- Its only been a short few weeks since Yoda converted the Freewing A-4 Skyhawk to turbine, little did I know that he already had a Freewing T-45 on the way to convert and WOW! What a machine! This is one happy pilot and doesn't it just have a lot of presence in the air! Well done Yoda! great mods, great conversion and great machine!

Super nice. Looking around youtube and seems like you are the only one with the freewing 90mm turbine conversion or is there a video I'm missing? Would you be kind enough to share the installation of the Applebaum tank and pipe? What foam needs to be cut? If I have the location, to mount the turbine forward/aft I can figure the rest out. Can you help?

1.2lt tank, getting about 7-8 mins in the air depending how hard you push it

Thanks for watching! So the turbine is where the EDF was, and the thrust tube sits in behind that. You can see the tube and turbine from the rear at the start up. Because of the thrust tube design it’s cool to touch even when the turbine is running so the foam is protected

So I need to get a T-45 for my Lambert Kolibri T-25 (engine weight 250 grams @2,8kp thrust)! The result might be a T-45 sailplane :-)

Hi did you detune the X45 or run it at the full 45N?
Hey ozboofhead64, no they aren't detuned or tuned up to the 4.8n they are factory standard settings. I think the autorestart has been activated that's the only change
Thanks MickeyBRC run the X45 on the Sebart Avanti @ 35N - got me looking at the T45 as another model. Did it cost significant shipping to get the conversion kit from Paul in the US?
@@ozboofhead64 That Avanti is nice! you could probably wind up to 45n with no issue. My FW MiG21 runs the X-45 at factory setting, a little rocket! haha. I think for Paul's conversion kit you are looking at around $400aud mark delivered, That includes your duel walled pipe, custom fuel tank, and the air trap. Give or take depending on currency conversion. I'm about to start on my T-45 once it arrives here in the country.
