    It's a 12V system on a 504. They were all 12V out of the box. That's a very nice 504. The C-153 is the same bore and stroke as the H. But the engine is actually based on the A engine. They have no sleeves. Both are nice engines. Thanks for the subscription buddy!

    I have had my 504 since 2017. Love the tractor. Drives like a dream. Use it for everything on our small farm. Just picked up a 544 this spring and it will now be my " big tractor". The 504 will still get plenty of work. I paid $3200 for mine in Southwest Pennsylvania. The should go for around $4500. Great looking machine.

Great tractors! That pull type disc would be awesome for the Cub! Especially when you go to your channels next phase of Farmall/International repairs LOL

    First tractor I ever drove was my family’s 504D utility. I love that old tractor, pulled a three bottom 18” Oliver plow every year, in sandy loam soil and done a great job. Still own it now and also a 606D utility. As long as you have a good battery and the glow plugs are good, they work just fine. They probably go for about 4500.

    • @tyfrank3427
      @tyfrank3427 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      One thing that really surprises me is that International never built a Farmall 606. The 606 was a replacement for the 460 Utility, but I am amazed, given the popularity of the Farmall 460, that they never built a direct replacement.

    • @thomasbowen2463
      @thomasbowen2463 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ty Frank I agree, I wish they had. I’ve always wondered why they didn’t. I guess they figured the farmall 504 and 706 was all they needed until the 656 came out.

    made 61 to 68 12v system 46hp pto 153cid same bore and stroke as a H but running 2200rpm 7,7:1 compression ratio. this tracor replaced the 460 and used much less fuel. farmers that i talked with liked the 504 as an upgrade to a 300, 350 or 460. they were easier to get on and off of and handled better being shorter
    the drawback is these engines had no sleeves.so they had to be rebored at between 3500 and 5000 hours. i had a couple come into the shop at 3000 hours and only need new pistons rings bearings and valve grind. the owner had to keep clean dry air filters in them
    the 504 handled a 3-14 plow just fine or a 10ft disk
    .my guess this 504 might bring 2500 to 4500 if the crowd goes wild.
    if you want a 504 for your collection this is the one to buy.if it sells reasonable

  • @jamesolson9423

    If that 504, row crop is as mechanically sound as it looks, I would pay $3,000.00 for it. It does need 2 sets of rear wheel wights. They are handy tractors for light duty work such as pulling self unloading wagons and up to 300 bushel gravity wagons. Also a trailer load of fire wood. On a very small hobby farm, you cut and rake hay. A 9ft, trailing mower would be just right for a 504. The utility model would work well for scraping a cement barn yard, and the farm's drive way. But the 404 utility would even be better for scraping work. But for loader work one would need front wheel assist.

    The narrow front is nice and clean. Saw a video on TH-cam of a 504 pulling 3 bottom IH mounted plows no problems at all. What I like about the 504 is the front grille and tin work that reminds me of a smaller version of the 656. I will guess 3500 to 3800 got the narrow front and 2800 to 3000 for the utility. Let us know. Thanks for the video.

  • @jamesolson9423
    @jamesolson9423 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The 504 is very equal to a SMTA. 46 PTO HP. Of course it is nicer that a SM. The frame allows for a front end weight bracket to be securely mounted on it. Also the 3 pt hitch is a big plus over the SM, because SM's did not have 3 pt hitch. The seat is mounted slightly in front of the rear axle, where as the SM, you road behind the rear axle. This results in a nicer ride. It was comparable to the JD 2010 and was in competition with the JD 2010. Personally I would buy the 594, over the 2010, because of the TA feature. I do like the front mounted fuel tanks that are on all 10 JD series tractors. In todays used tractor market, the Deere is the better buy because parts are more readily available than IH tractors. You got keep in mind that these tractors are 60 plus years old, and old equipment always needs to be repaired, unless you don use it for any real farm work.

    I’d give 3,500 to 4,500 for that Farmall 504. Looks to be in great shape. The pull type disk is like mine that came with my H. Mine is a 7ft. Good cutting disk. Especially after plowing. It was worn out by my grandfather. It works fine for making a garden however. Just wouldn’t want to do 40 acres with it like he did back in the day. I bid a couple hundred for the disk.

    I have the same 504 utility. That tractor just missing battery box and things. They both looked like they have TA. I have see a similar narrow front with loader for 3600. I would think they would both go higher than that. If I had the money I would buy the narrow front end. The tractor has been really good to me. They have their limits but really lug down and pull well. Its done everything I ask it to do. That is a great find. They would be a great addition to a lager tractor like you say. Sometimes you just need a little more horsepower. Hopefully the wind stops here soon. Thanks for sharing your find.

    When I came into the world, my grandfather’s farm my dad grew up on had a 504D utility (they called it a low boy) and a Super A. And that’s what they used on 170 acres in cultivation up until 76-77 when dad bought a 1586 and started renting a lot of land. The 504 finally “died” in the mid 80s when it broke a rod or cracked a piston or something and dad just never got it fixed. My dad had acquired a Ford 4000 (which was a bit stronger tractor) so repairing the 504 wasn’t a priority. It had gotten bogged down in the back of the feedlot and we left it sitting a while until it dried out enough to get something out there to pull it out. Hindsight we probably should have changed the oil after we got it out, but who knows if that would have prevented the damage. But it was the #1 tractor on their farm for more than a decade

    Ya well the Honda will never die. The Famall should sell for $3200. and International for about 3600. If you got two in the ring,well who knows..less than 5k. Some times there is a ringer, a roper, a shill and some times the they just make up bidders to get it rollen. But some num chuck just gets carried away,never know. Like stock car you just wait for the big One. Boom..

    Since they’re both gassers, I’d give $2750 for the narrow front and $3250 for the utility.

    There good tractors personally I don’t like the looks of them especially the row crop as the side panels are weird. If I were to buy a 5 series IH I would go with a 544 as it’s just a improved 504 but either one of them are good tractors

    I've had a 2504 (industrial) for years and it is an excellent little tractor to keep around for general chores around our hobby farm.

  • @kenvisocky8479
    @kenvisocky8479 ปีที่แล้ว

    The 504 I think is worth between 8:00, 8000 and 9,000

    • @kenvisocky8479
      @kenvisocky8479 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the second tractor of 504 is worth a little bit more because of the loader so I'd say about 10,000 even

  • @tractorsfamilyandwildlife1342
    @tractorsfamilyandwildlife1342 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'd give 5,500.00 for the NF and 6,500 for the loader tractor

    The farm I worked on as a kid had an IH 504 utility with the 2000 loader. I put a lot of hours on it picking up round bales. I felt it had plenty of power for its size. I could get 8 round bales on a bale rack and one on the loader and it would pull it in road gear.

    504 is worth about 3000. And the loader be about 3780.... gas are not worth as much as some think.... 504 is a nice little tractor many guys for some reason so many red guys have unreasonable expectations.... they have a place just not what these unreal guys demand.... the 504 Utility is a great tractor.... great hydraulics and less horse than my 544 farmall..... even so many hate the 544.... it's not a big tractor either... I just paid 1200 for that one... maybe it's just I live in the heart of dairy country not worth more than 3 to 5 k for either one when 656 706 766 bring 5 to 8 depending on condition and Power plant
