This is one of the best phone designs. Ever.
Front
I recently bought a "refurbished" pixel 5 from Amazon and I gotta say....the phone still owns. I can understand why so many people were, and still are, in love with the form factor and the rear fingerprint scanner. The UI, even with the midrange SOC, is still very smooth. It's a shame the software has reached end-of-life, because the hardware is still solid. My daily is a Pixel 8 Pro but I could easily use the 5 during a medium-use day. I actually like the build of the 5 compared to the glass sandwiches of later Pixel phones. The 6, 7 and 8 feel rather hollow and plasticy with their edge bonded displays and glass backs. The 5 feels like the solid piece of aluminum that it actually is, and the weird plasti-coat has held up very well and has a good grip.
Just ordered one renewed from Amazon. Couldn't pass it up for the price. I miss using "smaller" phones. Can't wait to get it in.
@@iNguyenn I got mine on Amazon as well. It does show some wear around the USB port; the weird coating Google put over the phones metal frame does seem to chip after time, but the display is flawless and it feels incredibly solid. I think mine still has the original battery as it will quickly lose charge from 100% to 90%, then it seems to normalize. I've got a full day of use out of it but just barely, especially compared to a new phone. I do love its size and the rear fingerprint scanner still shames most under display ones.
@@OnTheRocks71 curious to see what kind of condition mine will be in. Either way for the price it'll be okay.
@@iNguyenn I have a Pixel 8 Pro, and the 5. I take the 5 to work sometimes and it basically does everything I need it to all day. Android 14 runs just fine on it. I think its biggest drawback is that Google is no longer sending out monthly security updates for it, which is a real shame because it's such a lovely device. I think mine is on Nov 2023 update.
How much?
Had my pixel 5 from launch. Best phone I've ever had for sure. Excellent all rounder. Battery life is still holding up very well considering . Hasn't really slowed down very much lts Been great always having the latest version of Android up until now. Majorly underrated simple functional phone design. Rare form factor these days and I think the ideal phone size/dimensions for myself. Still looks modern to this day. Nothing has really gone wrong with it all and it has always delivered
Will have to be regrettably upgrading at some time not too far in the future which is a great shame. Probably would get an iPhone 15 pro at this point
Does it have heating issue
People saying it has heating issue for even browsing the web
I would say: Keep it if you have it, but don't buy a new one.
How about buying it at something around 170 dollars?
@@Blehblehblehhowlongwillthisgo- That's alright, but be aware that official android support from google was discontinued in october 2023 (they still released Android 14 on it though) so if you want to keep it long term you might have to install another OS
How about buying a pre-owned one?
@@WoodLardi had my pixel 3 for 2 years and never cared about android updates, so why care now?
@@WoodLard "to keep it long term you might have to install another OS"? I am still using Pixel 2 XL on Android 10. Go figure.😂
I had one that I bought at the beginning of 2021, and while it was good at first, sometime between late last year and early this year I noticed that apps would start crashing and malfunctioning, and the battery kept draining more and more to the point where I had to keep it constantly plugged in before it finally gave out. On the other hand, my Pixel 2 XL that I bought almost 3 years prior to my Pixel 5 is still hanging on. Yes there are some downsides like a lack of 5G and slower loading times, but it still handles everything I need it to and the battery lasts through all or most of the day. Glad I kept it on me, otherwise I'd be screwed
I am surprised you don't sell phones that you fix and resell. Have you ever considered covering phone plans and coverage?
It's not available in my country sadly but It's available in neighbour country for 350 $ BRAND NEW is it worth buying for that price in 2024 ?
No
No get a pixel 6a it's in all around better phone you can get them for $100 on Black Friday
I want to buy one, new, largely because im looking for a smaller phone and a really good camera. But I'm not sure if the ones being sold by Amazon are actually new.
I like the size but the signal strength is bad.
Do you still get Unlimited google photos?
Yes
Bro my battery drain very fast 3 hour backup only ... I buy new one but it drain fast . Does anyone has any advice to save battery ..
Bro, now u just start putting some more camera samples in your video
Can i transfer photo and video files from my laptop to the phone to upload or will this count towards my 15gb quota?
Is there still a heating issue and dead board issue on 5A?
Did u bought one pixel 5 does it have heating issue
Is this your main phone? What hiccups have you run into with Android 14 on it? I'm pretty on the fence on installing 14. Back when 12 was released I reverted to 11 because of some critical fail or other (was text/call related). 13 Has been working though. Have you considered installing another OS such as lineage/crDroid/etc?
I'm interested to know as well. I've heard some horror stories of people updating the 5 to 14 and I'm scared to install it as there won't be any further updates.
I'm on android 14 with the latest updates possible and the battery life is insanely good. Still some random choppiness that goes with Android itself compared to iOS but idk, I'd say it's not something to worry about going to android 14.
@@ambientrealms_ "Latest updates possible" Soooo as far as I'm aware pixel 5 doesn't provide updates, just the initial 1.0 release of android 14. That's why we're iffy on it in this thread.
@@Michael_Print I would highly recommend looking into some custom software. The reason why I switched from my Samsung to one of these is that there's a great community of developers that are, and always will be, making ROMs for this device that are stable and up to date. Even the almost 8 year old original Pixel is still officially supported by LineageOS with Android 14 and the latest security updates 😀
@@d47000 Thanks I didn't know about the security update aspect. Will consider if I don't end up trading it in. Though that free photo/video upload ended with the pixel 5... :x
I think I'm buying a refurbished one on Amazon, it is $200 USD in my country, and I'm replacing the Poco M5s I have right now, thank you!
Como está sendo sua experiência? Tô pensando em pegar um Também. Sou usuário do POCO C65. Eu iria pegar um iPhone XR ou 11 mas seria muito burrice minha
Snapdragon is amazing! This is the best google pixel phone to buy! Google tensor is 🤮🤮🤮.
So is it advisable to buy the Google Pixel 5 in 2024?
@@droidergtxd6195 Absolutely!
next video: is playing subway surfers in 2024 worth it !?
Pixel 4a LTE (Barely Blue, 6GB RAM, 128GB Storage) does it supports 5g india I was ordered 5 days ago so I don't no amazon seller is mentioned cellular technology with 5g supports
so please tell me purchase or not sir please tell me Its 5g supports in india
you can easily google it
This pixel 5 will get the adroid 14 os update?
Yup
Pixel 5 is way better than pixel 8 pro. Sorry I tried upgrading and pixel 5 was way better than 8 pro in so many ways including camera quality which I thought 8pro was better but it distorted images made them fat wide and ugly looking. Sound quality was the same and pixel 5 doesn't get hot at all. 8 pro gets hot on your hands. Also 8 pro screen is too sensitive
Better than 8A
Why are you whispering? 😂
I have pixel 5 but my display is broken any way to fix it where to buy a display
How's your battery holding up
My 5 has better signal strengths and battery life then my 6 Pro, Plus it's never overheated.
@@hell240 mine's just 4-5 screen on time a day. I think I should replace my battery
Mine is dead, full charge 6h ago, only 1h44 SOT and its at 64% now
Mine is at 50% it's original capacity. This phone used to be used as a dashcam before I owned it.
@@celsodeloiii225Try installing Battery Guru and leave it to run in the background for around 2 days with your normal use and charging routine. Then check the battery health section
Just get a pixel 6A for $100 it's an all-around better phone anyway, great video
Not the design
@@MrNecropodo I think the design looks better on the Google Pixel 6A the pixel 5 is kind of outdated
@@AndyisIDC pixel 5 is smaller, some people like smaller phones
@@CJ-vq5tg actually they're the same size. Do your research before leaving comments
Pixel 5 is smaller for sure
Hi
