    Man it sucks seeing Brian react to the damage, but hey as far as parts go it could've been a lot worse, and even if it can't rip this weekend I'm sure you'd rather it break now in the shop then throw a rod on the track or something. you boys will get it sorted soon, keep up the work lads

      Yeah if you use a cam that’s not a gm cam you should def check length. All GM cams should work with stock length and the stock LS7 style hydraulic lifters. But when u got Bigfoot’s schlong in there should prolly check lol, I’m loving watching this build cause mines very similar with my e36 but taking way longer!

  • @ardennielsen3761
    @ardennielsen3761 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    braking in the valve guides to run at a temperature range that they were not cut to run at takes a while... holding it at the dyno power wattage to keep it at 65mph while wide open is so many watts and when you see that number starting to fall one of the reasons is that the valve overlap is increasing via the exhaust valves getting to hot and sticking in the guides. it would be easy to get a volt/watt meter on the power wire for the dyno if it doesn't already have one in the software.

  • @ardennielsen3761
    @ardennielsen3761 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    exhaust port temperature sensors relay a signal to the ECU that will cut back the motor if they get to hot, thus preventing the valves from sticking in the guides from thermal expansion... calibrate them to the ratio of thermal rating of the valves in line with the application specific valve guide to stem clearance that coincides with the thermal expansion of the valve and valve guide. want to run it that hot you need to loosen up the valve guides a few thousandths of an inch.
