Oh Louise, I thoroughly enjoy your channel for so many reasons. Your method of instruction is impeccable and so easy to understand. The calmness in your voice is encouraging and makes me feel confident that I can do this. And...last, but not least...LOVE when you add the outtakes at the end. Nice to have a reminder of how much time and effort goes into this process - makes me appreciate your gift even more. Be well! 🌞
You are so adorable when you do your bloopers at the end it makes me laugh out loud! I’m on Skillshare because of you and am looking forward to taking some of your classes. As always your tutorials are wonderful Louise... thank you for sharing!
Hello louise my name is solomon, I thank you very much for the video was very helpful, I love your personality and you are the best watercolor teacher I have ever had, someday I would like to show you my paintings, I hope you are having a great time and take care ❤️❤️❤️
I love that you show a human side at the end of your tutorials.I plan to join Patreon at the beginning of the month. Thank you for your wonderful work. And I agree completely with everything the person before me wrote. Thank you.
You leave me with the wonderment of a child... So amazing to just watch the beauty burst into it's shapes on your page. The colors are so delicious I can faintly smell them! I love it, thank you.
Louise, you do such wonderful justice to the most beautiful and fascinating fuschia. They were one of my mother's very favorite flowers. I so look forward to trying them right along with you on Patreon. 🥰
@@LouiseDeMasi I love it and I am waiting for the tutorial on Patreon as well. When do you think it will be upload? I've started but i need more learning to can finish it :) Thank you so much Louise for these amazing teaching
I love all the layering, I never knew how much time goes into preparing . Maybe that’s why my art looks like a beginner. I will try it your way. Thanks for your time in explaining I like that.
I love this, thank you for sharing. I love the size of the flowers. Ive started doing mine bigger since watching you. It give you a lot more scope. I was far too fiddly. X
I tell people to put things in, in odd numbers and i get crickets back before they rush to ignore me. One of the very first things I learned from you, was to put the yellow on the first layer and the green on top - it makes such a difference! And I love playing with alternative colors, like blues on the yellows, or red iron oxide, cause not everything is spring green, and I feel that some decay in a picture enhances the beauty. Thanks for another lovely video!
I wanted to give more likes to this painting and I happened to be watching your video from my husbands phone 😊 That’s 2 👍 from me. Loved the details and thank you for explaining how you select the pictures and the thumbnail workout.
i love how you are such a pro and at the end you make me laugh. it makes me wonder how many you tubers i watch flub up its very entertaining please always add bloopers
@@LouiseDeMasi inspired by your tutorial I painted couple of roses for my bestie and she just loved them. Once more heartfelt thanks to you for the tutorial.
I love your channel and your Patreon tutorials! I learn so much!! This fuchsia is gorgeous and I look forward to painting it along with your tutorial. Thank you so much!
I adored every moment of that video, and can't wait to try it on Patreon! I've had a fuchsia photo I'd been holding onto to try sometime, but yours is perfect - thank you for reading my mind! Love your bloopers as always...
You’re welcome. Thank you Sarah. It's a bit messy but it comes off ok. I am using the graphite method lately. I want to get a projector next year - I hope. 😊
Such a lovely painting and your guidance is so helpful. I am following your tutorial now in sketchbook and will do a full painting afterward. I have a problem when picking up paint directly from the pigment, it doesn't seem to flow from the brush.
I finally did the Galah. I guess the deco d try will give me some softer no as. But the one workshop with you has shown me so much. I'm looking forward to this flower with you. Thanks so much your art is beautiful....
This was a very interesting video. I love how you handle shadows :) I wish I could get your advice on the process before all my paintings... you make it look so easy!! :)
Have you seen the Etchr Mirror for artists? Aussie company worth supporting. It allows you to draw onto wc paper from a pic on a phone or iPad. So I guess you would take a pic of your sketch, then ‘project’ it onto the paper, skipping the graphite steps. Simple but effective technology. Lovely painting, and fab cast shadows!
Hi Fiona, Thank you! I have written about the differences here on my website: www.louisedemasi.com/new-index-2 Let me know if you still have questions after reading that. 💕
Thank you Tricia. I use a sharp knife to cut it from the board. I pry the staples out of the board with a letter opener. I pull the staples out of the paper and then I trim the gummed tape off the paper with my paper cutter. It gives me a nice straight edge.
Forgot to mention, I love your top, (sounds creepy doesn't it, sorry... but it is a compliment) the color, the pattern and the neckline suit you perfectly.
Here I used 300gsm paper. 640gsm is good because you don't really need to stretch it unless you are going to work super wet. It's more expensive than 300gsm though. Thank you!
I love fuchsia plants! How come you don’t use the Saral yellow paper? I use that whenever I am transferring a picture and there is no smudging at all. Also, because it transfers yellow, I never have any lines showing up after painting. No need to erase your lines to a saint tracing. I don’t know if you have tried that yet but you might want to try the yellow paper because it works beautifully.
When you use your own photos is there a photo editing program you use to get the picture to scale to transfer to paper. A friend sent me the most gorgeous woodpecker but the file size when I print from my phone is just too big and I don’t know how to scale it down. I don’t draw so I like to trace my pictures to the watercolor paper. Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
I used 500 grams cold pressed watercolor paper, after a while it seemed as if the paper no longer gripped or damaged ... this could be due to the quality because the paper is thick enough. What did I do wrong?
I transfer my image on a tracing paper, by using a pen. I make my own 'graphite' paper using pencil that is scribbled on plain paper, which I place down on the watercolour paper. The tracing paper is placed on top of the 'graphite' paper & then I re-draw the image. Here is video showing more soft edges in a loose, floral painting: th-cam.com/video/Fg-yNMXLWFo/w-d-xo.html
You made statements at the beginning of the video that make it seem you are limiting your art, in order to make TH-cam tutorials. This is the main reason I avoid becoming a TH-cam artist. Art comes first for me, so it’s a decision I’ve made. I do appreciate however if being a teacher is of higher importance to you. Your service is also valuable.
Thank you Donald. I meant for my Patreon tutorials rather than my TH-cam tutorials. When I make my Patreon tutorials I don't skip over anything. Here on TH-cam my tutorials are 15 to 20 minutes long whereas my Patreon tutorials are between 1 and 2 hours long. They take many days to complete and the more involved the painting is the longer the tutorial will be. I prefer to keep some of them a bit simpler so I can produce them quicker and so my patrons don't become overwhelmed. When I paint for myself I take my time and put lots more detail in. I try to paint for myself as often as I can because I enjoy it so much more when I'm not inhibited by the camera so I understand what you mentioned.
