What it Took to Climb Everest: Savita Kanswal's Interview Before Avalanche Death

After nine successful expeditions, 25-year-old Savita Kanswal from Uttarkashi scaled the world’s highest peak - Mount Everest. Not only that, she become India's first woman to climb Mt Everest and Mt Makalu in a gap of 16 days. In a candid chat with The Quint, she opened up about the risks on top as well as the challenges she had to face in her village before reaching the summit.
Kanswal was among those killed in a massive avalanche in Draupadi's Danda-2 mountain peak in Uttarakhand on Tuesday, 4 October.
