- "Quick rip" proved right. Blew the stock rear wheels right off...Lol. This is a rip and rundown of tuning changes/upgrades and loose comparison to the new 4s line. In all honesty, this little buggy is probably my overall favorite RC to bash and easily the best value at 300$. This video is dedicated to my dear friend and RC Brother Thomas P of Tp-Parts Rc-Xtreme. Thanks Thomas for the constant inspiration and everything you do for the ARRMA community.

I love the way you just repair on the spot and still have fun. I want to be good to fast and sometimes i get mad at me loll so I will try to be a good basher and that mean having fun no mather what happen. Thanks for the good example 👌

This Rig Never ceases to amaze me. That's why I picked it up man.. what a BASH brother. She took huge Air beautifully. 3S buggy that can bash like a 6S MT. Absolutely Love it. You busted both back wheels at same time? Insane brother. Just fitted mine with the 4S Outcast/Kraton arms. Looking forward to giving a go soon. Bash on brother. I have had mine for about 2 weeks. Put 6s Kraton shocks on it , 20 t pinion and fan on the motor heatsink. It is truly a beast. I continue to drive it like I stole it with no breakage. Thanks for the great video and review Sir Duperbash

For sure Brother 🤗. Both the Typhon 3s and new Big Rock V3 are Killer options 👍. The Typhon comes with 17mm hexs which is nice as far as wheel options. Of course you can get adapters for the BRCC or swap on Typhon axels and hexs pretty easily 🤔. Can't go wrong either way. Just depends on what you prefer really, truck vs buggy. They share most of the same parts. 😎💪👊👊

HR front/rear braces, RPM front bumper, Tbone rear with wheelie bar, trencher 3.8's, savox servo, spektrum receiver, RPM arms, tekno shock ends, hobbywing motor heat sink, some odd brand of fan, HR sliding motor mount, HR front center diff support, mugen diff shims, VR front upper hinge pin retainer and wing support... so yeah, almost stock! LOL!
Still running the stock motor/esc though.

Still running stock electronics, arms, diffs, and driveshafts. Can't recall if ARRMA had gone to the adjustable motor mount at that point or not, but it's a must for proper gear mesh. The GPM aluminum steering blocks were the only real strength upgrade.
I have the 6s Notorious, Kraton and TYphon as well as 3s TYphon and 4s Outcast. For some reason, I also just love running the 3s TYphon the most. Not sure why but it is awesome

Thanks Cam😜!!!! This little guy rips with a 20T👀. No issues with cogging. Maybe with heavier Trenchers or MX28's. Temps are normally fine, but my ESC fan stopped working and I later discovered a busted wire😝. The Kraton/BRCC is a wheelie Beast!!!! 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

Old video I know but the Typhon 3s was the one of the best I’ve owned. Nice and light weight makes it survive off the jumps a bit better and parts are very cheap for it. I sold my V1 of it but I think it’s time to pick up the newest version of the Typhon 3S with the updated and upgraded parts and the rubber shielded bearing you can’t go wrong

Hilarious how you say it’s mostly stock and give a list of parts that are not stock. Lol. Good video. I just got the typhon 3s. I like it a lot. Hate the new radios that come with them. Rather have a tactic. Only down side to buying an arrma is the radio and parts availability.

You’re an inspiration!! I spun 2 plastic spur gears and noticed my stock Typhon 3s was getting louder so I took the motor apart. 1 bearing completely blown apart, the other was seized. Replaced everything with rubber sealed bearings but haven’t had a chance to run it yet. If the motor is no good anymore after grinding ball bearings through it do you have a suggestion for a reasonably priced alternative? Once again, you’re the man when it comes to controlled mayhem!👍👍
Thanks so much Brother 😊!!!! I'm not sure if rubber sealed bearings in the motor itself will cause too much resistance or not 🤔. They don't spin quite as effortlessly as typical metal shielded ones you find in motors. I'd keep an eye on your motor temps either way. I highly recommend rubber sealed in the slipper assembly though. Unfortunately, dirt and grit seems to get sucked into the slipper housing rather easily 👀. I clean mine out regularly. Several guys have made a spur gear chassis cutout like on the 6s rigs to allow debris an exit point. It makes perfect sense to me to prolong bearing and motor health, I just hadn't tried it myself yet. There's great info about it on the ARRMA 3&4s Facebook Forum. Here's a link to a potential motor option that is quite affordable from RCJuice. They're one of my favorite brands. This one is slightly longer and should have more torque. Hey Rich awesome video can’t believe you blew the tires apart hahah. I have the Typhon 3S and I got to say it’s one of my favourites also. I love 1/8 buggies and this is a much lighter weight and one battery buggy to run. I might have to look into those shocks and I did bump up to a 20T pinion also and a stronger steering servo a 20kg. I just got a chassis guard laminate in the mail a skull 💀 one looks pretty sweet will install it on my days off and can’t wait to go for a few bashes! Great video again 🇨🇦🍻👋👍. And to think I thought about selling my Typhon 3S before but I’ll take your word for it. Might have to sell the Big Rock Crew cab I’m trying to slim down my collection and buy one or two new rc. I’ve sold a bunch on eBay with great success. Take it easy Rich!

Rich Duperbash ya I vent most of mine now with your tips I learnt in your video showing how you do it. Works great. Ya I just don’t have the storage for more then 8 cars or so. Ya my big rock has been sitting around for a while and I did the 17mm hot racing conversion, stronger servo and proline mx 2.8 tires it’s a nice truck but just not my style anymore. Ya I love the Typhon 3s also haha 🤘

Silly question how do you vent the tires do you just put a hole in the rubber what do u do with the hole on the inside of the wheel
Awesome bashing! In order to get the Typhon to flip on stock tires, do you need a taller pinion? Anything bigger than the stock 15T?
Yes indeed. You need around an 18-20T pinion and a steep or somewhat abrupt takeoff with lots of throttle. The stock tires are extremely light. Makes it challenging to flip easily. 😎💪👊👊

Hey boss have you had any over heating esc issues with the 20t pinion I uploaded a video of it melted the inside of my motor mount lol love the perfomance but man it kept overheating on me sucks cuz it was a beast on that 20t
20-25kg servo, a closed bearing on the driveshaft, 20 tooth pinion gear and punch setting 3. Crazy fast on dirt and road. Next im buying a propper radio.
Great vid as always. Just a quick question, when you were holding the buggy up the front wheels looked like they were toe out. Does this help with control?

Hey bro do you think if I get the Tekno mt410 I could put my blx185 esc and 2050 kg motor from my kraton. Because it just comes as a roller right without the electronics.

I just put pro-line trenchers on my Typhon 3s and wondered do you think I should gear down from the 15T to a 14T or 13T? Just to keep heat on the electronics down.
If your motor is staying under 150F range, ESC about 140F, I'd stay with the 15T. Any hotter and I'd gear down a tooth. 😎💪👊👊

I use pro-line trencher 2.8s for my typhon 3s. Rich was using badlands 2.8 glued on F11 rims.

Hey Rich, quick question. Is there a reason you put the Typhon tbone bumper on your outcast 6s? Or was it just because tbone wasn't making the bumpers specifically for the outcast back then?
It really just comes down to preference 😊. I like the smaller simple basher bumper with no connection to the front diff case. The first Outcast Tbone was like a shovel. They've since taken our feedback and redesigned them angled more upwards. I'm still running Typhon Basher bumpers on all my 6s rigs. They don't protect as much as the bigger ones, but they've saved my rigs countless times 👌😎💪👊👊

How much would all those upgrades cost untop of the 300 for the truck?
Good question 🤔. The shocks and GPM steering blocks are about 60$ total. I already had the wheels and sealed bearings. The HR motor mount is around 17-18$ but isn't essential for running a 20T. I just wanted more gearing options and the ability to set my own mesh easily. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Do you think Arrma will release some updates to the 3s line and this buggy in particular ? It’s been out for a year and a half. Looking at getting this buggy based on your videos. Is it better to wait for a newer typhon update ??
I haven't heard of any pending updates 🤔. The platform is very modular and straight forward to wrench on with good aftermarket support too. We'll see. 😎💪👊👊

Congrats on the Typhon 3s 😱!!!! I think the Hot Racing adjustable motor mount and rubber sealed bearings (especially in the slipper housing and rear input gear) are the best upgrades. A Robinson Racing 20T pinion really wakes this rig up 👀. GPM aluminum steering knuckles are pricey, but worth it if you break the stock ones with any regularity. The rest is up to you. Lots of shock upgrade info etc.. on the ARRMA 3&4s Facebook Forum 👍👍😎💪👊👊

Yes indeed 👍. Throttle or slight brake to level off for landings. Best to maintain wheelspin for the given speed.

Not sure I understand your question, but if you're talking about setting the arm droop, you should have to push the shocks upwards slightly when you slide the set pins into the A arms. You don't want the shocks getting pulled on by the weight of the arms and wheels. 🍻
