Wonderfully sung as always! Thank you so much from Germany! But I have to admit that the melody touches me strangely. I only know the melody from the German national anthem. And now a wonderful song to the glory of God? For me that means: Germany, wake up and turn back to God!
Greetings from The United States (Virginia). We used to sing this tune to The Apostles Creed many years ago. I really wish our church would start singing it again, at least once a month or so. Blessings to you and yours.
Yes, we also sing another powerful English hymn called, “I am waiting for the dawning” that speaks of the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Powerful song set to the beautiful melody.!🙂
When you uploaded this, I was in the middle of a 9-1-1 medical call. When I got home, my mother chose this song for morning worship. The song was #911 in our book. I laughed and said that I had already sung the 9-1-1 song this morning. She replied, "We can sing it again!" Funny thing was, even though I was in full uniform when she first saw me, it didn't register that I had been absent for the last 4 hours. She didn't know I had been singing something more like "We're Always Ready for the Call...." (Coast Guard song) Nice rendition. Thanks again! Never forget where our true Homeland is!
Praise God my brother, I love Singing for God as well, can't wait to sing with the Body of Christ when Jesus returns. 🎤Wow. Can't wait to see Jesus. Praying for those that are not ready to meet God. 🙏
Thank you, Brother Eldridge, for recording this beautiful hymn! Sadly, is not lead in American worship assemblies as it was in my childhood. Indeed, Glorious things of Thee are spoken thru out His Word!!!! May God continue to bless you as you serve Him!
Tuning in from Canada. So beautiful. i love this hymn and lyric. i love how You glorify God. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. i will tune in all the time. I use to sing in an Acapella group. How i miss it. Peace, love and Light be with you.
Today is a holiday in my city. I live in interior, in the Legal Amazon region, in Brazil. Do you know what my greatest joy is this morning? Listen to the wonderful hymns sung by you, Michael! I wish God to greatly bless this Ministry of yours: to bring throught music, the name of Jesus and the a Infinite Grace of God to millions of people all over the world! How blessed you are! May God always be with you! Praised be God! 🙏👏🙂🙏
John Newton (yes the "Amazing Grace" Newton) wrote this wonderful hymn in 1879, Joseph Haydn wrote the music in 1897. Haydn's composition has also graced Austria (Kaiserlied); Germany as a national hymn and in 1922 as the German national anthem (Deutchlandlied). It was already established at least 10 years before the Nazis came to power, and is still the national anthem of Germany.
A fun story about this hymn: here in the UK, it's normally sung not to "Austria" (as in this video), but to a different tune called "Abbot's Leigh". Which was written in 1943 by the assistant head of religious broadcasting at the BBC, because it was considered too awkward to be singing a hymn to the German national anthem during WWII! I do love both tunes though.
My heart flowed in tears after hearing your arrangement. I truly felt God's glory through your voices. Thank you for releasing these. May God continue to be our Rock of Ages forevermore.
Very beautiful rendition! In my church's hymnal (Old School Hymnal), Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken is published to the tune of RIPLEY. I think I like the tune of AUSTRIAN HYMN that you sing better for it. Either are beautiful for a well-written song and I'm enjoying listening to your music on repeat. Thanks for sharing and God bless!
Hey! Thank you for all the songs! I was wondering if you could send me each voice for the: "just as I am" song. I want to learn it with my brothers and my dad. Thank you anyway!
Brother, I appreciate all your works. I put your songs on always on repeat. I was just wondering if you could do on the song 'In the land of fadeless day' sometime in the future. God bless!
This is only a half sentence. The full sentence is “Savior, since of Zion’s city, I through grace a member am, let the world deride or pity; I will glory in Thy name.” The claim that only members of a specific church by earthly designations will be saved is not a statement that this song makes. This song speaks to the benefits of being a citizen of God’s kingdom, and He draws those boundaries. “The Lord knows those who are His.” (2 Timothy 2:19)
@@Acapeldridge Amen; God alone has the Heavenly register, and no earthly membership register; sda or otherwise, defines the remnant. Therefore, the modern sda doctrine/baptismal vow that declares, and I quote: "The sda church is the remnant." is misleading at best. Ellen White never taught that sda membership is the remnant, and that was back before this doctrine was added and before the church taught that the Holy Ghost is a 3rd Being, rather than Jesus' Spirit; the Spirit "of Truth" (Jesus = Truth).

I really like the hungarian national anthem, it start with: "God bless the hungarian" The first word is praying to the God.
