Good job. Very clear and informative. I’ve had one of them hand mixers for about 30 years and it still works perfect. I’m sticking with it. Thanks for showing us.
Recently I received the Velvetiser I purchased for myself. I have used it so far 3 times. The bundle I chose came with 1 box of your choice of chocolate flakes plus I purchased 1 more box. I had a discount code for $5.00 off the chocolate flakes. Here in the United States the bundle with 1 box of chocolate is about $150.00. A regular box of the flakes is about $25.00 USD. I honestly feel that this is extremely overpriced. It does get it hot but for me I prefer it even hotter to where It feel like it is hot going all the way down to my soul. No not burning just hot. For the price it can be larger where you can get 2 - 3 cups out of it. Also the flakes can be cheaper since it's only 10 in the box. This is why I purchase some Lindt & Ghirardelli flavored Chocolate bars ( none with nuts). I chopped it up & have used that. I get more out of that than the flakes. Don't get me wrong I will use the flakes I purchase but I will be using the chocolate of my choice. This so I can adjustify the money I spent on this. Overall I do like the Velvetiser, but it should be at a cost of $35.00 - $40.00 USD NOT $150.00 ☹️
Yes I found your new channel. Thankyou so much for showing this bit by bit I am one of those ppl that need that. This is going on my christmas list but I will be checking it in a few months and regularly for any money knocked off
Love this new channel so good luck with it. I would not purchase the velvetiser because I’d only use it 3mnths of the year so I’m going to buy a hand blender which I’d use all year round. Thanks Nikki for showing us your version 👍
Found you on Bits Bobs and Bargains. At last. Love your channels. made the Xmas snowman for my brothers grave - he looked wonderful. You are a very talented lady. 👌Love spending time with you BUT I keep saying ‘hang on a minute.
Ah I’m glad you found me, you should join my Facebook page ‘ stay at home crafts ‘ you can share your craft projects there, I would love to see them xx
Great video! My partner bought me 1 for Christmas & I love it. For me the hand blender way is too much hassle & the velvetiser is easy to clean & a lot quicker & of course looks nicer 😜 I agree it’s pricey but everything is at hotel chocolat. I love adding the Costa powder instead or crumbling up a Cadbury flake. I made a lovely chocolate horlicks in it too & apparently it makes good lattes so it’s not just for hotel chocolat sachets 😊
I use an electric milk frother from George Asda that cost me £12. Heats it up, mixes and makes it lovely and creamy. Use grated bourneville chocolate for mine a large bar for £1.50 does 4 cups.
So glad I watched the video. My husband was gifted a box of those hot chocolate drinks by his work, and we don't have a machine for it. And even better still I have a black forrest gateux recipe I was working on & I was struggling to find another method for grating the chocolate for on the sides of the cake. Using the box grater took ages, & food processor (even if chilling the chocolate), took just as long & not right consistency. Wanted to use something that people might have in their kitchen, rather than buy a large bag of it pre-grated chocolate. So going to get one of these rotary graters. Is the Amazon one you listed same as yours? I see it has different attachments. Thanks so much
Hi Caroline, the Velvetiser is a nice looking as machines go, and slick but not worth the £110. But I won’t tell Sean that 😂😂. The cheese grater I actually bought in Florida a few years ago. It’s so handy, so I tried to see if there was anywhere else that would do them and that’s what I found on Amazon. Xx
You can get this and the two mugs for less than £60 atm. We prefer callebaut belgian chocolate. I also preheat the mugs. I have to say we use the ' hot chocolate shaker 'more often as it's quicker to make multiples. The bar chicolate you used is full of sugar btw.
Can I say that I have a chronic illness and in constant pain. So I've watched what you did with the hot milk and bowl I would find the chocolate machine easier to use. You could show us the items you have already like your hoover or coffee machine. What a printer you could show that. I'm 56 so I know how to dry washing but I know many youngsters don't know life without a dryer so that was good to show.
🙋hi from Scotland hi Vikki thank you for your honesty I would use the bowl ,that is a lovly looking machine but a lot cheeper to use the blender great chanel Nikki jeep them coming cheers 🍷 till next time Anne from Scotland
Top tip from me, I add a little bit of cold milk into the glass first and use battery powered milk frother, this creates fantastic foam then I use a jug with chocolate and milk and whisk that. At the end, it end up looking like hot chocolate latte with white milk froth on top 😁
As someone who bought the velvetiser, I'd recommend the dualit milk frother. It's essentially the same machine but the dualit frother has an option for cold frothing. The design and functions are almost identicle because dualit are the manufacturers of the velvetiser. The dualit machine is also a bit cheaper.
I purchased the velvetiser as a Christmas present to myself. I've previously purchased chocolates from Hotel Chocolat, and they sent me an email offering the velvetiser with a 50% reduction. Had there not been the reduction, I wouldn't have purchased it. I thought there would be a lot more froth, so that's quite disappointing and I would prefer a hotter drink. In my opinion, the boxes of hot chocolate and cafe latte work out to be quite expensive. I'm not really a coffee drinker, so I'm not really keen on the cafe latte that I've tried. I've tried most of the mixed box of hot chocolate sachets.......some I liked and some I didn't. I also purchased a box of the black forest gateau hot chocolate and quite like that one. I've experimented using a block of chocolate and also Cadbury flake and they work well. I will continue to use blocks of chocolate etc., instead of purchasing the boxes of sachets because it saves a lot of money. I'd find using a hand whisk far too much hassle. Definitely would not purchase the velvetiser at full price.......oh and I didn't receive the magazines in my box.
Hi Annie, yes I agree, it’s to much money. And for a box of sachets 10 in a box is more than a £1 per sachets. Have you tried Nutella ? a large teaspoon of Nutella or supermarkets own brand is much easier and taste lush xx
I Agree with you for the £7 mixer. how much electric will the Velvetiser use as it seemed to be on for ages .. In this time where we are supposed to be saving electric I personally prefer the your second option.
Thanks for the honest review I was thinking of getting 1 but I just can’t justify buying it! I personally think it’s overpriced & the 2 you made with the blend looked just the same 👍🏻
I would buy the velvo mashine it's easy and you don't need to have so much to do hotel chocolate is lush to but each to there own but the second way you did to much effort 😂😂 and the velvo I just got one can't wait to use it.
I have the Velvetiser and it’s not sold as a milk frother, when you use real chocolate in it (either the sachets - I only use 1/2 a sachet or grated chocolate) the machine blends it together at the perfect temperature for melting chocolate and “velvetises”it. However, I also use it to heat milk for lattes or use powder hot chocolate and in those cases the velvetiser does produce a lot of froth. I agree it is an expensive machine though (they often do discounts) and before I had it I used a £1 battery milk frother that produced great results.
I’ve just ordered one and think it might be easier for me as I can’t stand for long and I think I’d use it more often to have more hot drinks especially frothy hot chocolate. I can’t wait to do my own versions with chocolate bars too
Yes i do the same! Just another overpriced gadget! Get over 70% choc which is the best and you have the perfect hot chocolate add cream and marshmallows for a touch of luxury!
When it's 3am and a cold winters night, the Velvetiser is the way to go.
Good job. Very clear and informative. I’ve had one of them hand mixers for about 30 years and it still works perfect. I’m sticking with it. Thanks for showing us.
So glad I watched this I've been contemplating buying one for awhile, thankyou for a very well informed review 👍💖🤩
I’m glad it was helpful. Mine now has a fault, and I am going to return it. I really don’t think it’s worth the money 🤷🏼♀️
@@bitsbobsbargains27What is the fault, may I ask? TY x
Great honest review Nikki, I personally think that the Velvetiser is overpriced. Thanks for that and good luck with your new channel xx
You're really good at this, Nikki. Thank you for an excellent review x
Fantastic review! Thank you so much! I've got a stick blender, never thought about using for chocolate!! Opened a while new world!
Glad you liked it x

Agreed. More dish cleanup and laundry. But nice to know all the options. 😊

This is what I’m getting Velvetiser way too over priced
Thanks Nikki, I agree that for the price it isn't worth it. And would this just become another gadget that is left in the cupboard!

Interesting it melts chocolate also.Melting chocolate can be a mess sometimes. Looks class.

Yes I agree with everything you have mentioned. And agree it’s over priced and my £7 hand whisk does the job perfectly 👍🏻
a better comparison may be using your own grated chocolate in the velvetiser
Great video agree that it’s very overpriced think that it’s just another fad, very interesting thanks ❤️👍🏻
I’ve just ordered one and think it might be easier for me as I can’t stand for long and I think I’d use it more often to have more hot drinks especially frothy hot chocolate. I can’t wait to do my own versions with chocolate bars too
I purchased the Aldi version, and for me, it's not hot enough and only is a ver small cup of coffee, it's already back in my cupboard lol 😆 xx
Oh no 🤣🤣
Velvetizer, absolutely. Getting a bowl, and mixer with beaters is WAY too much! EFFORTLESS AND EASY for me!
Paris Rhône £50 cheaper
