know, we gotta keep the shoe game on point. Can't pass up a good deal. Keep doing what you enjoy. Much love bro.
I've never really been into sneakers or owned any really nice shoes myself, but recently I have taken interest in the sneaker culture. I love looking at something like this and seeing how someone's interest, that is totally different than any interests of mine, can make them feel the same happiness that I have when I'm doing something I love. Definitely a great documentary and I appreciate looking at and learning about other people's interest in and love for shoes and how great of an impact it has on their lives. Keep it up.
I know this an old video, but I'm just getting back in the shoe spirit and this was the right video i needed to see to let me know it's ok to go for what i want.
Well edited, great content, positive attitudes, great video. The true sneaker heads are people who love them shoes from their heart, not buying them because of the status. Great video man ty for bringing positive stuff to our community.
I'm from Milwaukee Wisconsin close to Chicago and it does get real for sneakers and I'm just grateful that you shined a light on it not many people know that's it's deeper than being materialistic but feeling like your worth something thank you for the hard work letting people in on what being a sneaker head really means
Man this warms my Heart. It was time for people to get a deeper look. I was so tired of people assuming who we are. Thank you for watching. Please share.
+Uptown Shoehead Bro that's amazing to hear. When I was setting up to do this project, people told me no one would care. So this is dope. I really appreciate it.
Great documentary Derek really good editing and cool content not just the glorification of having the rarest sneakers and latest drops like we are used to see in some sneaker documentary. Much love all the way from Portugal, Europe from a fellow sneakerhead
Loved the content, well done job. Keep pushing, spread positive energy, it's contagious 😊. I think it's super sweet that you spend QT with lil man, need more of that guiding encouragement. I am now a new new sub. Many Blessings, Kristen......last words " Always be stronger than your strongest excuse.". Peace,Love, Respect. 👧
Really liked your video.....thank u...especially the part with the cats from Beaumont, TX....I was born and live for the last 8 yrs in Beaumont TX, even though I lived 30 yrs and graduated out of Port Arthur Texas, and I’m a pretty big sneakerhead.....
Thankyou for making these man. Really appreciate all of your work im so inspired by all of your work one day imma look at my room full of shoes that i love godbless sir
I really appreciate it Jordan. I just had a side of the story that I felt needed to be told. thanks for the love. Please share the video and keep those feet fresh.
This popped up on my recommended vids and I'm glad I clicked. Although I don't agree with the "definition" listed in the beginning, since I very much enjoy my Adidas and New Balance sneakers, but this doc is very well put together and very insightful. Great job!
I agree with you about the definition. I was out voted for it. But just like you I collect everything. won't make that mistake again. thanks for watching.
Great video, truly explains how shoes can do good for people, and they aren't a waste of money, I love sneakers, and this video even changed my perception
Yo man this video has inspired me more than ever myself I am a sneakerhead from Chicago and I know what u mean when u said u didn't have the best sneakers coming up much respect to you for this video because a lot of people dnt understand our culture they think we are crazy for spending so much money on sneakers
Unbelievable documentary. Great editing. Some of the best production values I've seen in a sneaker doc. Really interesting commentary on the culture. In my experience, even though I grew up wearing Jordan's and Iverson Question Mid's, didn't really care about them. Didn't enter sneakerhead culture until I was around 19. Because of that, never sought status. Love sneakers and the culture in a vacuum purely for the love. Not looking for anything from it, but definitely get a certain powerful feeling walking out in Jordan 1's or Hero LeBron 11's, etc. This documentary hits on the emotional aspect of what it means to connect to a shoe. Definitely can relate.
+Content is King Also, nearly teared up seeing you give shoes away to kids. I've done the same. No feeling on earth like that look in their eye as they imagine what's possible. Gave my nephew my Global Game KD VII's last year. Will cherish that look in his eye forever. Keep representing the culture, brother.
It does but I love it. And some friends and family are the same "why do buy expensive shoes" and watching this video explain to people why. I have this Nike sb one are called the "sub-zero" and the other "scorpion" and I love those sneaker because me and my bro loved mortal kombat and we always watched it ever Saturday morning when we were little. I can go thru my whole collection and tell you the meaning behind it
Amazing video man. Love the passion you have beyond the sneakers. I have so much love and passion beyond mines as well. I collect from Jordan, lebron, Kobe, kds, Nike sb and more. When I pick my shoes it's because of the story and meaning behind it. Dope video and much respect✊🏼
The kids these days just want the money and the power that comes with owning a pair of Jordan's or Kobe's, but the real OG guys know the culture is more than just that, I'm young, and that vid made me to aspire to think a little more about the shoes I buy, great vid👌🏼
This is dope. I feel these people deeply. To some it’s more than just shoes. When I was younger I loved the Iverson pumps, the Nike shox, the Nike shox high tops, & air maxes. I never got to own any jordans til I was grown, but in school shoes made you feel accepted by some people & made you feel super happy to get a new pair. I used to get $60 allowance every week & I’d save it up or use it to buy a new pair of sneakers every other week. Then after that till just last year I wasn’t in it like that, I’d buy air maxes when I could usually once a year or so, but just last year I found my way back to sneakers & they make me feel good. It’s nice to have something that you really love that others think is cool too after dealing with people putting you down for so long. I still can’t afford sneakers like I want to, but I have a pair of jordan first class that I use for beaters & I was finally able to hustle around with Other items & get one of my grails which is the cactus jack 4. It made me feel sooo good to finally own that pair & it gave me hope that I can own the shoes I want & hopefully one day be able to sell shoes & have a store. This was a really nice documentary tho, I wish I would’ve seen it sooner. It really showed me that there’s more people out there like me, even other grown people. I give this a 11/10 rating for sure! 💯
Ha! Ha! that happened to my purple n white pumas! i was walking down the street n somethin sticky on my shoe i was like what is up. i looked down my shoes was dissolved. They had stayed in the box too long tge bottom soles had like melted on the hot ground. They was so fresh i just took a picture n threw them away! i only wore them once! i was waiting for the sumner. They was G. V. california specials . i bought them in L.A. Wore once in the Chi!!
Great documentary man! You should share this with Hes Kicks and Nightwing2303, they would surely enjoy it and get it out there because this should have WAY more views.

Thank You
When you gave those sneakers to the kid I felt really happy and grateful for this documentary.
Don't cry over batflips thank you.
When he gave the sneakers to the young boy that he's mentoring... my heart!!!
Great documentary. I mentor kids, too and they all sport J's I've passed on to them. I love seeing them excited and their confidence is boosted. I had J's in the 90s when I was in Jr and HS. You are absolutely right
When you gave that kid those shoes and his reaction was so nice. It made my heart melt. Good video man.
Yea brother. That was a great moment for me.

Yeah Buddy. The feet have to stay right. I'm like you in the since that I just love shoes in General. Thanks for the love brother.
I'd also recommend the sneaker documentary on Netflix called "Sneakerheadz" it's really good.
I've never really been into sneakers or owned any really nice shoes myself, but recently I have taken interest in the sneaker culture.
