- A lady encountered two stray cats arguing while she was out. She hoped to stop their quarrel by feeding them, and they ate while bickering. Fortunately, they didn't escalate to fighting. Afterwards, whenever the lady saw them arguing, she would feed them. They never resorted to violence during their arguments. Could it be that they were pretending to argue just to get food? A month later, the lady heard that the property management was annoyed by their noise and wanted to drive them away. After much consideration, the lady decided to adopt them. They are like those two little old ladies/men who live next door to each other in a television show! They don’t even know why they are arguing, but someone gives them attention, so they just keep on doing it. In this case, they get food when they fight. I can just hear them talking:

LOL, it's more likely their conflict is who gets the most attention when someone's around.
You may think you are breaking up an argument, but you are training them to argue by giving them a reward when they do. Now you have the slightly harder task of training them to get along. You have to break the first training. You will have to start by giving a treat separately when they are doing nothing. Later if they argue, put each one in a room by itself for 5-10 minutes. If they continue the argument after they are let out, back they go to their separate rooms. If they do not argue next time, give the treat. And on and on. Good luck. Such vocal cats are worth saving. 😻😻
Nah, body language and behavior like that can't be faked in cats. They have some sort of genuine rivalry that's probably triggered by each other's smells.

When I was almost 9 years old my family adopted our 1st cat in mid July 1979. He was a stray cat. He wasn’t liked these 2 cats. When we adopted our 2nd stray cat. He was very sweet and friendly towards us. Both cats became friends instantly. 1st cat was so laid back with our 2nd cat. They never meowed or howled or even growled at each other. Both cats were red tabbies. They were also both sweet and friendly cats in a different way. I do missed them.

We have two cats in the family and they are so chill and well behaved when nobody is at home or they think that at least but then they get so savage after seeing anyone coming home through the main door though the truth is that they never fought. They were homeless by the way.
