Hymns! So rich in theology. So beautiful. Let’s hope channels and efforts like this help people see what they are missing when their diet is contemporary Christian music.
The hymns are pretty standard fare in the Church of Christ. They contain amazing poetry AND doctrine. I think the issue with the contemporary music might just be that not enough time has passed. All the hymns we sing have passed the test of one or two hundred years. I am sure some contemporary songs will be considered hymns in time.
Thank you for getting us in the mood to praise God so wonderfully: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” Psalm 150:6 ESV Greetings from Germany!
Have a blessed Sabbath. The 7th day of the Week. We should keep Sabbath as our day of rest and worship GOD. Not Sunday. Sunday is 1st working day of the week. GOD commands us to keep the Sabbath not the sunday
@@simeonlewi3853 after Jesus' Resurrection, Sunday was held sacred as the Lord's day in remembrance of His Resurrection, see 📖Acts 20:7 and understand.
I enjoy learning the words to hymns like this! We never sing it in church but I know the tune and first verse well, and I know a piano solo of it that I love. I also have enjoyed learning the words to Christmas hymns from your album I purchased. The purity and simplicity of your style following the exact hymn notes and timing is always appreciated.
It is truly astonishing how much the tone of many of your songs and this one in particular resemble the sound of the pump organ my mother played during worship services 75 years ago!
You are wonderful! I am 74 years old and just discovered your channel. Please keep up the good work it’s so inspirational. God bless you and I look forward to listening to you more and more and more.
Song suggestion: "His Sheep Am I" starts out "In God's green pastures feeding by His cool waters lie..." It's a really excellent hymn with LOTS of stanzas, and a few of them are extra wonderful.
Nesses tempos de canções sem sentido, vazias, ouvir um louvor como este enche o coração de esperança e alegria. Ainda há quem louve ao Senhor com excelência. Louvado seja Deus 🙌🇧🇷
Fantastic! I’m leading this hymn as cantor this Sunday. Just for fun, I wish I had the other voice parts to see if I could do each of the four parts. Anyway, it was fun, and it was great.

Man, I love all the songs you perform. Even though I love music with all the instruments out there, I am still mainly drawn to A Capella style music. You can definitely feel the emotions and feelings that are intended for each song you sing. I so wish I had a good enough range in my voice to sing all the parts. I need to purchase a few of your albums. I have a 30 minute drive to work every day and would love to fill my spirit with this. Thank you for your videos man.
Mmm! So lovely. Your vocal range always amazes me in these 1 man a cappella arrangements. I'm curious, though. Is this high tenor part straight out of the hymnal? Or, did you take some (wonderful) liberties there to display your counter-tenor capabilities?
The tenor and alto parts are exactly as they’re written in the hymnal. The bass is too. The “lead” is just the soprano part an octave lower. Very rarely do I change any of the original harmonies, although sometimes I’ll deepen the harmony of a chord if (when moving the soprano part down an octave) I’m singing the same note twice.
@@AcapeldridgeAh. I wondered, because your rendition here just sounds so much richer than when our choir sings it -- a testament to your vocal skill. Apparently, it was the alto part I was hearing as a high harmony, with the soprano down an octave -- just never heard that part ring through quite so clearly, I guess ... kudos.
There is a guy in the King's Singers who looks just like you. With them being an a cappella music group, it's quite a coincidence. His name is Christopher Bruerton.
You always remind me my Dad who pass in his last breath listening your music calm him down, and sleep in God's hand.
May the memory of your dad be a blessing
Sending Love !!!

Wonderful singing of this hymn. Quite a pity that hymns like these are rarely heard in church these days.
you are so right!
Agreed. But, there are still some ☺️
Becket Cook describes hymns as theologically rich and pop Christian music as theologically anaemic ...
I am very blessed by your amazing talent.

From a prayer of St Francis of Assisi in the 12th century, combined with traditional German melody, it is still beautiful centuries later. ❤
