Basically introverts like the to be on their own, while extroverts like to socialise. Ambiverts are a mixture of both.

I'm the oldest child in my family and most of this was true except the part about getting the most attention. I feel like the youngest gets the most attention because they can't comprehend things as well as the middle and older child can. I believe the parents think that since the older children know how to do basic things in every day life that the younger children need more attention and help with everyday activities. Every family is different but in my family the youngest gets the most attention.
Also, I've noticed the older siblings get away with doing things more than the younger siblings do. Like for example, I go through my little sisters makeup. She gets pissed and goes and tells our mom. Our mom would say "it's not a big deal just tell her to leave". If the younger sibling is going through the older siblings makeup the mother would say "(insert name here) needs her privacy so you shouldn't be going through her stuff."

Ashh 1165 In my family, before my brother and sister moved out, and before I started sports. I was barely noticed, the only time I talked to my mom was when I needed food. I barely talked to my dad. I could leave the house using the front door, making a bunch of noise and no one realized I was gone till 2 hrs later. I got away with everything bc they barely noticed me😂😂. Then my brother and sister started working, I started swimming and well they started noticing me....

I am the youngest child and find this video relatable, but because of my age gap with my siblings, I have sort of experienced all the different roles. Like taking care of my older sisters and metally maturing faster to "catch up" with them, on the flip side I like to be well rounded with extracurriculars, academics and being social. My sisters are all moved out at this point and I am basically living the only child life, it's so interesting how many different factors can go into changing your personality like when you were born :) phew sorry about my longwinded comment.

*middle* : also pretty independent, follows after parent's footsteps for the most part. kinda the one to sit back and relax and not really worry about stuff. _vanity is a necessity, and pride is a main difficulty._
*youngest (me)* : high expectations on self, s h o w o f f , the most independent of the bunch, the most mature (according to parents), show off, puts the pressure on themselves to do the best to become "worthy" of the attention they recieve, *show off*, trying their best (probably an overachiever), did i mention they're a show off? _humility is a necessity, and alienation is a main difficulty._

As the oldest child I remember being beaten to a near pulp for anything my younger siblings did wrong by my Birth Father & Step Mother.
Their logic was the only reason they were misbehaving was. Because *I* clear wasn't setting a good enough example for them.
Of course they (especially my sister) would then misbehave even more on purpose. Because they thought it was funny to hear me screaming every time. I got lashed across my back with my Birth Father's belt.
Now I'm an adult I have washed my hands with the lot of them. & have as little to do with them as possible. I don't contact them & maybe see them once every two to three years. If I'm forced to because of extended family get togethers.
They asked me why I don't speak or have anything to do with them & I told them why. & you know what they can't understand why I dislike them.
They think I'm just over reacting & that I need to forget about it because its no big deal.
Sorry but the scars on my back & my lost childhood are something that I'll *never* be able to forget.

On the bright side though, it's not all a sack of coal. Middle: outgoings, confidence, responsible, loud. (As a child u didn’t get a lot of the attention so they feel they should act out o get the attention)

As the oldest, I do feel I was given more attention than my younger brother and I feel bad because we're always getting compared to one another because I'm the smart one and he's seen as the dumb one. It hurts me to see him like that and he feels worthless because he can't live up to me. I feel like seeing a younger sibling fail etc, is a lot harder than failing yourself. It's tough to see a loved one like that and you feel as though you can't help them
I'm in a similar situation.
Except my sister is a year younger than me, and she isn't sad, she's very, very angry. At me. She has been. For like, my entire life.
I was the little sister in that sort of situation. I used to be a bit jealous of my big brother. But today I know we've both got our strengths and weaknesses, just in different areas.
He has his strengths, let him know that. Heck, more than likely he's even better than you at more than a few things. Let him help you in that case.
And he's gotta get in the good habit of trying all the new things that interest him, stuff you haven't even thought of doing maybe, and make his own identity.
I was tired of people knowing me as "his sister" and always comparing me to my brother so trying out different classes and clubs, making myself more different from him helped (and was a ton of fun as I found new hobbies and such that stuck). As I got to know myself and built myself I began to really like who I really was inside and was growing into. I accepted my shortcomings but also still wanted to improve myself, but for myself this time, not to be better than someone else. It's not about living up to someone, but about living up to yourself. But it takes time to realize these things.
I believe you can help him help himself. This is by my experience though, so take it as you may… To you and your families, the best of luck. :>
My sister sometimes complains about not getting as much attention but it's kind of like you can explain to them they have their own strengths and they don't have to be you but I feel it would take time for it to sink in.

I'm the youngest and that's not true lol. Since I'm the youngest, my parents expect me to surpass ALL of my siblings. Plus, my siblings pick on me, JUST because I'm the youngest and I can't say anything back to them because that would be "disrespectful". +Just Chilin it's the opposite for me, there's like a 7 year gap between me and my oldest sister so whenever I snitched on my sister my parents always believed her because they've known her longer. Kind of unfair at times but at least now that we're all grown up it's more of who's the most believable

When I was a kid I didn't like my siblings, I'm the oldest one, and they were pretty annoying and loud. Now I'm 20 year old and I love them so much, they're still loud and annoying but we share a live together, we support each other when everything seems wrong and share our happiness when everything goes well.

I don't like people too much either. I have some classmates who I hang out with but even when they call me their friend I wouldn't call them. It's probably because I have a different understanding of the word friend. But honestly I'm just really different from the rest of the people. My classmates spend all their time on the phones, love junk food, don't take studying seriously etc. I'm not like that. And this makes finding friends really hard. I want a friend who is intellectual, likes to talk and is kind. But someone like that is hard to find these days. Oh well...
