- Are those amazon steaks worth your money or not? Let's find out together! Amazon has become the place where we buy most of our things but steaks? What the heck is this?
I don't know if I've been living under a rock for a while but I had no idea they were selling steaks! And I'm not talking about steaks from Wholefood, we are talking about real prime steaks they ship to your home as if it was any other merchandise! I found this too crazy so I went online and bought myself 2 nice prime steaks that they delivered within 2 days as if it was any other thing they sell. That blew my mind off!

The problem with Amazon has been shown in this video. It's good at everything, but not the best in anything.
When it comes to steaks, stick with your local supermarket or your local butcher. Even wagyu from Walmart is amazing.

especially because Amazon charges MORE per pound than the butcher! some things just shouldn't come from Amazon and this is definitely one of them.
and grocery stores are even cheaper, and even their quality is better than Amazon
do not buy bread from amazon fresh either. for some reason they smell sour and yeasty and go bad within a week.

@@SaltyTales yeah but it's hard to find full on packer briskets that's what junior likes to cook a hefty 15-20 pound beast lol but we always support our local mom and pop over chain places when we can we're looking into a venture of maybe opening a bodega for the Latino peeps that miss home but time will tell 😉

I’d never freeze my steak unless I have too. They are thin looking too. But if anyone can make a frozen skinny Amazon steak taste ok it would be you Ninja. Great video, much appreciated for the heads up

I've had mixed reactions with the amazon fresh meat. The ground beef seems perfectly fine but be careful ordering steak fillets. They trick you by zooming in the picture on the site then when you get the steak it's a tiny weird mangled piece

Thanks, pal! Now I know to just stay away. If I want garden-variety steaks, I'll stick with the manager's special apot at the local grocery store. 5 or 6 tri-tip steaks for under $15? Vacuum-seal 'em with granulated garlic and Lawry's seasoned salt and forget about them for a couple days in the fridge, then freeze a few for long-term. They come out quite nice, even in the air-fryer in the lunchroom at work!

I think something needs to be cleared up... that's not an "Amazon steak."
Amazon acts both as a seller and a marketplace. They sell things that they have bought and sell to you; these will show as 'Shipped and sold by Amazon' and under the Add to Cart section the 'Ships From' and 'Sold by' will be Amazon. They also allow others to list and sell on their site and Amazon will take a cut of their sales. In these cases, when you look under the Add to Cart section the 'Ships from' and 'Sold by' will be someone other than Amazon.
When it was being added to the cart you could see that the 'Ships from' and 'Sold by' are both Catullo Prime Meats which when googled is a butcher shop in Youngstown, OH. Amazon is not the seller and is just taking a cut. Saying these are Amazon steaks is like saying a steak you bought off some seller on eBay (yes you can find steaks on ebay) is an eBay steak.
I am sure there are other sellers selling steak on amazon too so any reviews would need to be for the particular seller. Otherwise you are doing the equivalent of buying a steak online from Omaha Steaks and grading all steaks sold on the internet based off of those results.
I was thinking this the whole time. We can also see that it was clearly a bait and switch sale as those vacuum bags had the certified angus beef sticker which is usually considered equal to choice, high choice at best but isn't a USDA grade nor will it generally rival prime.

Try the steaks from Wildfork Foods next time. Just about everything they sell is the same price or cheaper than walmart and the quality is way better. I've been ordering once a week. Just got a 2.68 pound Porterhouse from them that's on the grill right now.

I'd be on the phone with Amazon. Get your money back. Set up a return online and odds are they'll give you a refund right away. Consumables are not returnable.

Most consumables they don't ask for a return. I bought some salt and it was wrong. When I setup the return it said I've been issued a refund and no need to return the product. This has happened a handful of times with other products.
