      I would but if you grind corn with an Allis-Chalmers you gain 9.6 pounds of milk per cow per day whereas if you use other brands you can lose 9.6 pounds of milk per day.

      Works pretty good. I picked it up at an auction for 900$ and cut the mixer part of it that was rusted. The best deal I got on that sale was a gew 98 rifle from ww1 for 150$. They handed me the gun immediately and I walked around the rest of the sale armed lol

    what do you cover it with?

      I use two pieces of plastic and pull them over each other but I have been grinding every ten days since I ran out. If I don't cover it maybe we can get some rain. lol though we did get an inch Sunday which was the first moisture all summer that I could read in the rain gauge without a microscope

    Corn meal is great feed but expensive because we have to buy it from the co op which they import from the US

      Its a gehl 120, bought it a couple years ago and cut the mixer part off it because it was rusted pretty bad. All hydraulic which is nice. The discharge auger is getting a little rough. It doesn't have much wear but the salt in the mixer tub was hard on it and the discharge

      You didn't buy a 2-155 today by chance?

    • @jakeziegler599
      @jakeziegler599 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      mr Bill dairy cows?

    • @mrbill4187
      @mrbill4187  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, milk about fifty or so. Think about selling the cows everyday but I never seem to do it. lol

      mr Bill every one of us think about selling every day LoL. I suspect I will be forced out either Dean foods will send us the letter or our hauler will quit .

      @mrbill4187  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I keep hoping , that they'll just force me to quit. We got a new milk inspector that's trying to get rid of the smaller guys I think with some of the things she wants done. I saw one of your comments on Jeff Reymond that you were milking so I had to check your channel out.

      Ya, we were 3.53 yesterday. I had this corn on my uncles wagon that he stores inside so I put corn in it last fall. Got a tandem truck yet then I will have to buy some

    • @LVFFarmVlogs
      @LVFFarmVlogs 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sucks having to buy feed, I only have about half of the hay I will need for this winter, so might end up chopping more corn than planned... Like you said, good thing its cheap!

    • @mrbill4187
      @mrbill4187  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll have to chop a lot to this fall. Got an inch Sunday and that was the first rain of the summer that registered in the gauge. Not much hay, I'm glad I baled some rye
