As a carpenter and joiner of 25 years all you need to do is put a point @2x45 degrees on a piece of wood and drill a hole for your pencil, does the same job 👍
And as a joiner you would know this but not every ones a 25 year joiner mate . Or save yourself £25 and use a simple school compass. Still have mine from my school pencil bag and I retired 5 years ago. This device is no simpler or accurate to use. Sorry but i have no idea why you would cut a piece of cardboard transfer that onto you board and then have to mark and cut off the piece overhanging at the front. Simply pin or use doublesided tape your board you are going to scribe and leave a consistent overhang at the front of say 30mm, set your compass to 30mm scribe the board cut to that line and you are finished.
@@UrbanVanlifeYou sarcasm is noted but I'd suggest a simple school compass isn't going to cost £25, or earn you your commission off Amazon. A compass is also way more accurate as the bearing on the tool you use offsets the scribed line by half the diameter of the bearing when you meet a sharp angle, it's fine only on a smooth curve. Try scribing a 25mm deep notch your tool just won't work.
It’s Emma here, I wasn’t being sarcastic in anyway shape or form, your comment could help someone as I stated and we didn’t keep our compasses from school, either of us, I do have a set of my dad’s from when he was an architect but I would never use them as they are a keep sake as he has passed away, and as for the tool it was what we used at the time and it worked for us, we aren’t woodworkers just two people doing our own thing and I wasn’t having a go at anyone, sorry if you thought I was but I wasn’t.
