3s Typhon is 44oz lighter than 6s Typhon, it also uses 1 battery instead of 2. The 3s also wears down tires less. I prefer the 3s, I sold my 6s limitless and 6s kraton... Charging two batteries, replacing tires too often, and just being super heavy with worse handling because of weight. Looking at supercars and hypercars, they're built light with 500-1000hp, they don't weigh like a truck and weight 2 tons. Sure you get more power with the 6s, but almost all that power is just extra power needed to move such a heavy frame and the extra battery.
The 3S v3 seems much better value than the 6S v5 to me. The stock 6S may have a slightly higher top speed but they seem pretty evenly matched in acceleration. The 6S may have sway bars but it probably needs them to counter the negative effects on handling of it being a much heavier RC. The 6S may be better than 3S for racing on tracks due to its clutch but for general use the 3S seems the more sensible choice. As for durability then the 6S may win but its replacement parts will be more pricy. Its aluminium chassis (seemingly of a lower quality than the aluminium chassis of the TLR variant) appears to be somewhat prone to bending and will be expensive to replace whereas the composite chassis of the 3S is lighter, much cheaper to replace and will be far less likely to bend or break.
for the money this says the 3S is great value for money ... we have been running a 3S and it is plenty fast enough... dont see the 6S being that much quicker. great video
If your gonna buy and 3s and not modify it, its the one to go for. If your planning on upgrading the shocks, tower and motor mount, probably best go for the 6s.
I'm really close to buying one of these Typhon 6S buggies. I just can't get over how robust they're and your video just goes to prove it with some of those hard landings & roll overs. All the best.
Nice video Jay finally a good comparison. I have both. Like I said there’s about 2 feet of snow here but looks like the 6s is still the kind beast overall. Scary fast acceleration and power it’s amazing. I might have to keep both after all lol 👍🇨🇦😍
I love my 6s! The 3s seems like a great buggy too. I have those ramps 😂 They always make the trucks go nose down, they just don't have a big enough lip on them.
When it comes to the 6s car, I have all 3 (although the 1st 2 don't look like Typhons anymore) & the only parts I busted on any of the 3 are the red ESC from the v1 & the shock caps on the v3. The v2 is breakage free & I have still yet to break anything structure-wise on any of them. It's simply the best bashing buggy out there.
Nice run JayTee. It looks like the 3s Typhon gets off the line quicker that the 6s. The 6s running on 4s looks like if gets more speed once it gets going. I think running the 6s Typhon on 4s is a great way to go. More longevity and less breakage.
😂😂sneakin in that soccer clippin lol! I love it man! Puttin in that work, appreciate this side by side and great jumping skills with mad distance you pulled off there! 👊👊👏👏👏💯😁🍻
Great video thanks!👍🏼 I do love your videos their quick and very informative! Just purchased the 6s version but man was it a hard decision, but the red anodised Aluminium swayed my decision! 🤣 keep up the good work JayTee!
Nice comparison, also with the choice to run the 6S on a 4S battery with a larger pinion was a good choice to show speed wise the new lighter Arrma BLX 3S is about the same performance as your standard 4S 1/8 buggy. This reminds me of another buggy with the same concept; the Hobby King rattler, 1/8 size light weight 1/10 electronics running on 3S. Obviously the Arrma has stepped up this concept but would still be nice to see you get the rattler out for a 3S 1/8 comparison!
How to decide between Typhon 3s and 4s ? Other than price, any reason to get the 3s over the 6s (which I'd be using with single 4s so I can charge at same time as my granite battery)?
Yes. They take apart brand new cars and part them out at excellent prices. You have to check back often as they re-stock and sell out every day or two.
3s for me. Batteries and weight are not worth the extra cheese. In any race, weight is the enemy. The 1/8 scale platform gives it all the stability you need to race and beat lesser drivers with more weigh and more power. Fun to see reactions at the track after you tell them it's 3S.
Exactly what I was thinking. I go to my buddy's track and it's not that big. The Ty3s is alot lighter and more nimble on a smaller track. I think it's the better deal. My K6s gets beat by the smaller lighter buggys

Looking good👍 6S, 3S I don't think you could go wrong with either.

Been waiting for a typhon TYPHON video thanks for posting👍
More to come

Man, I love seeing the typhon 3s wheelie, every time I get mine to do it, I just get the biggest smile

I have the 3s and it never leaves me feeling like it’s not fast enough. Especially off road
Awesome! Keep up the great work!

It hit -10 today & 6" of snow. . . I'd take 35 anyday.

Those rigs look sweet together, nice run bro:)
I caved JayTee, ...got my own Typhon 6S now and signed up to the Arrma forum. It's addictive like crack or something. Ha. Atb.

Thank you for the video both great buggies. But, at the end i decided to buy the Typhon 6s b/c is more durable/powerful than the 3s.

Look so fun dude~!!!Jump is cool as well!!👍👍👍
Going to buy the 3s tycoon buggy 11.1 Battery
6s running a 4s battery? How about a stock 6s running a 5k or 4.5k vs a 3s 5k battery
If I bought a Typhon 3s can I swap the electronics for a 6s? Will it fit in the car?
How much would you say it cost to max out the 3S and 6S to max speed? And what’s the fastest they can go modified?
Arrrrrrmmmmazzzing maaan 👌👌👌
Great job.
Nice comparison 👍 both are some solid rigs 😎 but that 6s power lol 👊

Cool thanks.
What’s that a race track?! Hahahahaha! Love it man!!
Great vid by the way
Looking to get my 1st rc. I want to get my boys into it. Should I buy a Typhon 3s or 6s?
3s
JayTee will the shocks from the 6s Typhon work for the BLX cars?
Lmc
Jenny’s RC HAS THEM FOR $13 each. I’m ordering them now for all of my BLX cars. Thanks!
Yes. They take apart brand new cars and part them out at excellent prices. You have to check back often as they re-stock and sell out every day or two.
adam johnston and why do they take apart brand new cars? Thanks👍
I love my arrma .nice vid 👍
Can someone help me I don’t know what to get HoBao hyper vs or the arma typhoon 3s ? Does anyone know which is better
What do you prefer to drive? Truck or buggy?
truggy
@@JayTeeRC Truggy meaning stadium truck like the Vortek or you mean like Kraton?
@@cgprelude kraton
Im looking for the brushed version . Basic one. Do they have the same transmission parts? Are they as tough?
I wouldn’t get that one, better to invest some more money and get a brushless
Cant go wrong with either,
Hey Jt you said he’s running a 19t on a 6s blx system?
I was considering buying the 3s, but i already have an rc8.2e - kinda a downgrade. That 3s needs more weight!
hi sir if i use 2 batteries For typhon 6s each maximum battery can I use how much C?
I'm glad I only got the 3s was way cheaper
1 hell of a buggy stronger and sturdery buggy for sure LOT stronger then then the Ruckus thats for forsure gurrantied
I have the 3s. I love this RC
Nice
Mph?
Yeah the 6s on 4s even geared up is about the same speed as the 3s stock... handling though... another story entirely
Are you saying the 6s handles better?
What exactly are you saying? If you can’t elaborate why even say it.
I’ve seen the car go at what was about 59-69mph and it appeared steady and the driver made no mention of instability
Sweet
Arrma is arrma ... But the 6s lollll!!!
I just don't like that the 6s has an exposed spur gear...
Scratch them up on that pavement bro..lol
😁
I really am thinking to sell my 3S to get 6S
Ramps are so short the cars bottom out on take off
Of buy the A959B for $50...
You're kidding, right?
@@sonicelectronic57 I've got the both the 6 and 3s Typhon. Still love my A959B though.
