Hey Michael… I went to the dark side too & I just got my shimano slx bfs reel from
digitaka and the reel really feels good and small very easy to palm, but my question is why you don’t use it anymore? I know it’s frustrating to lose good lures but can you elaborate more and also asking for advise what rod I can pair with it that I can just purchase here in Australia, Thank you and appreciate your response..
Picked up one of these today on alli express for $66 free shipping cant wait to try it in the urban ponds in southern az where they stock with rainbow trout .Got a 2.5# rainbow last yr. Thanks for the reviews and info on this gem.

I love this rod, I just ordered a second local importers are stocking this rod now in Canada and USA. The BASS one rods are making there way over too, curious to see how they compare. Plus they are also releasing a upgraded Shimano Majestic XT soon

I agree with others. Should be available in the US… Simply put, the $65 shipping for this rod is a deal breaker… thus far I prefer the Okuma SST C 702 LB… Your information is the best… keep it up. TY

I’ve got a Zephyr but I don’t really know wich rod to choose for that purpose, I’d like it to be more than 210cm, and for lures between 3 and 8g, would you have any recommandation ?

I know this review is over a year old, that said good job . Question, if I went with 6 lb mono would this be a good rod to throw 3/16 to a 1/4 OZ . topwaters like the floating Rapalas & small poppers ? Even though it's a fast action I get the impression from the video that the rod has enough flex on the tip to cast these well, am I right with that assessment ?

Would you rather use the sensilite or this rod?
The sensitive tip version of this rod recommend the lure weight of 2-7g, line weight 4-10lbs, does it mean it cant cast lure that beyond 7g?

They do have a spinning selection for them.
yeah they have spinning models too, the line isnt just BFS models

I no it's a little pricey but the seaguar invizx I've been using the 6lb and I was fishing the other day with a small ned rig and it got hung up I'm telling you when I was trying to brake it I but just as much force on it like when I'm using 15lb it's pretty good stuff

I have a very similar Shimano rod that I picked up 2 years ago it’s the scimitar model # scmt 70ml2b it’s 7 foot 4 to 10 lb line and I can throw 1/16 and 1/8 trout spinners a mile on it

I still can’t get my head around the split grip craze. Sure it saves weight, but shortening the grip overall would save more. Why have this long section you never use just interfering with your forearm on the cast!?
Yeah for heavier 1/4oz or 7g lure make senses. For BFS cast below that weight kinda of a hinder
the rod says 6-12lb nylon but could i run this majestic rod with 4lb test?
How would this compare to the dobyns sierra?
Tried the Diawa 19 X642LB yesterday, goodness it is fast also. Looking for something to fish 1/16-1/8 (fiddler crab in shallow water) tossing next to structure. More moderate tip that won’t fold on a 5-10 lb drum. Does it exist?
Maybe Dobyns Sierra? I heard its got a softer tip
Yes big drum here in west Michigan! I would not manage on BFS need a more solid setup to get to shore, God forbid it happens, I've lost $20. Worth of lures this year to large Drum....
I got this rod with kyorim black knight 2... Caught lot of fishs on 1-2gr lures...

It surprises me that some of the Aliexpress brand rods, Tsurinoya for example, use decent guide trains and reel seats. My Proflex 2 at least claims to have Fuji's. Possible they are fake but they do not feel that way...
I caught over a 20lb grass carp on 4lb vanish. I have had good luck with it.
Should check out Doomsday Tackle. They sell a 7’ medium-light, fast action BFS rod. 4-12lb line, 1/16-1/2oz lure rating for 140 bucks. Quality rods man. I have a 6’10” medium, mod-fast casting rod and a 7’3” medium, fast spinning rod from them. Have the 6’10” casting rod paired with my scorpion mgl and man what a great top water and jerk bait rod. I throw anything from in-line spinner and smaller ploppers to my 3/4oz baby Bull gill on that thing. Have the spinning rod paired with my 2500 vanford also.

Will this work with Sufix pe braids? Im looking into getting this rod since its really thin and can handle my shimano SLX DC XT spooled with Sufix 832 15lb. I find Sufix 832 15 lb to be thick, its more like a 20lb braid.

What BFS rod you'd recommend then? I don't really like the styling of this rod, so what rod would be a good caster and sensetive enough? Or should I get one and rebuild it?
there are way too many options out there I havent tried to answer that
My buddy recommended the tsurinoya elf to me or the Phenix Feather, but the feather was more of an availability in the states thing. I love the elf, mine is 7’5 I believe. I am seeking an additional shorter bfs rod for mountain streams.

What is best rod for the zephyr, im tossing 1/16th oz spinner baits for trout, bass, panfish, W. Michigan in small treed out creeks, culverts and ponds?

Last week I finally received the rod. I paired it with the Kastking Zephyr. After the first test with a 5g Ned Rig I have to say the rod feels fine but I did not manage to find the best settings for the reel using 8 pound braid.
The lure is probably too heavy.
Where did you purchase it? I have a sweet tusinora elf, but also want a shorter bfs rod.
Im having issues figuring out my zephyr as well... Not new to this either.
This season the combo works absolutely awesome. Most of the time I am using 4 to 8g twitch baits for trout and perch (like small mouth in the US). Best catch so far a fat 17 inch perch close to 4 pounds. So much fun on this rod.

Hey did realize that Tackle Warehouse selling the Steez Air TW, but the price is so high, do you think Daiwa is making the same mistake like they use to back in the day when they release the SS Air in the America again?
Pretty much... America isnt ready for a $300 BFS reel, and its sure not ready for a $600 one. But I suspect we may see a "Tatula Air" soon

Very nice rod! I travel for work and the 7'1 Light 2 piece is my go to rod on the road. I use a Curado MGL 70 mostly but will bring the Curado BFS or Aldebaren on rare occasions.
Looking for a 2 piece "power" BFS rod because for ease of transport and ability to keep I'm my car, just in case. So far the Majestic has ticked all the boxes but still need to do some more research. Don't want to buy another BFS rod that lives in the closet, lol. Keep up the great reviews and thanks for pointing!

About to get a shimano sensilite and then I see this!!! Majestic has appeal with the sensitivity, I don't like 2 part rods BUT it's not a deal breaker !
Cant even tell its a 2 piece. Ive heard the Sensilite is nearly impossible to get now?

I have a Sensilite, using 8lb P Line and Zephyr casting reel to me very sensitive, it is tough to get now.

Nice footage and fishing , but I don't think the line is broken, it looks like you're knot is be open because the line had a little shape at the end of your line.

Berkeley Vanish is trash line. Have had more brake offs with that line than any other hands down.
I always say Im going to stop using it, but when you are needing line a 10 pm and only Wal Mart is open...
