Most of them ya see have been severely abused, I bought this one probably 20 years ago on an estate sale. The guy that owned it retired from GM and bought it new, farmed till he was 80 and left it in the shed till he died at 90😆 had alot of bugs from sittin but its been a good tractor. I'm ashamed I don't keep it as clean as I used to, dang dairy cows take away a guys motivation🤣. Thanks for watching Jeff
Dad had an old 95, I can't remember what broke but nothin to major but he started having the co-op grind corn. When I started doing everything I said the heck with that 15 dollar a ton charge🤣 Dads old 95 got scrapped so I picked this oner up for 600 bucks, little torchin and welding and it works good. Hope things are going good on Holst farm👍
I need a muffler for it if I keep grindin with it😆 This wagon of corn was actually 2019 corn shelled in the spring of 2020, been in the shed for a year and a half😳
I'm going to need new belts on this unit next year, I didn't have the guard fastened properly and it was rubbin last year and I started getting hit with chunks of belt, I'm sure that'll be an expensive one by the looks of it😆. Thanks fer watchin, can't go wrong with orange power
@@mrbill4187 I use to help them grind feed, they knew when they were feeding it to heavy, because the belts would start to screech, was pretty impressed I was only 12 at the time, the 7040 was huge, and she'd never back down

We have an old 400 JD Mill that's set up like that for grinding wet corn works good!👍

My friend's bought a new 7040 in 1976, and they had a gehl mix-mill, the 7040 would smoke the belts before the engine would back down
