Freewing MiG 29 powered by a single Xicoy X45 Turbine

- Yoda from RCSkunkWorksADP impressed us with his Freewing MiG-29 in which he removed the EDFS and the need for 2 heavy 6s packs and replaced it with the Xicoy X45 Turbine setup, very clean, light and flies exceptionally well. Only other mods were replacing the Elevator servos and linkages.
Very honest aircraft and tracks like an arrow!

Camera audio cutting out makes the engine sound like its popping, but if it did that it would just flameout on acceleration so it has to be the camera doing that.
Wind affecting the Mic so it comes in and out. It’s an audio issue not an issue with the model.
Pls let me know CG value and elevator position for your Mig29 with X45
Howdy! so the CG we went with is about 10mm ahead of the factory position. Then you can work around from there. Thanks for watching

Thanks for watching Keropit! I’m putting together a video going into some details of the setup. The CG is about 5mm behind the recommended but still testing on going back a further 5mm. Takeoff weight is about 5.6kg I believe

My Mig 29 with X45 is fueled 1l 5.9 kg
I have now set the CG to 160mm
I have also modified a lot :-)

Thanks for watching Jordyb! Its surprising it doesn't but there is heat shielding to protect the foam and the thrust angle of the turbine pushes that heat down and away.
