@MrThunderwing, hey man, where do you get the outrun 2 game for teknoParrot? I've searched everywhere for days and no one seems to want to say anything about it. It's like super hush hush and the website says they will never host the games, but then on other sites they tell you that they dont have the games either but have instructions on running it.. how the heck do we get this? its not even available on torrent as i checked there too.. ugh~
@@battosaijenkins946 I've never noticed this reply until now. Do a Google search for "outrun 2 SPDX Teknoparrot" and you'll find somewhere on the first page you can get it from. Yeah, I tried doing a recording of the 15 stage SP Route awhile back and I managed to crash twice on Milky Way and ran out of time. There"s a nasty S bend towards the end of the Jungle stage that often gets me as well.
The Jungle and Milky Way stages are the 2 ones that normally trip me up, there are some nasty S bends and narrow roads. The New York one can be tricky too.
@@MrThunderwing I can't get my head around Teknoparrot at all. Like to sort it out just for OutRun 2. Am I right in thinking that latest builds of windows won't allow it to run? I've spent days trying to get it going to no avail...proper gutted.
@@johnboydojo Yup, holding out on upgrading as long as humanly possible. My PC's about 10 or 11 years old now, so I'll inevitably have to upgrade at some point...
Yeah, I've always found the traffic conditions to be slightly heavier in the DX version! 😅 If i'm not mistaken, in OutRun Online Arcade and the Chihiro version, the traffic conditions aren't quite as heavy, but they are still heavier than in Coast 2 Coast? 🤔
Hmmm, I actually think the traffic conditions are pretty equal between Coast 2 Coast, Outrun 2 and Online Arcade, although obviously you can alter the difficulty level in the options, which affects that. Outrun 2 (OG Xbox version) is definitely a bit harder than the other two in my opinion though, the advanced and expert cars are definitely a bit harder to handle.
I'm completely at a loss. I'm playing the same version, and I do the first two stages perfectly (Dragon > Pegasus), but I always run out of time before completing Ice Scape. Is there some trick to getting more checkpoint time?
There's nothing special I'm doing other than trying not to crash. Are you using manual gears to gear drift? It gets you around the corners a lot faster.
@@MrThunderwing how you doing man? Me trying not to go crazy in the quarantine 😑. Thanks! Now that the amd shaders are out I will try it out. Btw, i didn't expected or2 would look so beautiful on lindbergh with all those effects. Being able to play it on our PC's is such a treat
4 GB Ram should be enough. There's literally so many things that could be going wrong, it's kind of hard to narrow it down. Make sure you're using the correct game executable - it should be a type of file called 'Jennifer' in the disk0/Jennifer folder (or it might be Jennifer with an additional suffix after it, if you're using a patched version). Make sure you've got the game in a folder that your antivirus can't affect it - Microsoft Security has a habit of stealthily deleting some bits of Teknoparrot games, mistaking them for viruses. Some things that have worked in the past for me with TP games that are playing up: Try the game in windowed mode if it won't run fullscreen. Try running Teknoparrot as an administrator. If you've got a dual screen set-up, go back to one monitor. I thiiiiink there's separate NVIDIA and AMD patches for OR2, you might want to look into whether you've got the right one (been ages since I set this up, I might be wrong on this).
@@MrThunderwing all right I've just managed to make the game run, but: -the vehicles are invisible -the game runs slightly faster than usual (this does not affect the sounds) -in game everything is white -i'm playing a custom rom since there's eurobeat music rather than the original soundtracks. Do you know how to fix some of these problems or I should just keep C2C for PC?
@@abnormalmusic1477 The graphical issues are probably being caused by a graphics card incompatibility. My GPU is an NVIDIA card and when I first tried the game I was having issues with messed up graphics and I think I needed a patch. I can't tell you anymore than that though, this was years ago, you'd need to do some Googling. The issue with the game playing too fast is probably due to your monitor refresh rate being too high. Try turning it down to 60hz.
@@MrThunderwing oh seen, thx - xbox version it is then, can't wait till its either backwards compatible with xbox systems or till its fully playable on emulator :D
I don't think think it'll ever be backwards compatible with current gen Xboxs, owing to the fact the game was delisted when Sega lost the Ferrari license. Emulation's coming on nicely, but it's still got a way to go.
Hrrrm, I'm using an ELF file called Jennifer_patched. I think I downloaded it as part of a pack. I can't recall if using that to launch the game was all that was needed to sort the missing textures out or if there was a specific patch I needed to apply to the original ELF file. The former rather than the latter I believe.
